40 lb. Flouro makes a good weed guard , but like the way tie in while your tying the jig , I usually put on the jig first with super glue & dental floss (Richard Gene the fishing machine style). Think I”lol try it your way next time ,pretty awesome & looks a lot easier. Thanks for the lesson
I like to tie a double weedguard with 30lb mono- make it into a v, tie it in and glue it up. You can throw it in a hollow cypress stump and crawl it out. For very heavy cover and 1/8 oz jigs I’ll go with a double 50 lb mono- but I’m really only fishing for bass and goggle eye (warmouth) at that point. The 50 lb will knock light biting crappie off sometimes
