  • *Disclaimer: some fabrics may shrink/deform/snag in the washing machine, in warm or hot water and with certain fabric conditioners. Therefore, it is best to get advice from your local dry-cleaners. For me, to avoid these issues, I washed in the bath tub, in cold water and using a liquid detergent for dedicates. The handwash detergent that I used to clean my wedding dress:

I actually just washed the exact same dress. I bought my dream dress for a great price. It has been wore. The bottom was very dirty. I washed it in the tub. And it turned out great. Planning on wearing it for my wedding in april.

You can soak the bottom blackened parts in a mixture of OxiClean or spray them with a peroxide solution. When it gets clean you can Scotch guard the bottom so it can resist future staining.

Doesn't seem to be any reason NOT to try it, depending on the material and deign of it and perhsps the value and what you intend to do with it. I have one s soaking in the tub, lol, and just couldn't see any reason for it nt to work perfectly if you are gentle and rinse well. There is a slight breeze where I am today - that will help it dry quicker and avoid any discoloring at the hem from it taking too long. I'm selling it for a very reasonable sum when I'm done if it comes out perfect - and there's really no reason for it not to...

at least she's getting the most out of it! better that than wearing once. I think her wearing it for all the races is actually good considering all the time/effort into making it. If id made it id rather see it getting this much fun out of it :)

When brand new, this dress would have cost around £1500 but I brought it second hand for £300! Bargain! I LOVE it so much!
