- Take a trip back in time in a magical time tardis and have a look around the Chessington World of Adventures Theme park in Surrey, UK. Ride the Vampire, the UK's most exciting rollercoaster at the time! Plus the much missed Magic Carpet ride, and the Juggler. This park certainly has changed a lot over the years!

I miss the early 90s So so much. I remeber my first time going in 1987, again in 89 then 90 when The Vampire came out, the Buzz for this ride was unreal ! The Bubble Works same year Amazing. Then in 93 when Terror Tomb came out, I loved that ride.. RIP To The Mighty Rameses Revenge. In 1995 When this Bad Boy came out, i was So scared going on the first time, but what a Rush, What a Ride ! I feel truly blessed to be old enough, to of lived through that magic time. Thank you for uploading this Snapshot back to 1993.

Great footage! Vampire & its surrounding area look so different now nearly 30 years on. It's interesting seeing the Old Trains on Vampire before the New Trains were added.
Magic Carpet Jheez, I nearly fell out of that many a time as a kid, my dad had to hold onto me and the MC was always taking the piss out of everyone 😅 great video 👍

Really awesome footage, I remember visiting Chessington in the 90s and how open the Vampire ride area was back then. We styed in the Travel Inn that's near the park entrance and you could really clearly see it running round from your bedroom window, which had me transfixed!
By the time we returned in the early 2000s the trees had grown massively and all you could really make out was the first lift. I've not stayed there since but I'd imagine you can see no sign of it at all now!

Vampire ride vampire ride!
Looks as though Vampire wasn't as intense back then as it is now...
It was more intense with the old trains
Must be one of the first POV on a rollercoaster, like others said can't imagine how you did this on a 90s camcorder haha
I wish they could've kept the old Arrow trains on Vampire, now it's an extremely uncomfortable experience with the new Vekoma trains
Omg quantum from thorpe park and samurai was in cheasington before sometime in 2000s got placed there
For Quantum it was the same ride type but a different ride (the Thorpe one was new, believe it or not), but yes, Samurai is the exact same ride!

PARK: Sure, stop wasting my time.
Hehe, well it wasn't a full sized VHS, just a sony Hi8, but still pretty bulky to have swinging around on a coaster! As long as you had a strap they didn't seem to mind back then.
Is it just me wondering how they held the camera on vampire?

so there was no theming in the tunnel then, dunno why people said it got removed
Vampire was very slow then and now
They completely ruined all the effects and station theming on Vampire as it used to be incredible.
Agreed the ride and whole area were magical
