Pleeease make a video for the potoo bird! It is the most hilarious creature ever!
Did the text for this video get redone because of the "Grumpy Cat" references?

"They prefer delivery over takeout.", same here.
Takeaway please it's Australian.
PHRESH thank you!
It’s your new spirit animal
Loved seeing this as I recently had a Tawny frogmouth encounter whilst on a week stay in Port Macquarie (NSW). One was sitting for hours in a tree in full sight next to a 2nd level patio
I managed to get a few great photos including a yawn showing the frog like mouth, I was really surprised however to find out that it isn't actually an owl as they look so much like one.
The drawing is great too !!
Tawny frogmouths are distantly related to owls, but also to falcons and other birds of prey. And by that, I mean millions of years ago. They do have a common ancestor from which many species derive.
Tawny frogmouths are amazing! Every time I see one it's cathartic and endearing. I'm Australian and have seen them probably 5 or 6 times in my 38 years. My favourite encounter was when me and my dad (who since passed away) saw one on the street. I was driving and thankfully not too fast
Basically the Potoo of Australia speaking of Potoo's you should do that next.
Look how happy Daniel looks. Living her dream!
even their heads move similarly to the owls. convergent evolution is just fascinating - even in paleontology 🐼🐻
They’re the bird form of my grandpa lol
This is my sleep paralysis demon's sleep paralysis demon
They look kinda like the potoo. Potoos are wierd looking birds that I just barely learned about and am now obsessed with
6:02 Classic Simpson's joke.
It’s the Antipodean cousin of the Potoo!! The nest making explanation was quite amusing. They are just not into DIY I guess 🤷🏻♀️
You should do an episode on blue tongue skinks. they are in Australia.
Tawny Frogmouth’s are the like the smart, but lazy characters in shows
ah yes my spirit animal......
My dad has a video of it poking it's head threw a shed and getting camoflauged with a stick leaning on the wall which made it look like it was growing out of the stick, and he pet it with the back of his hammer and it opened his beak up and dad got scared so he recorded another video.
ERMERGERSH ITS A MUPPET!
The grumpy bird
They look like muppets lol
Frogmouth nests are hillbilly art...nice.
Thug life bird
Almost sounds like the name of an incidental character in a New York Mobster movie from the 80's: "Tony Frogmouth"
Who told yous? Dammit Donnie, I told yous dat yous was gonna pays if yous ratted.

The music fits so well with this animal. Also, this is a bird that I've never really heard about before
I agree
they occasionally fly above my house at night, only seen it once when we used a torch though
They named it after another species name 😁
I heard Rango movie vibe on it
check srilankan frogmouth you will be amaze
The narration makes everything a lot better. I love the music too, it really fits the Tawny Frogmouth.
How many of you are there???????
Again why the hell are you here
Bro y are u here

Why is that bird judging me just by staring at me? 👀
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
"The grumpiest, grouchiest, surliest little assassin in the world."
But oh soo cute. I love the little dance they do at 5:38.
Tawny frogmouth: *I'm not mad I'm just unhappy*
I did an internship at a zoo nearly 2 years ago and I got to feed crickets and horse meat to a Tawny Frogmouth named Oscar. It was a great experience.
THEY EAT HORSES?! :0
@@ImSaixe ...don't they...
RIP Grumpy Cat. Gone but not forgotten

Regalecus glesne Three?! I think I need my eyes testing, this is getting ridiculous.
Camouflage
So frogmouths are just lazy owls?
I’m intrigued
They are depressive owls
They arent related to owls tho.
Can we just talk about how Danielle's enthusiasm consistently SHINES in every video? Her dedication and love of animals is so contagious 💖
Do the Potoo next, basically the frogmouth's caffeine pumped cousin
Soba Ye yes yes!!
I thought they were the same thing I've been calling potoos and Tawnys "Derp-a- chirps" Tawnys deserve there own names...
Gasp..."Grump-a-stumps"
YES, please, make a video about the Potoo X
Potoos are just precious potato birds and I adore them
Great edition in this Australia series! Tawny Frogmouths look like they were designed by Jim Henson or George Lucas.
One of these guys lives near me, and sometimes I’ll see him staring at me when I go for my nighttime runs. There camo doest really work when they are sitting on a white fence.

Tawny Frogmouth sounds like an insult - but its actually so cute!
It honestly does
You’re just a Tawny frogmouth pony soldier! Isn’t that what Biden said? /s
Probably not next, but at some point, I'd love to have you do something on the tawny frogmouth's close relative; the potoo. Very meme-worthy birb and one that thanks to that stupid "genetically engineered owl" nonsense, has a bit of a maligned reputation.
Yeah, in Latin America they are seen as witches/evil spirits/ghosts just because of the sound they make 😅
Annnndddd they did a Potoo video. Yaeh.
I live in Paraguay. I once saved an native FrogMouth or "Urutau" that's how it's called here. It was a surreal experience. They're majestic creatures
Tawny Frogmouth. It sounds like a 1970s rock band.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please put your hands together for TAWNY FROGMOUTH!
True
They have that unimpressed look like they've been there, done that, and ate the t-shirt. It wasn't tasty.
notconvincedgranny very true they look like retired bird veterans
I love tawnies, such adorable little goofs.
5:38 *Sassy head movement* Oh heck no!
Lol
Oh gosh, these guys are my second-favourite birds, right after penguins! Thanks to their giant mouth and expressive eyes, they look like real-life Muppets!
I was kind of disappointed when the drawing process was skipped, but then I realized we were having an in person episode. Really awesome.
This might be my new favorite bird after the cassowary. Birds are such wonderful creatures.
Quolls are interesting. Similar to a North American Opossum. Not many people outside of Australia know of them.
Or Bilbies, Australian Easter Bunny.
The eyes and pointed beak remind me of shoebills.
4:22 “One of their most striking features are their giant eyes”
On cue the Frogmouth stares deep into my soul
Tawny frogmouth: They grump cat of birds
WwwWHAT. What!! How have I never heard of them before! They're the best things EVER.
The tawny frogmouth is a huge mood.
why do i feel like if dwarfs turn into a bird species, this would be them xD
😂😂
I had never heard of Nightjars, and I have only ever seen a photo of a frogmouth without knowing what it was. Thanks for the new info!
5:02, Stoned Frogmouth
I actually have two of these birds living on a tree in front of our house. And yes I’m in Australia.
We had a tawny frogmouth on our walkies route that my dog would play with every night. They'd have a chat. Loudly. At 2 o'clock in the morning sometimes ( I'm a shift worker,) here's an example of the dialogue:
Dog: Arf arf!
Tawny: Crrrrackleackleackleararararara!
Dog: Hwoo woo woo woo?
Tawny: Currrakakakakakakakaka?
Etc. You get the idea. I'd have to stand on the street corner and wait as they'd catch up. 🙄😆
I love these birds every facial expression they make is both cute and hilarious.
Alright but let's talk about the Great Potoo
OMG, The return of the Ghost-Type t-shirt! I want it soooooooooo bad!
Did you guys know birds are reptiles? Google it
Woah
U inspire me danielle ❤️ i want to become like you. Its fun exploring and learning new things plus paintings ! Cmon painting is one of my fav hobby. ☺️ Becoming like u is my dream and i will accomplish it sooner or later for sure.
Thankyou dear ❤️

Danielle has been gnomed
You hace earned a like my friend here you deserve it
4:21 Every episode of the Office
I saw one in the wild with a broken wing but I helped it and took it back to the wild
I've never heard about it before 😨
Now I'm fall in love 😻😻😻
Aw this was great! It would be so cool to cover the Potoo as well in the future! They're like the derpiest birds I have ever seen and I love them for it lol. Love the stance they and Frogmouths take to look like a branch. On another note, Danielle's shirt is amazing! 🖤
Here in brazil they are called "urutau" or "dama da noite" lady of the night
After this one I would love to know some more about their relative the Potoo!
These guys are like living puppets😂❤️
3:52 OMG OMG, that tiny eyebrow move! So cute.
We have a nest of these birds every year, we know that they are there yet spotting them is a real challenge.
Love the Pokémon top and the new episode. Thank you for helping me learn so much about animals. 😁
Woww!!! you are wearing ghost type t-shirt 😍😍😍 My favorite typing😍😍😍
Wow your energy is
congratulations! So glad everything went great for you. Congrats again and have a great week ..Great
Thanks for profiling one of our fantastic Aussie nightbirds. We actually have 3 species of frogmouth: Tawny, Marbled and Papuan - Tawny is the only endemic with the latter two also occurring in PNG.
Added to my list of animals i love
Tawny frogmouths might look like owls, but some of the other frogmouths look less like owls and much more like potoos. And in fact, this makes a lot of sense; recent evidence demonstrates that frogmouths might be closer relatives of potoos than they are of nightjars. Behaviorally-speaking, frogmouths also have a lot of similarities with potoos.
That frog is basically my relationship with my girlfriend,
Get it I can’t find a relationship
"Wtf is that?! Oh it's a tawney. Scared the shit outa me". Aussie proverb.
Keep up the great content. Much appreciated
They look like an old man without his dentures, I love it
Danielle is like that younger sister that gets attacked by plastic bags and sometimes a tumbleweed and you're just there filming a bird "side-eyeing" her. 😂
It is very similar to the "Guajojó" a bird that is found in Bolivian eastern lowlands and is the subject of many obscure legends.
Honestly I don't think that's a tawny frogmouth, for me that's a tired accountant 🤣🤣
My ex girlfriend is the Master of Camouflage. I later found out that she was really a SNAKE
I'm watching this hunching near the toilet bowl while throwing up my foods that I ate after drinking 6 tanduay dark long neck.. And I can't see anything but I like the audio mm
7:09 That one looks like if guests came over and it was not in the mood for human interaction at all so it wants to ignore them in hopes of not getting dragged into an awkward conversation when it just wants to eat a sandwich.
The trumpet music has added to the charm of interest in this description of the lovely creature.
I dont know what I prefer, the bird or your pokemon shirt (^0^)
At 4:35 it
kinda looks like gizmo from gremlins 😂
I thought that too!
Do one on the Potoo! also known as Urutau in Brazil. It looks so derpy =P
Since you seem to be on an Australian streak, can you do kookaburras next?
In South America there is a bird named Urutau, or Mãe da Lua (mother of the Moon) because he sings during the nights. Certainly they are relatives.
Correct!
Urutau are members of the nightjar family too, so they are related.
Cmon, we all know it’s the *sword*
There’s 2 of these guys that live in my tree. They are so grumpy.
you should talk about the star-nosed mole. i dont like it but it might be interesting
Have we found the true identity of the West Virginia Moth Man?
