This was fantastic. I really like tactical discussions and analyses, but too often they're painfully banal and simplistic. This, on the other hand, offered a very interesting and in-depth perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and please do more such interviews! :)
I’m glad you enjoyed it George! We are be certainly planning on doing more videos like this in the future, as and when we can get experts in to talk to us! - TTG Ben
Unfortunately not as Iron Hills and Erebor Reclaimed are yellow allies. If you take Fili and/or Kili though, they get it from Thorin as theirs is a special rule instead of army bonus
@@kalmansw But what if you play the Erebor Reclaimed army? There you can pick Dain as well but not as a legendary hero but as a hero of valour or something. Does the Army bonus then counts for Thorin himself like a banner? Or do you prefer Dain as your army leader instead of picking Thorins army bonus? :) Thanks for your answer man!
@@kalmansw Another question: At monday I have a match against my friend. We play 600 points and he will play probably Mordor. Any tips which army/unit combination? I have everything from Thranduils Halls and Iron Hills/Erebor reclaimed
@@grimaldushelbrecht8811 In a pure Erebor Reclaimed list, I believe Thorin gets the reroll as he has the Erebor key word and is within 6" of himself. Dain won't as he doesn't have the Erebor key word. Regarding your game. Take what you enjoy! That's the first rule. At 600 points I don't think you can afford to have 2 big heroes and a ballista so one has to go. (Your choice) I don't have Thranduils halls so couldn't say from experience but if taking them with Iron Hills, I'd take a few, not a lot. For every 3 elves I'd take 2 glaives and 1 bow. Heroes wise. Thranduil or Legolas depending on points. At 600 points, I think I'd take Dain leading spears and shields with a banner included. Then ally in Legolas leading glaives and archers. Hope that helps
@@kalmansw Bro I need your help, hope you still read this. How to deal with a Moria army including the Balrog and the Drake? I feel like the Balrog is way too overpowered - even for his 350 points cost. The Heroic Combat + whip, you cant even flee from him.
@@TopTableGamingthanks for replying. Quick question, I understand it against evil as it seems great, but what about good. How does this dynamic hold up. Why not Thranduil? Keep the army bonus and similarish with points. 🤔
Thorin is stupidly cheap for what he does and most of the time, will gain you more than the army bonus. That being said, I'm a big fan of the Iron Hills bonus and at lower points, can be really useful as you can't afford two big heroes. Thranduil is really good and Iron Hills and Thranduils halls are good allies as they are Green but Thorin (fully kitted) is 45points cheaper than Thranduil (fully kitted) and can lead Iron Hills warriors
@@kalmansw You have any recommendations for allies with dain at 1000 points? Was really trying to do Dain + thandy at 1000 with maybe a laketown contingent. Mind giving me your thoughts on the allies choices for the big dwarf bois at higher point games? Thanks man great video!
Most of the hero’s from the hobbit armies are too cheap and therefore over powered. Compare dwalin who is 115 points to boromir who is 160 points, dwalin is pretty much just as good. 4 attacks and strength 5 with defence 8 is insane.
Great video, really enjoyed the listen and great to see Kal on the channel - great work chaps! - Damian
If you like seeing Kal on the channel go and check out today’s Isengard video. Even more sexy Kal action 😍 - TTG Ben
Oh look Stirling isn't on fireworks night this year! 😍
See you all there! 😁

Does the army bonus of Erebor Reclaimed - Du Bekar - counts for Thorin himself as well? Can he re roll one dice?

Is there anywhere to see this dudes conversions of the dwarf hero’s on to goats? Always wanted to play them but not sure where to start
Battle report coming soon! Plenty of close ups 😊 - TTG Ben
Top Table Gaming cheers Ben 👍
Nvm found it 😁
Goat-Too! 😂
So you don't really care about Iron Hills buff? Is Thorin on goat just that good?
Omniscient yes...
That would indeed be what Kal hinted at! When Thorin is only slightly more expensive than a captain he’s that much value for what he does - TTG Ben
