I like the AMEX Platinum + benefits but these AF increases and additional couponing is starting to get a bit old. Thanks for the info + video!

The cruise benefits aren't worth much. I've used it once on a 5 night in a suite, because it was a super cheap at the close of the Alaska season, Vancouver to San Diego. Had I chose a similar 4 night, it would be too short for the benefit. Had I chose a 6-7 night ship, the price jump kills the incentive.
We sailed to Japan this year, 13 nights in a suite for $6,400. Amex would have given me $300 + chocolate covered strawberries, earning 2X MR. Costco is giving me $500, and I'll be paying the balance with BILT on Rent Day for 4X on travel.

Amex Platinum is great for buying flights directly with airlines (5x) or making large purchases due to the extended warranty and ease of returns.
Thats it. If you can offset the annual fee with your coupons, great. But remember you are paying for those coupons in advance.
CSR and VX are easier to use, have better point multipliers and also have lounge access.

You can get a credit of up to $500 to spend shipboard when you book an eligible sailing of five nights or more.

The Amex Platinum is a waste of money. You're paying $700 for a coupon book. And Centurion lounges are not worth it. They're crowded and their food isn't out of this world. You can get priority pass for lounge access with cheaper cards that also have better points earning rates. The Amex cards are flex cards, but then again no one cares what cards are in your wallet, so who are we flexing for?? Lol

It also gives you gold tier at Hilton and Marriott otherwise you have to sleep 40 nights, I can use the 200 Uber credit an 200 Hotel credit an 200 air incident credit 100 sax credit this card is crazy good if you have the lifestyle for it

@manny5848 Sounds like a coupon book. You're paying money to receive credits.. And you can get cheaper cards that give you some level of status at those hotels, which are better if you frequent that hotel chain often. Also, Marriott gold status is basically worthless, not useful until you get platinum status at Marriott. IMO.

@manny5848 no matter how you try to spin it, you're still giving them $700 so that you can try to earn it back throughout the year in terms of credits 😂 And Marriott gold isn't even worth anything unless you have platinum status. Hilton gold status is so easy to get through other means that justifying it as a perk for paying $700 is just insane imo. So really you're paying $700 to earn Amex points with the Amex platinum card, which it's not even a good points earning card! 🤣🤣

I disagree. I travel a ton for work and mostly fly through SeaTac and Denver as well as DFW and the Centurion lounges there are great. Much better than sitting out in the concourse and waiting for your flight. Fast wifi, coffee and food, comfy seats and plenty of power plugs. Just adding up the amount of food and drinks I consume in those lounges makes it worth for me.

I’ve had the Amex Gold while nice it’s mainly a food MR earner with no real travel value. My Citi Premier is an excellent fallback, I’ve downgraded to the Amex Green with the Everyday Preferred bringing in 3x groceries and BBP rounding out everything else with 2x! I have 8 Amex cards total and cherish them all, Amex Platinum makes sense if your travel tons and value lounge access otherwise your flexing 1x everything else like a moron! 🤣🤣🤣✊

Peacock is a feature of / included with Walmart + and Walmart + is obtained through the Platinum

You pay $13.00 a month for walmart+ but you get it back in a statement credit and once on the walmart+ app, you can get peacock for free as a walmart+ benefit. I’m not a big walmart fan but I do spend at least $13 a month there no matter what so that statement credit and peacock+ are essentially “free” (Yes, you pay for it through your Amex plat card)

@@ryanccc777i think your confusing peacock with paramount plus through Walmart plus membership.
