Though I knew Loki had a rough start I literally have tears in my eyes hearing Eliot tell the whole story. His history makes Loki even more remarkable. All hail the glossy king of the skies, GWAH.
Loki, you are not only very glossy, but also very lucky to have a friend like Elliott! It's great to see what a happy bird you have become after such a bad start to life, thanks to the love and patience of your personal staff 😉 Have a great weekend!
Loki always makes me smile, even in bad days. He is a bird, but to me he is a reminder that, when in a caring and safe environment, everyone can heal, overcome, and become themselves again to live freely. Thank you for your work at the sanctuary! :) Give many cuddles and snacks to the glossy boi.
We all love and marvel at Loki the raven (and Elliott, too). There were many important points made in this video including 2:21 "Birds in captivity should be given the same--if not better--life than they would have in the wild."
Thank you for telling Loki's story. I am so happy for him and I can see a bit of myself in him. I have been dealing with traumatic experiences and mental health issues, and Loki is such a beacon of hope for me, that I can one day regain my happiness and confidence like him.
You have done an amazing job at giving this beautiful spirit a loving environment where he feels loved. I would love the be a part of a Ravens life but I know how much work & space needed, so I make do with feeding my family of Crows everyday. Keep up the amazing work & thank you 😀
Lokster is just a rockstar, period! I'm such a huge fan of corvids, and he's one of my favourite birds on the planet! Love him to the ends of the earth, and back! 😁🖤🖤🖤
A great credit to you!!! And look at the reward your patience has given not just you, but us also!!!! An absolute privilege to see! Thankyou!!!!! 😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌😌
Thank you for this background story on Loki. Thank you for loving and caring about birds. Thank you for your love and care for Loki. I’ve always wondered about Loki and his story. I just love Loki. So awesome! ❤🥰
J ' adore 💖 les corbeaux ! Étranges ou porte malheur pour certains , chacun pense ce qui veut. J ' aime le mystère qui plane autour de lui...et bravo à son coach !🙃🐦🦢🕊️💖
🥺 brought tears to my eyes hearing Loki's story. I have been following him for a while now but haven't heard his story. So glad he has you and your colleagues that take great care of beautiful glossy Boi! Gwah!
I have adored ravens since I was a young child. I would never dare to own one as I know how much care and attention they require to have a good life. Thank you for helping Loki live his best life and for providing these amazing videos of the glossy boy himself. Gwah!
Elliot you are Loki's saviour, he adores you and likewise, the love and trust is beautiful, very humourous and very emotionally touching. Amazing to witness such loyalty between Elliot and Loki, so heartwarming. Thank you so much for sharing these videos, puts faith back into human kindness again ❤❤❤ Love you Lord Loki❤❤ gwah
This is such a great story. Every living thing deserves love and a safe environment. So happy for Loki, he is such a beautiful, smart bird. I wish there were more laws to protect such creatures, but I'm glad he is doing ao well now. It must be amazing to have such a relationship with him, LUCKY YOU!!!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR HIM
Been loving the Shorts! I feed crows every day in the park and they come when they see me or I call to them. Loki is phenomenal. I had a close relationship with a wild blue(scrub) jay who would land on my head and jump on my shoulder. It's incredible to have that level of communication.
Very good video. Can't believe the governemnt lets this go on. It's the same here in Norway. I think that pet shops should be banned. Only educated individuals with registered companies should be allowed to breed and if not harmful to the birds, import birds and keep them in proper aviaries, with large outdoor spaces, trees, bushes and all that, which should be located in places where it is natural to have them. I.e. the countryside. These places should people only be allowed to buy and sell birds from. Then they would have an as close as possible to their natural habitat to live in, before, during and after a sales process. Of course there should also be a legally enforced course that everyone had to take before owning a bird of any kind. I mean there is a lot to know. I personally have refrained from taking ownership because i know i live in a place where it is not relevant to keep them. One should at least live in a place where one can have an open outside aviary space connected with an inside space, so they can go outside if they want to. There is a looot of work to keep them. And they can get illnesses easily too. Does one have the money to pay for veterinary bills or insurance? It's just absurd that there is no more system around the buying and selling of pets in general. It's quite sad. We could learn about it in school as well. If one does not have the time, the means or the opportunity to own and properly care for a pet, it is unethical and very egoistical to buy one.
The US is weird about this. Laws change by city and state. I do like the idea of having a course to own any animal, really. I worked for a shelter for a while. We got in everything, dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, ferrets, snakes. Even had to sedate a tiger at one point. Heard about that one second-hand. Almost always badly cared for and often requiring rehabilitation. That was my job, actually, working with them to find their quirks and getting them homes. Sometimes, that home was mine. :) Thank you guys for rescuing birds. They're a unique creature to care for and you guys do so much for them. Is there any way we can support you?
Sweet story, Loki you're a very fortunate boy that you and Elliott came into each others lives. We the bird loving internet you tube watchers are lucky you are together💚💚💚
Only just caught up with this, but what a great video. Sad to hear the full story but wow, what wonders you've done for him. Can't wait to meet him and his keepers in person one day.
Thank you for giving this beautiful boy the safe, loving environment he needed. You're all tremendous! I'd love to visit Loki one day. Do you have visitors at the centre?
Quite possibly, it is an old video that existed on Vimeo. We are updating the website and moving content about. We've had a lot of new followers recently who are also asking about his back story so it's a nice little refresher :D
Omg!! Im so glad i subscribed to your channel! Im an complete and utter animal lover and hearing you speak about loki melted my heart ❤️ thankyou you are a true angel of god 🤗🙏🥰
Loki. He's adorable. Kinda wish he would find a mate and become Daddy Loki. Although I don't know how involved male ravens are into raising their young...
Ok. A quick Google search claims that common ravens USUALLY mate for life, and both mom and dad raven raise the young together. Cool stuff. And females usually lay 3 to 7 eggs at a time, and she will incubate them for about a month. Doesn't mean all of them will hatch, but still. Could you imagine Loki with a lil raven family?
Here in Canada if you so much as have a raven, or eagle feather in your possession you can be charged federally and imprisoned for up to 12 years. They take it EXTREMELY seriously
@@lokitheraven8703 be glad in a way because if they had the regulations you may never have been able to keep Loki. The rules are strict to a fault. If he came to you in a bad state they would have expected you to let him die
Unregulated pet industries do a lot of damage. Too often it's cruel to the " pets " and it can be damaging to local ecological systems as it brings in invasive species which can totally disrupt them, even having an impact on local agricultural production. The answer is to stop bringing wild animals into our homes and try best we can not to disturb their natural environments. BTW.....Loki is a handsome fellow and I'm glad you gave him a chance to flourish. Greetings from Kansas.
I love Loki, but I don't believe in first-class and second-class birds. It seems nonsense to me to complain that people have birds as pets that they care for and love, blaming them for what other people do wrong. The worst thing that can happen to you as a bird is not that a family adopts you, it is to end up being a Mcnugget, which is what happens to millions of birds every day. Let's educate people who love birds as pets to have them well, but let's not criminalize having pets, especially if while we're eating a QFC hamburger...
It just goes to show how resilience triumphs -- there is always hope, and there are good people who do THE RIGHT THING. Thank you, Elliot, for bringing Lokes to us. You brighten our days, and give us hope that there is good in the world yet.
