You can go down to 3.1-3.3V per cell easily on a Lipo, even lower but it gets more sketchy the lower you get. I've taken a 3S pack down to 3.1V before now. But a broken Lipo is cheaper to replace than a quad. And CNHL 550's are cheap in the grand scheme. I tend to buy loads of them at Black Friday sales. Get or build an 18650 3S pack around the Molicel P30B. You will have as much air time as you want with that.
It was very windy that day but I decided to try and see what happens. On the way back I was flying against the wind and I could see and feel the quad coming back so slowly. Haha so much to learn and the only way to get experience is to fly more. Love the Pavo20 - it flies so precise unlike the Darwin FoldApe4. I can orbit and fly close to object with the Pavo20 more accurately and confidently.
Could you please share your thoughts on this drone? I currently fly a Pavo202 inch quad and I love it, but it lacks in range and also it is kinda slow. I want something a bit faster with better flight characteristics while under 250g and this one looks like an option. How do you like it? (I already have O3 on my Pavo so I can transfer it between the two)
I have the Pavo20 as well and it flies very different from the FoldApe4. Pavo20 is more precise - it goes exactly where you want it to go and I love it for what it is meant for. FoldApe 4 flies like its floating due to its 4" props and goes further. With GNB 550mah 3s lipo I get 3.5minutes on the Pavo20 and about 4.5 minutes on the FoldApe4. FoldApe4 with 650mah 3s lipo I get about 6.5 minutes cruising and its great for exploring. If you are looking for speed you can try looking at freestyle quad as they generally flies much faster or you can also remove the duct of the Pavo20 and tilt your camera to 35 degrees.
@@enricsoh Thank you so much for such an honest and detailed response! I appreciate it. I guess I need to decide first what is it exactly that I want in a new drone, but you gave me great insight. Only thing I am sure of is that I want to stay under 250gr and I want a different flying experience than my Pavo20. This one looks interesting and I will look into freestyle options under 250gr. Thanks again!
@@Happyants_ Depends on the size of quad. My 2.5" 4S 1303.5 does 5 mins of fast freestyle on a CNHL 4S 450mAh HV or 7 mins of cruising. If I put a 650 on I get bored with the length of time in the air. It just comes down to how you built and designed it. Build it light and it will stay in the air a long time.
Perfect flight man looks really clear nice job getting it back to home base

Phew.... I'll bet you cooked that LiPo ? Nice work getting it home in that wind :)
Nice flight. 4 minutes flight sounds a little short to me for a 4" on 3s. Did you find out the cause?

What version do you fly here? Im a beginner here so would be so kind yo explain? Is it O3 unit ? Or cheapest version analog ?
I am a beginner too - only 2 months in and I fly with the DJI 03 air unit.

@@enricsoh Does the GPS work for you on this one? I 've seen a lot of complaints about that.
@@Nunyali5lx I took out the GPS because I don't use it. The GPS is not great. Get the Flyfish Goku GPS if you need one.
how did you manage to get low battery within 2min on a LR quad? :D
he used 550 mah battery thats low even for freestyle even tinywhoops have more battery than that
