❤ C.S. Lewis. "Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one-the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts."
Thank you for this quote from C. S. Lewis ! I was looking for it ! This Document is taking the Church down the Slippery Slope! Pope Francis loves CONFUSION ! Pope Benedict was so very CLEAR with his Documents ! THANK YOU !
I don't agree with you about Pope Francis. While I don't agree with his many non-salvation views such as Climate Change, to suggest that he wants confusion in the Church is just plain wrong. Remember, St. Pio warned his followers about slandering those who hold position within the Church.@@marjoriehoglund8754
@@marjoriehoglund8754Catholics quoting that prottie C.S.Lewis are hilarious. Especially when they think it makes them seem intelligent to quote that persistant heretic, who died impenitent, as a way of “ proving a point” that they make in opposition to what a good, Holy, Catholic priest like Father Mark is TEACHING.😢
@@marjoriehoglund8754 You really don't know what you're talking about. The declaration was in response to the bishops in Germany who answered the Pope's response to their Dubia in 2021 by creating ritual/liturgical blessings for same sex couples within their "synodal way." This declaration shuts that down, whilst giving priests the guidelines necessary for the evangelization of a same-sex couple approaching them spontaneously for a blessing. The "slippery" slope was leveled! I would also caution you to speak in more charitable tones about our Holy Father, and to be careful about criticizing the Magisterium. You are possibly in danger of a grave sin. Also consider that while you are right in praising Pope Benedict XVI (a very pious and astute leader), the Church was not without unfair criticism and scandalous manipulation of her reputation under his reign either. We're Catholic! We're always going to be damned if we do, or damned if we don't in the secular world.
Blessing an individual with SSA is no different than blessing any one person--we all struggle with sin, many habitually. But blessing a homosexual COUPLE is a very different message! 🙏✝️
Exactly. And it’s THIS that makes the document very sneaky. Please watch Timothy Gordon’s video on this today. Pope Francis’ trick….. he explains the historical underlying timeline of how and why he was elected by the St Gallen mafia. To accomplish for them exactly these 180 degree changes from within. It’s as sad as shocking, but history has on record many tragedies that are also shocking and scandalous. We must pray for ourselves first that we can hold fast to the Eternal Truth of the Faith, and for our loved ones too, that none are lost in this storm of chaos, and for our shepherds. So many will be divided now, and cardinals are already against cardinals as Our Blessed Mother said. And pray for pope Francis. His soul is as precious to the Lord as anyone’s is. 🙏🏼
Yes! You have articulated my concern about this announcement (I couldn't put my finger on it) And the document indicates that the blessing should be given discretely so as not to cause scandal, but the scandal has already been caused by making this announcement and allowing the media to do their usual job on it.
@@lotusblue8945 Where does it say that the blessing should be given "discretely". From my reading it just says that to avoid scandal it shouldn't resemble a wedding.
@@EndTimesMysteries The new document does not promote the blessing of sin, because as Pope Francis and the Vatican already declared in 2021; "the Church can not bless sin."
@@csongorarpad4670 In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
“Why [are] they asking this blessing as a couple, not as a single person? Of course, a single person who has this problem with same-sex affection can come and ask a blessing to overcome the temptations, to be able, with the grace of God, to live chastely. But as a single person, he will not come with his partner - this will be a contradiction in his way to live according to the will of God.” -Bishop Athanasius Schneider, December 19, 2023.
Agree, but if they come together bless each of them individually and let the blessing encourage chastity, don’t give a joint blessing. I trust most faithful priests will figure this out due to their pastoral wisdom, without having to have it spelled out as a list of instructions. Let’s just place trust in Jesus who works through our faithful priests. Maybe raising this issue as has been done now will lead to catechesis of persons who have stayed away. Let us entrust to God in prayer and in support of our priests, to work good out of what we perceive as disordered.
Dear@@nml5802, agreed. FS allows for blessing the couple as individuals. The priest has no set standard of prayers except that of charity and evangelization. FS is written this way deliberately. Thank you for your understanding comment!
What is the intent of the couple? Do they want a close intimate relationship with Jesus and are struggling and wrestling with God together? Could it be? I remember I was with my niece trying to support her to gain entry into a detox centre. The place was pretty full so not everyone would get in. The people that were sent away were a young couple that came in together. It was explained to me that couples were not likely to succeed.
No matter the fine print in the document, the gay couple coming for a blessing are celebrating their relationship, not coming as a couple in an attitude of contrition and amendment of life. They want a divine “stamp of approval” to enjoy God endorsing their unions, and that’s your blessing.
Not necessarily. Some people do start experiencing conversion while living that lifestyle. Imagine a a couple who’ve lived together in sin for a long time, and then beginning to experience conversion and being remorseful for their sin. That can be a big adjustment to separate from one another if they’ve made a life together. They might come seeking grace to strengthen and help them out. The priest can use his discretion if he discerns them to be sincere or just arrogantly seeking approval or trying to make a statement, and the fact that it’s meant to be spontaneous, private, and non-liturgical is meant to avoid people coming to make a statement.
@@SobreEstaRoca yeah but I wouldn’t know how rare. The same would also apply to heterosexual “couples.” I’m just imagining that the situation could be more complicated than just giving up sin and separating for people who’ve built lives together. They might want some additional help and need more grace.
@@tessa7413- most likely it would be one of the couple wanting to make a break - not the couple itself. I have to agree that's it's very unlikely a couple would come in and way "we want to repent"
Please pray for my oldest son Father. As a devout practicing Catholic mother I'm praying for his conversion from sin and that he returns to the church.
Thank you, Teresa. My brother, who was molested by a priest also struggles with homosexuality and Fr Goring is deceived. It's like an intellectual rape for your son and / or my brother to bless their mortally sinful relationships... In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
Are we not supposed to be repenting and working on being holy not sinful❤ we all have gay people in our lives whether we work with them in our families our neighbors and we love them BUT would God want this done in his house this is the big question I don't think he does😢 I think this is a huge slap in God's face😢
I walked away from the homosexual life-style (in it nearly 30 years). With the Grace of The Holy Trinity I returned, fully, to the Church and sincerely enjoy my celibate life-style ( for many years now) and recognize, fully, the negative aspects of living actively as a homosexual. This will offend, I know. Too add: my homosexual life-style was played out in Los Angeles, California.
We are not casting out or telling them to go away...WE ARE TELLING THEM WHAT JESUS said: GO & SIN NO MORE!! Go to confession, separate from irregular relationships & then ask for a blessing to continue in virtue!
Thanks Father I agree but where this can be exploited by couples is the fact that they can be blessed together, that's my understanding, it gives the impression that their union is being blessed. It would be much better if it was only used to bless one person at a time.
Here is the big disconnect! Why bless COUPLE! Now, Fr. Martin is rejoicing to have finally blessed same sex couples. Why make this FS document when it has always been the practice of the Church to always bless sinners whoever you are?! Why sow this confusion? Surely, the authors are not naive to think of the possible global impact of this document especially among liberal priests, especially the priests in Germany! This document is problematic; and I really wonder why Fr. Mark is not a bit alarmed of the havoc this will cause to the very souls of the people whom this FS is supposedly intended to reform. Time will tell the fruits of this document that tries to compromise, work around the fast rules of our doctrine. If conversion is what the Church intends to accomplish, God has given us the complete solution in all of the 7 Sacraments. There’s nothing more you can ask for from the Goodness of God.
Thank you, Father! Your words remind of how Jesus spoke to the woman caught in adultery. He did not condemn her, but told her to go and sin no more! He still told her that her actions were sinful, but she could repent and find mercy!
@@G-MIP I totally disagree. I think this is what Pope Benedict XV1 was talking about when he use the phrase “false mercy”. To confirm them in their sin without repentance is faults mercy
My dear fellow pilgrim, they can! The priest is not limited! These informal blessings are quite limited in that they cannot lead to same-sex pseudo-marriage! As Fr. Mark said, the Declaration is brilliant! Yes, it is written by priests to priests, so maybe we lay people are missing something, but when a faithful priest like Fr. Mark tells us there is nothing wrong with the document, I think we should listen, don't you?
Dear@@stevetodd693, Merry Christmas! Are you talking about the same Bible that tells us to bless our enemies? I am teasing you a little. FS does not insist that priests always have to bless those who come to them asking for God's mercy. If there is no privacy, if there is going to be some scandal, if there is the least whiff that the couple is looking for legitimacy, then of course the priest is not to give the blessing.
@@stevetodd693 Yes, your mind is quite simple. That's why you don't realize that what you follow in the bible is a reflection of your own conscience. Leviticus says "stone the adulterer" Jesus says "no, unless you are with no sin, unless you think you are any less sinner than her." Paul, on the other hand, says "the hell with sinners (and unbelievers)", so, who should you follow?
@@Eunoia-hv3gm "Then Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they're doing...'" Luke 23:34 See? Nobody was asking for forgiveness. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. Matthew 23:23 Are you too neglecting the former?
Fr Mark, I pray for you and for all priests and especially for the Holy Father everyday because I realise you are at the forefront of this battle. You can't bless evil in any form. We have to uphold life over death. Monica
You clearly haven’t gotten your information right and from the right source. The document was a response to the church in Germany who wanted to develop a process to legitimize same sex unions. Please let Vatican news be your source and not CNN.
Unfortunately…Fr Mark is blind to the evil and confusion within this document that does not call for repentance. Fr Mark needs our prayers to have his eyes opened.
One cannot be so naive to think that the consequences we now see immediately after were unexpected. Can we really believe they did not foresee this? And closing it with “no further discussions”?
The issue in play here is that this document WILL be used to justify and legitimize abominable relationships between individuals with no plans nor inclination to change behavior. All these issues were already resolved. The deliberate purpose of this document was for it to be used as a weapon of furthering division, confusion, concern, fear, and schism. This purpose is fulfilled with this document. That is the real issue in play, division.
Dear Father, I appreciated your video yesterday in regards to the solid take on the new document. Whew! But. My experience of growing up w a closeted gay father who came out in my 20s (40 years ago) taught me this: Gays who present as high functioning ‘normal’ want More Than Anything to have their lifestyle accepted. This desire is powerful & has motivated politics to the point we are at now. Don’t be naive-this document in practice has opened a door for scandals like the recent NY Times article & potential for legal issues. Refusing to bake a gay wedding cake will seem like child’s play. The passion for acceptance runs deep in the gay community.
Father Mark, while it is poignant to examine a single step it is also appropriate to pay attention to the general direction of that step. When we don't practice that due diligence, a few decades fly by and before you know it you have evil people legitimizing evil things. The phrase "well that's not a big deal it's just a small thing it won't lead anywhere" has been uttered a million times since the 60's. And so here we are in a world miles from where we once were because we ceded those miles an inch at a time with that very phrase on our lips.
I agree. Communion in the hand traced this very path. It became open to interpretation. There are already dioceses in Germany who are actually scheduling blessing ceremonies for gay couples. Father, this has opened the floodgates whether it was the intention or not.
Dear@@tdeo2141you are right!! The German Synodal Way has been hijacking the German Catholic churches, and the pope is doing his best to stop it The Declaration, Fiducia supplicans (FS), is a tool to STOP the liberals in their tracks! So, FS uses the language of the German Synodal Way to tell them NO -- no, ceremonies are not to be in church, with witnesses and rings and flowers. Any blessing of couples (which is a trademark phrase of the German Synodal Way, so it's like saying to them, "We're talking to YOU, Buddy!") has to be spontaneous (not like Fr. James Martin with his photographer and his New York Times reporter!) and private. Cardinal Fernandez is not troubled is the blessings do not take place, if the local bishops all across the globe decide not to implement FS at all, as long as their theology is correct. As long as the German Synodal Way implements it, and stops their horrible public quasi-weddings!! Let us pray for the success of the pope against the liberals in Europe! We can hold the line against our liberals here! Right?
Fr Mark. I agree with both of the two previous comments. What you have said is naive. I predict that within months you will see priests like James Martin performing blessings for same-sex couples that look no different from weddings , best men, flowers and all. This inch at a time approach has happened repeatedly in history. What would have happened had Neville Chamberlain stood up to Hitler? All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.
Dear@@ronalddavis6430, bless you for your concern for the Church. WE members of the Church desire so desperately that She be found pure and without spot as the Bride of Christ. But I think your accusation that Fr. Mark is being naive is a little misplaced. I think that he, as a priest, has heard more confessions of evil, and understands the ways of evil, far better than you or I could ever do. Secondly, please re-read paragraph 4 of FS. This is the foundation upon which FS is built. Here it is: "4. Pope Francis’ recent response to the second of the five questions posed by two Cardinals[2023 "Respuestas a los Dubia" 2] offers an opportunity to explore this issue further, especially in its pastoral implications. *It is a matter of avoiding that "something that is not marriage is being recognized as marriage."*[Ibid. 2 c] Therefore, *rites and prayers that could create confusion between what constitutes marriage* - which is the “exclusive, stable, and indissoluble union between a man and a woman, naturally open to the generation of children”[Ibid. 2 a] - *and what contradicts it* are *inadmissible*. This conviction is grounded in the perennial Catholic doctrine of marriage; it is only in this context that sexual relations find their natural, proper, and fully human meaning. The Church’s doctrine on this point remains firm." When FS is talking about being "pastoral", it says, it is being concerned with YOU, sir, with YOUR CONCERNS. YOu should be dancing in the streets! And the rest of the document builds on this theme -- that only Marriages will be blessed by the Church.
indeed, if nothing has changed why is there anything written at all? this looks like the beginning of one of those slippery slopes - and very open to whatever interpretations or misinterpretations are wanted. I, for one, am again embarrassed for my Church in the face of an evangelical friend who already thinks the Catholic Church is evil. How on earth can I defend this?!
Amen Dear Fr. Mark! Thank You- Yes, “We Cannot Bless Sin!” 🙏🙏🙏 Yes, “Accompanying people in their struggles.” 🙏🙏🙏 We love the sinner and hate the sin. 🙏💕🙏 We love you and know that you are doing Gods Will! My family keeps you in our daily prayers! Viva Cristo Rey! 😊🙏💒💕🕊️🔥✝️
To not give counsel to a couple in a mortally sinful relationship to get out of that relationship that will only lead them to hell and instead invoke a blessing is very sick and wrong. In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
From the layman's point of view, that declaration has spawned CONFUSION period. The Magisterium is charged with clarifying, not confusing, and dividing.
What is confusing about the document is that it mentioned couples, now if two men are asking for a blessing, that doesn't suggest that they are repentant, or about to change their lifestyle.
Fr would it not be better than giving ‘spontaneous’ blessings, to say I will give you both forgiveness and Gods blessings in the Sacrament of Confession? This I believe is a much loving way to help those that lose their way ,as we all do .Our Lord so many times before healing a bodily ailment said ‘your sins are forgiven’🙏
But How can you forgive them their sins if they are married and going to walk straight out of the confessional and back to their marriage. Jesus also said “go and sin no more”.
Repentance is essential. So is some degree of contrition. They're neither repentant nor contrite if they're holding hands while Father James Martin is "blessing" them in front of New York Times cameras, as famously happened in one case. That was outright defiance.
Yes, father, "todos", but you can not give a blessing, simultaneous or otherwise, to a couple involved in homosexuality. That would be confirming them in their sin. As another viewer has said, invite them to confession instead. That would be the real blessing that each one needs-- the Divine Blessing.
So beautifully and humbly spoken!!!! Thank you Father!!! May God and His Holy Mother continue to bless you and protect you!! You are truly a great Spiritual Father to us your flock!!🙏❤️
no one is saying you can't bless them or cast away them... But document saying "blessings for same sex couples" , father why can't you see the error in this , a couple means two person in union , who are continuing their sinful relationship, by not considering church teachings " What type of blessings will they get?
Already, several Bishops Conferences around the world have issued directions to the clergy that, under no circumstances, are blessings of any kind to be offered to same sex “couple”. By presenting themselves to Priest as a “couple” they are presenting themselves as two people who have committed themselves to join their bodies by way of acts which the Church condemns as mortal sin. The Pope got it right in 2021. Now, he has gone off the rails.
I get the feeling the Pope wants to be all things to all people and offend nobody. Why else would he so often be so unclear?! Personally, I think this looks like the start of a slippery slope, articulated in such a way that people can wishfully think it's okay to bless sinful unions if they want.
I like that you keep focused on serving your priesthood and are not impacted at all by the noise, storms, and tsunamis. That gives me so much strength to do the same. Thank you father.
When we blessed people at Mass as they come up to receive the Eucharist, we are blessing an individual. When we give a general blessing, we are still blessing individuals. When blessing rosaries, we are blessing things. When we bless a couple we are blessing a relationship. When that couple is engaged in sinful relationship and has no intention of repentance, we are blessing sin. Sorry, No can do. If they were repentant they would not be in a perverse union (couple) but would be alone. To come as a couple for bless instead of absolution is not repentance. 1 Corinthians 5 read this, it's not the media but God's Holy word.
Simple as that, this father is going to lead millions of souls to hell if he consents to ''blessing'' these sinful relationship. Pray God spares the faithful from his wrath.
@@consecratedsoul Fr. Mark is not leading people to hell. He's still a faithful priest. MrFrenchy is quite right though in what this document lays out.
It's a very applicable verse that God gave you. This is the blessing of same sex couples and other irregular couples. It's a step in the wrong direction for sure.
Yeah, like the appearance of doing the righteous thing by discriminating against you fellow brother in need when that's exactly what the devil wants. I hope you keep this words in mind, too.
@@piesho Okay, so what is doing the righteous thing in your mind then? Marrying all the gay people in the church, blessing commonlaw couples, just throwing Christian marriage right out the window? How about ordaining openly gay priests that are in homosexual relationships? I suppose all that should be next.
@@piesho That's a straw man anyway, because any gay person, any sinner, any adulterer can come for a blessing a person and sinner and will not be turned away. Coming forward as a couple is not coming in your time of need, it is an activist stance, looking to push the church to sanctify that which is not holy or God ordained.
If they coming together to you for blessing is totally different then only one coming to you, and ask for blessing and change of his life. Fader don't balance on the rope. Chose a side. Don't be afraid to say no to that. That is what we all need to do. Little or high. 🙏
I'd like to think that maybe Fr. Mark doesn't want to add fuel to the negativity -because this controversial document is already divisive enough & ignites negative emotions from all sides. Maybe he doesn't want to add to that chaos. Anyway, he keeps repeating that he can't bless sin & that the document basically says it is up to the priest to approach the situation w/ prudence & w/o using any liturgical blessing w/c might be likened to that of the sacrament of matrimony. This for me is enough. The only thing lacking maybe is he needs to acknowledge that the document was worded in an ambiguous manner w/c may lead to various interpretations (well it already did). On the other hand, maybe he intentionally wants people not to overly focus on its ambiguity but rather to interpret it as how conservative priests would interpret it. He wants to look at the positive side & maybe also to not tire ourselves w/ analyzing or assuming the intention for issuing such a document. That it's better to keep our peace by focusing on the bright side or the possible bright side of this, and to of course always pray hard for the church & our church leaders. Well, this is juat what thought.
❤ St. Augustine: "Right is right even if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it." ❤ I still believe in this quote. The Holy Spirit will lead you and you'll know what's right and what's wrong. I certainly wouldn't do a blessing during a mass.
Fr. Dwight Longenecker First we overlook evil. Then we permit evil. Then we legalize evil. Then we promote evil. Then we celebrate evil. Then we persecute those who still call it evil. 🕊️🙏🕊️
Let me ask two things: - Is it realistic for an irregular couple to request a blessing while not (at least subconciously) claiming a legitimation of their own status? - And would it be helpful for the wellbeing of their souls if they get an impression of acknowledgement by the blessing? The answer in both cases is no. And that's what makes Fiducia supplicans wrongful - it sets confusion instead of clarification. God bless! And I respect your perspective, Father.
Yeah, that's a good point. The document may be all flawless and not in a slightest conflict with our Faith so it does not harm faithful priests, but the real question is, what is going to be the overall pastoral outcome in the actual reality? I'm afraid it's not going to be good.
So encourage blessing Lust scandal and Sodom and Gamora... also EVERY LGBTQ GROUP IN EVERY COUNTRY HAS PRAISED & WELCOMED THIS NEW SATANIC MISREPRESENTED HIDDEN AGENDA ... GIVE AN INCH SATAN 😈 TAKES A MILE wake up 😮
The answer to those questions is no...only if you presume to know what's in the souls of those asking for the blessing. Isn't judgement of your neighbor's soul a serious sin? You sound like someone who watches people go up to receive communion, questioning each one's disposition. Guess what also is not realistic: That every heterosexual receiving the blessing at the end of the concluding rite of Mass is free of sin that they legitimize (how many liars, gossipers, and masturbators are in the sanctuary during the time?) But we still say it's proper and helpful to receive the blessing, yes? And the guidelines of the declaration make it clear that the blessing is not to have any elements which would provide for the misconstruction that a sinful union is being condoned or legitimized. Furthermore, it says that a priest can say a prayer before the blessing which asks for God's grace to lead the couple into the complete will of God. That's an excellent opportunity for the couple to hear that the blessing wishes for them to live a chaste life. If there's any confusion, it is not from this document. It's from the devil who is appearing to you in the form of secular media, anti-Francis provocateurs, and anti-Catholic "Christians."
Lets say that you had multiple children with a mistress but you changed your minds and desire to become good christians and folow God´s will, wich is to live a chaste life, (since you separated from your wife a long time ago and theres no chance for reconciliation) even if you have to work together with your mistress in order to give a stable environment for your children. If you and your mistress desire a blessing in order for God to give you strenght and wisdom to do His will then wouldnt you two be able to recive such blessing?
If you need to retreat to The Wilderness some day, Fr. Mark, please do not stop broadcasting your heart to us. You are a refuge for us all. You lead us daily closer to our true refuge. Merry Holy Christmas to you and your parish team in cold Canada.
Amen - he simply needs to repent and publicaly rebuke this heretical document! In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”

Maybe you won't dismiss or "write off" this message: ruclips.net/video/h9yyM0OuFKo/видео.htmlsi=8N6Q5jWQRgLYmiPq I find it very disturbing that you fail to see that this document does not state the blessing is for people who want to be free of this sin, who want to no longer live that lifestyle! You give the blessing, yet they have no intent to let go of that sin! It's like giving a blessing to a female that's on her way to get an abortion and has no intent on not going through it!! If you can't absolve the sins of a confessor who has no intent on repenting and has no intent on no longer living in error or sin, then how can you give a blessing???!!! You need to retract what will confuse so many souls and lead them to hell.
Thank you, Fr. Goring. We must defend truth with our very lives. We cannot run away from it. We must remember that true authentic love brings one out of their sin & into the Kingdom of God. It's funny Fr. Mark is making a second video on this. The problem people have with the document is clear. The document says "blessing for same sex couple"; that sentence is the problem father. This means in many people opinion, and mine, as well that we are recognizing them as couple. Giving them blessings individually is fine, but giving blessings to "same sex couple" is the problem. What's the bond by which they're being blessed together here? Their relationship. Anyway, God's will be done. That doc change nothing to my Faith but it clearly create breach for people to exploit and for the Church's name to be stained. Nothing new.
The people who will try to come to a priest to ask for these “couple” blessings are not trying to repent. If they were trying to repent they would come alone and go to confession. May God protect our faithful priests.
Why is everyone avoiding that particular statement. God is making something clear about the Church here and rather than calling for fasting and prayer we are spending valuable time trying to excuse the inexcusable. And the timing is nothing short of evil.
I agree. I am sad that, still Father is trying to make it about blessings. It is not about blessing individuals, when a couple say bless us. Just like you said. It’s the relationship. Yes, we need to help the lost children to come back. Yes, we need love each other and to live the way God wants us to live. Blessing individuals, fine. Blessing your pets on the Feast of St. Francis, fine. Blessing school kids, fine. Everyone can definitely use a blessing from God, but to bless something that is considered wrong in the Word, then is it just a blessing? Or opening a door to other things? There is no limit then. Bless this person because they are about to commit suicide and want God to say it’s okay.
Hello everyone here reading this - I have a huge favor to ask you. Please would you keep my friend Derek Longmuir in your prayers? I still believe that blessing couples in irregular situations is where the problem lies. It isn’t legitimizing a civil marriage or civil union, but the coupleship IS being blessed even though they should not be a couple. That’s close to where the US Episcopalians and Canadian Anglicans began to go off the rails.
@@ValentinaKajcinovska I was going to ask the same question: are you serious? He generally speaks the truth, yes, but this time, I do not know whether it is because they are all scared of the authoritarian pope who does not hesitate to sack bishops and priests as if they were mere employees of his private company, or Whether he chose to be in deny because the truth is so hurtful and unimaginable. I personally almost had heart attack last Monday, I am not exaggerating. It looks like some usually outspeaking priests are pretending to read the opposite of what is written on the document. I understand this is a form of psychological attempt of defence in front of what is perceived as a great danger, but I wish they just kept quiet, instead of using their influential platforms to mislead people. After such public endorsement, they lose all authority to preach about the need of repentance, the salvation of souls or the Cross. After such endorsement, you can say do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not commit abortion [instead of preaching chastity and walking in holiness], which is what Team Bergoglio wants. He wants the Church to become just an empire in which it is all about saving the planet, welcoming migrants [instead of speaking up against rampant corruption and abusive exploitation and inequal redistribution of resources in the countries peoples are fleeing from for instance] r caring for the poor…What is the difference with freemasons or other cults? Nothing, except that they are forcing their ungodly laws on members who did not choose to be part of a cult, and that they are doing this on purpose: stealing what belongs to the Holy of holies because as the Bible tells us, the devil comes to steal, destroy, and kill. We, lay people need to force our priests and bishops to choose their camps. This is not a mere incident, it is spiritual war becoming physically visual as the enemy does not even hide his agenda today, confirming that the end is near.
Loved Fr Chris Alar’s break down of the document “We can bless the sinner, not the sin” on the Divine Mercy channel posted about a day ago. He isolated that the confusion lies in the word “couple,” but essentially the document doesn’t change anything doctrinal. I linked that video to all my family. God bless you Fr Goring!
Yes I've seen Father Alar's post and he does give the most understanding of the Pope's blessing to bad our Pope didn't word his blessing as not to stir so much confusion,
Thanks again Fr Mark. I’ve sent your videos on this to all my Catholic friends and family. When Jesus blessed (showed love) to the sinner, he didn’t bless ( show love) for the sin. In fact he said “ go and sin no more”
Father Mark, you are a good priest. Unfortunately, we have to read this latest directive from the Vatican from the bottom up and not the top down. Our God is not a God of confusion. When Our Lord says in Matthew 5:37 " Say only yes if you mean yes, and no if you mean no. If you say more than yes or no, it is from the Evil One.", He is directly condemning any double talk especially when it comes from offices as high as this papacy. Keep pitching - we know you have a good heart.
Father Goring. The Document repeated this word throughout " COUPLES". No mistake about it. It calls for blessing of UNION of same-sex couples and of anything "Irregular" depending on how that word might be interpreted down the line. We are being torn apart from within........
Here are some synonyms for "irregular"--crooked, contrary to the rules, improper, incorrect. In 2357 of the RC catechism these "unions" are referred to "disordered" and contrary to natural law. Synonyms for "disordered" are disturbed, dysfunctional, unsound and unstable. I hope these blessings are not taken lightly. Reminds me of when Jesus cured the lame man in John 5:14: Afterwards, Jesus findeth him in the temple, and saith to him: "Behold thou art made whole: sin no more, lest some worse thing happen to thee."
if i am a priest going to bless a same-sex union, I will say 'I BLESS THIS UNION TO BREAK IT APART BECAUSE IT IS A SINFUL UNION. MAY THE COUPLE BE STRONG AND HAPPY AS THEY UNDERGO THE PAIN OF SUFFERING. AMEN.
Blessing the individuals can easily be construed as blessing the COUPLE as a couple, not as two individuals. I think that it's very unlikely that a gay couple is going to go to a priest and ask him for a blessing so that they can repent.
They probably aren’t repentant, as you say, but the scandal of this is already loud and clear. A publicized event by SJ James Martin and surely other corrupt priests happened within 24 hours of this documents publication. Do the priests and laity defending this document realize scandal is also a sin!
Fr Mark, I, middle aged, mother of 5, married 40 years here, appreciate the clear commentary that you are providing to us on this recent letter. I'll hold your beer while you've got this!! (I read and loved your book!)

In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.” + True love wants the best for everyone. The document makes no mention of sin, repentance, Confession, hell, etc. To not give counsel to a couple in a mortally sinful relationship to get out of that relationship that will only lead them to hell and instead invoke a blessing is wrong. +++ Viva Cristo Rey!
Well said, Fr. Mark! Just yesterday, my own parish priest also said, as you have done, that there’s nothing new in this, and yes, we definitely need to care for everyone. To be a Christian is to be Christ-like - filled with love and compassion for our neighbours. God bless you.🕊🙏🏻
Amen! Like he said, we should probably keep in the loop with things going on, but not one single person here on earth can judge anyone else, only God can do that. We are here to pass His light to everyone, even in absolute truth. It seems there is a fine line between bringing truth to everyone and judging their souls. I am currently working on only bringing truth and not judging. Letting God be the judge.
From what I understand the loophole seems to be the "couple" idea which is mentioned in the document, is the worrying thing where the ambiguity is...of course otherwise a beautifully crafted, well written document. If good Cardinals and Bishops see a problem with it, then I listen to them. God bless you Father❤❤I also think that if 2 people in irregular relationship go separately to a priest for a blessing and really desire to change their lives, then there's no problem.
Thank you Father Mark for clearing up the confusion.. For a moment after all the news my heart sank, but thanks to you and Michael Lofton I am proud to belong to the true church of Jesus Christ 🙏🙏🙏

I appreciate your take on this Father! As always, you’re a voice of reason and comfort. My only concern is regarding the many priests out there who are not conservative and the ways they may abuse this and twist it for their agenda.
I think it should be noted that those who would do that to this document do that to scripture anyways. They don’t need this document to twist, yes they will, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad document.
but eventually those priests will answer to God...meanwhile we pray for the deceived, the confused, and all who need to repent.to come to the saving knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
As the bishops in Africa pointed out, there is nothing the document that mentions repentance for their sinfulness before asking for blessings. That is why they are taking a stand against the document. God bless the bishops in Africa. As Jesus said…go and sin no more.
Telling people that they are in sin and need to repent is not pushing them away. If that is the case, then Jesus went about pushing people away. On the contrary, it's giving them hope that there is a better way. Too bad even a priest does not see that.
No, that is not necessarily the case. If the two people ask for a specific blessing that does not validate their union then it is permissible. The document clearly says that the blessing should not validate their sinful union. If they come asking to be blessed because they are "recognizing themselves destitute and in need of God's help" then the people can be blessed. It is not required to be be perfectly morally blameless to receive a blessing like this that opens them up to the mercy of God and (we pray) leads them to repentance.
@@PrayNow4all Pointing what out? this is not a good argument. See my comment above. Not every blessing requested by people who might be gay is inadmissible. If they request a blessing begging God for his mercy and his help, such a blessing does not validate their union and their sin but opens them up to mercy!
Don't allow the pressure from outside get to you Father! You have done an outstanding job reporting on this issue. Thank you for speaking truthfully and being faithful to God and his Church. You are in my prayers. God bless!
I would think blessing them individually along with a talk about repentance would be ok. "Go and sin no more..." but if you bless the union, you legitimize their sin, thus sending a very mixed message, and leading them astray.
What you say Fr Mark about there being nothing new in this is what stands out the most to me. Since there is nothing really new in this, what is the purpose? That is what strikes me the most. What is the purpose?
Thankyou for your faithfulness to Holy Mother Church and to our precious Christ crucified. I can’t tell you how much your messages mean to us Fr Mark! Viva Christo Rey!
I'm sorry that he's not being faithful to Holy Mother Church. In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
The full name of the "CDF," as mentioned here is the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. This is the department that was headed by Josef Cardinal Ratzinger, who later became Pope Benedict XVI. You stated that "the Church does not have the 'power to give blessing to unions of persons of the same sex," The operative word here is "unions." Father Goring is not saying anything about any kind of blessing of unions. His concern is with individuals; that is, people who are earnestly trying to repent of any such behavior, who want to stop sin in their lives and become reconciled with God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Father Goring states that a priest is not going to bless sin. A priest is not going to call good evil and evil good. This would be in direct conflict with the 2021 statement by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Therefore, Father Goring's statement is perfectly faithful to Holy Mother Church. @@MPFXT
I'm thinking one aspect of this document is to pinpoint "traditionalists" in the clergy for "re-education" or to be "Stricklanded". This might be a method of purging the ranks of those who are most apt to be resistant to the changes the Curia wants to implement.
I am in RCIA right now and I am struggling with how it's so divisive. Some priests are celebrating sin with no recourse, and then you have a whole continent that rejects the document. It has been hard to watch, and hard to listen to and read what the Pope releases. The priest in my parish told me to pray for the pope and continue to read the catechism again and read the Bible over again which I am doing. God Bless and thank you for the video.
I got confirmed in the Catholic church 3 years ago on Easter vigil. I do not regret one moment of it. In fact, becoming Catholic is the greatest joy of my life; Holy Mass is the highlight of my day. AND I am hard right on doctrine, strict and zealous. So I have concerns about how Vatican communication seems to be unclear so often. My point is, don't let the things you cannot control have a negative impact on your spiritual journey. The Catholic Church is the true body of Christ on earth, and her teachings contain EVERYTHING you need for advancing in virtue, and the salvation of your soul. Don't give up! Fight the good fight of faith!
The Pope is a human being and a very flawed one at that. Jesus is the head of the Catholic Church so we will follow His teaching and not the sinful ones that Bergoglio puts out. With humans there is always corruption but we must persevere because no other church has Jesus in the Eucharist..
You're right on the money father. Thank you for your voice on this. There are so many despairing saying that the magisterium taught error. Nothing has changed, Christ continues to reign over his church.
The documents / magisterium was not touched. This is NOT A DOGMATIC document. I need to read the document. But like so many, I am troubled by the ambiguity that is like a cloud hanging over us. Fr. Mark is correct. ALL SINNERS who are struggling with any sin, must be loved and supported during the trials.
@@katherinec.1497 I'm told it's not a magesterial document, that it's merely a Vatican document ordered by the pope. I'm not sure what the difference is? It's still a problem, as even though it doesn't chance doctrine outright, it's opening the door and is clearly blessing same sex couples. Many are looking the other way and saying there's no problem, because it doesn't bless same sex unions. Its still blesses the couple stepping forward in a sinful relationship. It's happening at the same time as the Anglicans are doing this. To say there's no problem is naive, yet so many are.

If not, then is this not proof that this diabolical instrument has caused you to fall from grace? The ordinary magisterium is what the Church has always taught. Now you are not only a lying, falsely accusing hypocrite heretic who promotes disgusting displays of public sin being 'blessed' both scandalizing and demoralizing the faithful and the innocents, and also persecuting the faithful, both priests and laity, who refuse to accept this blasphemy, but now also are lying about what the Church teaches, what the ordinary magisterium is, and who has the authority to do what, to say what, to order others to do, say, or approve what. That's quite a list of bad fruit for only a few days' worth of being under this spell. Or were you like this before?
I’m not sure most priests are conservative, Father… if they were, we wouldn’t be in the scandalous situation we are in as the body of Christ. May the Lord have mercy on us in these evil times.
You don't bless people living in a sinful situation (adultery, homosex) you call them to repentance. The gospel call to repentance, faith, and holiness is the only blessing they need. The Vatican doesn't want you to give these people the gospel. It's that simple. The Vatican wants you to keep quiet. It's the old "Don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Thank you, Father Mark for your comments. Unfortunately, the American press have no moral difficulties in "misinterpreting" and outright lies to the public in their efforts to generate profits. I've seen it firsthand. Your efforts to guide us in the truth are greatly appreciated. Pax.
I agree with your take Father and that this is an entirely orthodox document. But there are more progressive priests which are using this document to bless sin. I think that is the real source of scandal.
Thanks Fr. Mark for taking the time to read, absorb and then openly comment on the document. I have had mixed feelings but appreciate your clarity. In some respects I think we are on the 'slippery slope' recognizing how things often get worse, when we say 'yes' to some things. I have read the document and wish somewhere was a reference to the need for chastity in all irregular and/or same-sex relationships. God Bless you Fr. Mark!!
I understand the doctrine. I read it yesterday. Bless the sinners but you do not bless the sinners. That holds true for all of us. We are all sinners. I am a divorced catholic and do not receive Holy Communion but I do go and ask for a blessing from our Priest. The blessing supports my quest to pick up my cross every day.
Divorce does not bar you from Communion. Unless you are in a new illicit relationship without an annulment. If you are no priest should bless that relationship because it is sinful. That is true of blessing gay couples. The document is not referring to individual blessings.
It is unfortunate there is still so much misinformation when it comes to the pain of divorce. It is remarriage, not divorce itself that prevents receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Talk to your parish priest, and make use of the Sacrament of Reconciliation if you at all feel unsure.
The document is introducing not the blessing of individuals but of couples engaging in mortal sin as defined by the magisterium. The blessing of sinful UNIONS is the crux of this mandate, not individuals which has always been granted by the Church.
@@jackiefersal2187 This is a big step in the wrong direction, and it's somewhere in between. Which is a sneaky step and how the devil works. It doesn't call to bless the same sex union yet, but it's not a mere allowance to bless individuals. It's a call to bless same sex or other illicit couples.
But you were blessed to move your heart toward God first - you were blessed to have some souls in your life, perhaps, praying for you, you were blessed to move forward and be true to grace given having been blessed by that grace.
Father Mark, I understand what you’re saying and I agree with you. That is how conservative priest viewed the document and it’s beautiful. But not all priest in the world are conservative and that’s where the problem lies. I have been following you since 2020 Father Goring. The impact you have made on my life is huge. I was not an active Catholic when I was surfing you tube the day I found you. Because of you I have become a Catholic that is back on the path and trying to become better. I once saw you interview Bishop Strickland. He has issued a statement on these blessings and asked his fellow Bishops to say no to these blessings. Do you have a comment on Bishop Stricklands statement on these blessings? I personally do not support blessing same sex couples as a couple. If an individual wants a blessing that is a different thing. Why can't gay couples get blessed as individuals that are struggling with sin and wanting a blessing to get out of a sinful life? Have priests ever denied a person that is a sinner that has approached and asked for a blessing to get out of a sinful life? I would venture to guess no. The point here is that the blessing is being allowed to gay couples living in a sinful life and approaching as a couple for a blessing. The Definition of "Couple is the following -- two people who are married, engaged or otherwise associated romantically or sexually." So approaching a Priest as a gay couple for a blessing means the they are in a same sex relationship romantically or sexually. I am guessing that is why Bishop Strickland and Bishop Schneider ( hope I have that spelling right) have taken issue with it.

We also need to realize why this declaration was made. It is in direct response to the German bishops formulating a liturgical ceremony to celebrate SS unions. This declaration tells them NO!
Father Mark, thank you for explaining this document. I better understand it. Also I'm especially thankful for the comment at the end about casting off people who are living in sin and struggling with that sin. amen even sinners need blessings thankyou Fr Mark I was away from the faith for over 40 years on ocassion attend mass with my parents and always received a blessing in a most sinful state of mortal sin and now im back
Dear Father. You asked for opinions. I read the document. It is easy to see how it can lull us, and even priests, into believing there's nothing wrong with it. It is very well written, with a long very nice introduction. Already around the word pro LGBT priests and bishops are rejoicing and celebrating "blessings" that go against the general principles given in the document about it not being a liturgy, not using the trappings of a marriage, avoiding scandal, etc. A bishop said "this is only the beginning". Another said that priests cannot refuse to give these blessings. I thought this was under the priest's discretion? If these are "just like any other blessing" then why does a same sex couple holding hands need to ask for a priest's blessing? It's because they are not asking for an individual blessing, they are asking for a blessing of their relationship, therefore, of sin. They have not the minimal intention of repenting and abandoning their sin. Herein the problem. Soon we will see that the floodgates were opened and all kinds of abuses worse than those that happened because of the misinterpretation of Vatican II.
Father Mark, so if I am in an irregular relationship of any kind, under what circumstance would it be appropriate to present to you for a blessing (which through you is of God) with the one with which I am committing sin? Archbishop Vigano just posted his thoughts on the blessings-I think you should read that and pray on it.

Blessing the couple condones the act of them being together. It is heresy to believe that doing evil is okay if good comes from it.

Exactly
@@tessa7413The exception should not be the rule. That sounds like a very rare case.
@@SobreEstaRoca yeah but I wouldn’t know how rare. The same would also apply to heterosexual “couples.” I’m just imagining that the situation could be more complicated than just giving up sin and separating for people who’ve built lives together. They might want some additional help and need more grace.
Well said
@@tessa7413- most likely it would be one of the couple wanting to make a break - not the couple itself. I have to agree that's it's very unlikely a couple would come in and way "we want to repent"

But one must ASK with all their heart.
Exactly!!!!! Well said!
My dear fellow pilgrim, they can! The priest is not limited! These informal blessings are quite limited in that they cannot lead to same-sex pseudo-marriage! As Fr.

Spin, spin, spin, spin. Anyway, you look at it it is spinning confusion and it’s not just about the priest.😢
One cannot be so naive to think that the consequences we now see immediately after were unexpected.
Can we really believe they did not foresee this?
And closing it with “no further discussions”?
This Pope has been the master of confusion. Hopefully it is unintentional but it has been the result either way.
Thanks for saying this.
The German Synodal Way has been hijacking the German Catholic churches, and the pope is doing his best to stop it
The Declaration, Fiducia supplicans (FS), is a tool to STOP the liberals in their tracks!
Here it is:
"4. The Church’s doctrine on this point remains firm."
When FS is talking about being "pastoral", it says, it is being concerned with YOU, sir, with YOUR CONCERNS.

Poor st John the baptist, He could have use the same tactic and bless Herodia and Herod so could have save his head
Fr., It's not just the media saying this, there are priests now that believe this gives them the okay to bless same sex unions.
Right. How can you forgive, if, in their obstinacy, they refuse to acknowledge their error.
What about go and sin no more?
Repentance is essential. So is some degree of contrition. They're neither repentant nor contrite if they're holding hands while Father James Martin is "blessing" them in front of New York Times cameras, as famously happened in one case. That was outright defiance.
Yes, father, "todos", but you can not give a blessing, simultaneous or otherwise, to a couple involved in homosexuality. That would be confirming them in their sin. As another viewer has said, invite them to confession instead. That would be the real blessing that each one needs-- the Divine Blessing.

That’s exactly what is happening 😢😢😢😢
Let me ask two things:
- Is it realistic for an irregular couple to request a blessing while not (at least subconciously) claiming a legitimation of their own status?
GIVE AN INCH SATAN 😈 TAKES A MILE wake up 😮
Well said, my concerns exactly

It's funny Fr. Mark is making a second video on this. The problem people have with the document is clear. The document says "blessing for same sex couple"; that sentence is the problem father. This means in many people opinion, and mine, as well that we are recognizing them as couple. Giving them blessings individually is fine, but giving blessings to "same sex couple" is the problem. What's the bond by which they're being blessed together here? Their relationship.
Anyway, God's will be done. That doc change nothing to my Faith but it clearly create breach for people to exploit and for the Church's name to be stained. Nothing new.
He is choosing to be naive about the intent of the document. It is a gateway. The German bishops got what they wanted.
Priests need to be calling them to repentance and receive the blessing in the confessional.

I still believe that blessing couples in irregular situations is where the problem lies. It isn’t legitimizing a civil marriage or civil union, but the coupleship IS being blessed even though they should not be a couple. That’s close to where the US Episcopalians and Canadian Anglicans began to go off the rails.
In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
May our Lord Jesus Christ bless this wonderful Priest for speaking the truth!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Are you serious
Yes I've seen Father Alar's post and he does give the most understanding of the Pope's blessing to bad our Pope didn't word his blessing as not to stir so much confusion,
Yes! We need to pray for all priests and bishops; they have such a burden and need wisdom and fortitude from the Holy Spirit
But what happens when we don't correct the sinner??Who will be responsible, where is our shephard?
Thanks again Fr Mark. I’ve sent your videos on this to all my Catholic friends and family. When Jesus blessed (showed love) to the sinner, he didn’t bless ( show love) for the sin. In fact he said “ go and sin no more”
In 2021, the CDF stated clearly that the Church does not have the “power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex.”
Yes and the "go and sin no more" is missing lately
AMEN.
Exactly!!
Thank you for clarifying your perspective as a priest. You can bless the sinner but to be careful not to bless the sin.
u can bless the sinner ,but as a couple no!
Such blessings can/ should be done in a confessional box

Look at the Catholic media father. Fr Martin is saying priests can bless the same sex union, the couple
Also why people so adamant that this blessing need to be given as a couple and not separate. In that way it won’t be scandalous. 1 less sin.
It's not a loophole. JPII used the same distinction in Familiaris Consortio.

but eventually those priests will answer to God...meanwhile we pray for the deceived, the confused, and all who need to repent.to come to the saving knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
I, as a Christian, understand that blessing the union is Sinful.
Blessing any 'union' apart from marriage puts it on par with marriage.
Why doesn't Fr Mark see the seriousness of this!
@thomasmc7752 did you watch the video? He clearly does understand this.
@@jcers Oh...I didn't mention his understanding of anything.
As I understand from this, the union as such is not blessed, but the individuals who constitute the union.
@@juliank7408 But the blessing being issued is not for individuals. Its for them as a couple. That's the actual word used in the paragraph.
The moment the blessing is given to a same sex couple together and not separate, it’s over you can’t defend it anymore.
EXACTLY!!
I'm relieved that at least one commenter pointed this out! Thank you sooo much!
@@PrayNow4all Pointing what out? this is not a good argument. See my comment above. Not every blessing requested by people who might be gay is inadmissible.

@@MPFXT
No he made a massive mistake

The documents / magisterium was not touched. This is NOT A DOGMATIC document.

Fr. Mark is correct. ALL SINNERS who are struggling with any sin, must be loved and supported during the trials.
@@jdglock9114 its authoritative. It has the approval of the Pope. It's part of the ordinary magisterium.
@@katherinec.1497 I'm told it's not a magesterial document, that it's merely a Vatican document ordered by the pope. I'm not sure what the difference is? Many are looking the other way and saying there's no problem, because it doesn't bless same sex unions. Its still blesses the couple stepping forward in a sinful relationship. @@katherinec.1497 "its authoritative. It has the approval of the Pope. It's part of the ordinary magisterium."
It has no authority whatsoever. No one can give anyone else the power or the right or the duty to cause scandal. You are lying. Lying is a sin. You are also blaspheming by promoting sin and lies and scandal and telling people who do not support such that they are somehow guilty for the sins of others, so you are a hypocrite, a false teacher, a scandal monger, a false accuser, a heretic, etc. Were you these things a few days ago before the document came out? If not, then is this not proof that this diabolical instrument has caused you to fall from grace?
The ordinary magisterium is what the Church has always taught. The Church has NEVER taught this insanely evil garbage before. And the truth is, she does not now and will not in the future, so whoever you think the 'Church' is is obviously not the Church.
The gates of hell will not prevail against the church. Please have faith in the Holy Spirit, and in the Magesterium and in the Church.
Pax.
Neither does Fr James Martin.
They aren't misinterpreting. That's a red herring.
I agree with your take Father and that this is an entirely orthodox document.
But there are more progressive priests which are using this document to bless sin. I think that is the real source of scandal.
Even more important, when we expect the current leadership to allow progressive heresy and punish conservative orthodoxy.
@@KristynLorraine
Why can't Fr Mark hear you?
My first thought was confession. That’s where I get my blessing and at the end of Mass.
But you were blessed to move your heart toward God first - you were blessed to have some souls in your life, perhaps, praying for you, you were blessed to move forward and be true to grace given having been blessed by that grace.

Yes that’s it. Blessing these couples is only confirming their lifestyle. They can go to confession like everyone else.

Thank you, Fr Mark. You are a father to me. I understand those who disagree with Pope Francis putting out this document and maybe causing confusion. I might be one of them. But your perspective as a priest who cares for all sheds new light on this situation for me.
It's hard. Especially with our children and family. I try to remember that the first duty of charity is to speak the truth (kindly). Then I let things take their course and try to stay on amicable terms - what else can I do? I can't affirm sin or tell them bad is good and good is bad. Blessings to you!

The path to hell is paved with good intentions!!! : (Sirach 21:10: ''The way of sinners is smoothly paved with stones, but at the end thereof is the pit of hell'').
