  • Hi everyone!
    Today we're trying out a new tent! I'm hoping that this tent is the answer to my stealth camping prayers!
    I also make some borderline acceptable toasties and some awful coffee!
    thanks for watching and all the support!

    as a 6'2" camper, i have often found the same problem with one man tents, never knew you could get an XL tent. i will be adding that to mu xmass wish list. thanks

      It’s very annoying, I would understand more if we were like 8ft but it is what it is! But yeah this tent is great, it’s still snug but in a comfortable way!

      Is the xl worth the extra tenner then?

    • @CampingwithCraig
      @CampingwithCraig  7 месяцев назад +1

      It is for me for sure... It's the difference between being able to lay down flat or having to lay with my knees bent all night! If you're over 6ft, get this one!

    I am glad you have such mild conditions year around. Our Winter is really bad with -29C recently and LOTS of snow. Camping in such conditions is not nice. I have made some Winter camping in milder conditions and that is fun. Thanks for sharing, Craig.

      I enjoy the snow when we get it, but we had some last week and the whole country nearly shuts down haha.

    Hi Craig, I like your vids cause you are so natural and funny. You got me laughing with your crap coffee. I actually found some squashies in a shop the other day & bought them as you normally bring some on your camps.You are starting a trend with buying crap sweets & choc to try out. That bug was a shield bug. I may have said b4 but I love your accent. Keep safe.

    • @CampingwithCraig
      @CampingwithCraig  10 месяцев назад

      Well thank you very much, that’s nice to hear! I hope the squashies lived up to my hype haha. I forgot to buy sweets this time, that’s something I need to correct in the next video… may start getting withdrawal symptoms! The accent thing I do not understand but I’l take it haha. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

    Another fun video Craig!
    Glad you found a tent you are happy with and you fit inside !
    That grilled cheese looked yummy, I like to add butter to a heated pan first to grill them.
    Nice to see you back again and hopefully if time permits you can put out videos more frequently….Time lapse was beautifully done also!
    See you on the next one.

      Thanks!
      The grill cheese wasn’t my best work, I did have some oil with me but I didn’t have enough so it was largely a waste of time 😬. I’ll be out again next week barring any problems, so hopefully I can get back to uploads more regularly! And thanks again, it wouldn’t be one of my videos without a night sky Timelapse I think haha

    Have one of these as well, bought an original Blackthorn 1 but it was way too small, the XL is way better, and for the price it's hard to find anything better I'd say. Good quality overall. I've had mine out in both heavy rain and even winter conditions and never had a problem with mine. a tip is to replace the quite heavy steel pegs it comes with and replace with aluminium ones, the total pack weight comes down drastically.

    • @CampingwithCraig
      @CampingwithCraig  7 месяцев назад +1

      Someone else that gets it hooray! Good to hear it’s done a job in heavy rain, I haven’t got it soaked yet really! Need to get myself some decent pegs I have 100s of cheap ones!

    Great video Craig! Those one man tents are short on space if you're 6 ft or more plus I use a 4 inch thick air mattress that boosts you up into slightly less space,but that looks like a great tent you got and at a good price

    Hi :) Have you had any condensation issues with this XL version? Or the smaller version for that matter? I was thinking to use a tarp with my one because of possible condensation if I zip the whole thing up. I’m assuming you’ve tried both versions with no tarp and fully zipped up? Thanks in advance. Nice friendly vid 👍🏼 EDIT: I should wait to comment once I’ve watched the whole video as you mentioned it not being too bad for condensation at the end 👍🏼 ps I heard if birds poop on you it’s a lucky thing… Hope pooping on your tent brings the same 😊

    • @CampingwithCraig
      @CampingwithCraig  5 месяцев назад

      Hello. Both tents didn’t have a condensation issue and I’ve used both without the tarp too. The inner is well spaced from the outer so even if you push against it you won’t be hitting the outer!. Thanks for taking the time to comment and edit said comment haha.

      @MrLamphy 5 месяцев назад

      I like my tent, I do think they struggle in the weather, its not a cheap tent,it's a lot of money for people to buy this tent. I think it's because we all know they are better than the top 3 brand names of tents, with the more expensive ones you get palaces, them tents bags really are the size of mansions. Compared with a hilleberg, it's living out of a backpack or a Palace, I'm not wasting money on chinese crap. I don't think youve had one? I don't think there's a possibility I'll meet a people who has had one and is unhappy with it.

    • @MrLamphy

      @CampingwithCraig yeh I bought the muticam one and I was in my brain thinking cheap but to a lot of/all?!? people that is a lot of money. I don't think myself i will spend a bigger amount than that in my life, so lucky to have big money like that and people are lucky to have things. That to say an old man would be enough money to feed himself properly for almost over 50 years.
