Man I just bought an LJ that could use a little TLC in the rust department. It’s in the shop getting a new driveshaft and steering stabilizer. I plan on doing a thorough inspection of the rust when I get it back and see what needs to be done . Great video .
Great to see you are fixing big bird she been alot fun for you it would be a sad day if you junk it are you planning on a snorkel for it looking forward to more off road videos
Love watching this content and you removing that cancer from Big Bird! She'll be in the recovery room for awhile but back out on the trail in no time. Can't wait.
@@SmokinMonkeyOG Oh noooo!! I'm so disappointed. Of course, I do understand all the heartache and pain and territory that comes along with constantly replacing parts and making repairs on that endless money pit--LOL!! Just remember though--you're going to lose a TON of great content by getting rid of big bird!! Regardless of my disappointment, your decision though and I'll continue to watch ole Blue but probably won't binge watch your channel like I have done in the past with big bird. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
Every single nut and bolt was rusted they didn’t wanna come out so it would take us hours to cut out every single nut and bolt and then we would have to go welding new nuts underneath so fuck that. I already sold this thing and I’m happier than ever
15.14 Solid metal..... even better than that premium brand Tin Foil you can only buy at the Gourmet grocery stores;) Good for another 20000 miles ! You're getting there
They’re discontinued if I’m not mistaken but you can still find stock online if you look around. I had to use 3 different companies to get all my pieces that I need
Hey love your channel but you need to do one more thing to big Bird she needs 35s it will help you so much and you need to learn what a full send is i know that the gladiator and the tj is so so so much more capable every thing that i have said is with love i am a avid 4 wheeling nut thank you and i hope that the new repairs go great for you remember get your rocks off the road
lol thanks. Stock TJ axles won’t handle the 35s but I wish they did. I break too much with 33s already. If you think I don’t know what a full send is you have to watch more of my videos lol ride safe!
That jack is a bumper jack, most cars had them when they actually had bumpers. I think your battery is dying on your cutoff tool. I thought you would remove your body completely to repair it. I wish I was as poor as you so I could afford all those body parts for my TJ, well actually I've been spending my money on other projects, the TJ is on the list I just haven't gotten there yet. Still cheaper to fix big bird then to bash big blue. Keep on jeeping.
Yea, my first car was a 41 Pontiac I bought when I was eleven years old, and I ran it in the back fields for two weeks until I blew the engine, that old straight eight just didn't like being wound tight all the time. It was made of heavy sheet metal although the bumpers weren't that sturdy, but I did use the bumper jack to change tires as it was all I had. That was at least a couple weeks ago, LOL.@@Toddscustomfabrications
So glad you didn’t just junk that jeep. I honestly can’t wait to see the end result
I can’t wait to finish this project either. Should be a lot stronger and more reliable
Awesome! I knew you would do the right thing and fix her!
Gotta take the opportunity when it comes. I was close to giving up
Way to go Todd. Great job guys. Love the video.

Thanks! And no not for now a snorkel for this thing costs more than an engine so I’ll take my chances
Looking forward to more TJ videos.

Gotta rep the Costco brand haha 😂
Wow, that was way worse than I thought it would be. Cannot wait to see the end result!
lol you and me both
nice to get rid of that rust I need to go through my TJ and do some prevention
Ya the one thing that kills jeeps lol so happy to get it done
Doin the same job on my kids right now, just odd that you didnt take the seat out for the sake of 4 bolts to make life easier.

@@SmokinMonkeyOG I feel your pain, while my seats came out amazingly, the roll cage had to be cut out for that exact reason. ;)

Have the same problem with mine. I didn’t know those rear pieces were available. Will have to do some looking.

@@SmokinMonkeyOG I think my guy will be fabricating for mine. When I looked it was a 12 week delay.
@LoweKey4Wheelin-kz1be ya these jeeps are getting old and the aftermarket is good but a lot of stuff is getting discontinued
after its all said and done you should bedline the floors
That’s the plan if I can get the rust gone
The Flintstones would be proud lol
I was thinking the same thing myself lol 😂 I’ll miss the warm summer air though
Where do you guys find these the trails just picked up an 06 sport 4.0 6 speed I kinda want to test it out I’m just north of t.o
If you join the OF4WD website you’ll get access to the entire trail index with maps
Thank you 😊

Definitely cheaper lol
You're right, back when cars were made of steel lol

Seems like it would have been easier to get a new body
Would’ve cost a lot more
I tried to find one in Ontario... ya not any that were worth what peeps wanted to be honest.
