I think he has previously mentioned that he is a professional photographer and worked for movies or something along those lines. He surely is qualified. Doesn't look like a newbie to me.
He used to live out of his Jeep, but I think he has a house now. Living out of a vehicle is not a hindrance to getting stunning nature photos and videos, it facilitates it. The best way to get those golden hour shots in amazing places is to camp nearby.
I go on multiple ~2 week trips a year living out of my 4x4 and taking nature photos. Nothing close to the quality that Drew produces, but I enjoy it.

I dont consider this as a video , an image nor a motion picture but an amazing work of art created by someone who has genuine passion for this genre of film making. Drew this is absolutely incredible. Having been to Iceland earlier this year - with my amateur gear including a DJI drone - I dreamed of photographs and footage like this. I'm sorry to say that my work could not come close. What I see in my own photographs and video is the experience and the nostalgia of a great trip. Dude, I feel like I say this on every video, but I’m absolutely blown away by the quality you produce every time, and I think this is easily the best shot composition and quality you’ve put out to date. I’m sure the landscape helps, but damn did you frame everything beautifully.

Around 1/4 of the way in, I'd decided to make a mental note of a few timestamps of my favorite shots to share with you. Shortly after, I realized that'd be like a hundred timestamps lol So I'll just say, I loved your wildlife footage!
