    I wonder how many people in this crowd realize how lucky they are to have seen Itzhak play in person. World class violinist and musician right there. I recommend checking out his performance of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto in D, my personal favorite classical piece and the best (imo) performance of it to have been recorded. Really displays his talent.

The Grand Re-Opening Hatch Show Print from Perlman's stirring & legendary 2011 performance with the Grammy Award winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra, around six months after the devastating flood, remains proudly displayed upon the wall above my desk.

    I absolutely love Perlman, his playing and his personality are equally wonderful. But, even as an intermediate violinist I can easily tell the playing is a little off. I have nothing against Perlman, with age and in front of a loud crowd instead of a silent audience performing isn't the same. However, it is undeniably a little depressing and sadening hearing Perlman's violin no longer sing like it used to.

    • @ikenakakensuke475
      @ikenakakensuke475 4 года назад +4

      Chris Hayes Hi, I really feel sad too. But I think it is because not only by aging but also of nervousness... I couldn’t imagine how people got stressed to play anthem in such huge number of people.... his left hand was absolutely tremored....
      anyway, he is still a legend for me.

    • @TedCase
      @TedCase 2 года назад +1

      It was probably really cold, thus the lack of control, and as far as the sound - remember you’re used to hearing him in beautiful halls. Here he is close mic’d outdoors with zero reverb. A virtuoso with a Stradivarius only goes so far, for that beautiful tail to the sound you’ve gotta be in the right space

I'm saying that Heifetz's recording of the Star-Spangled Banner is better. It's much better actually, and Heifetz was the one who made this arrangement. Look up the recording on RUclips -- I already said the recording's on RUclips, so I don't know why you're asking me if I've heard Heifetz play this lol. And don't be ridiculous. Tsampika Biniari is it and do much for him he didn't like it that much, and he didn't think it was very good. And that he needs to play better than Itzhak Perlman to be allowed to think that it's not good?

      Sounded terribly cheap. I"m unable to be more precise as violin isn't my instrument.

      Yes, Itzhak Perlman is (was) one of the best violinists in the world, but he played really badly here.

      He added a classical music touch to it (for example, the double stops) I’m pretty sure you don’t like classical music. Do you?

    U.S. should changed its anthem. Star-Spangled Banner has no musical value... it does not even have a nice melody and is very boring.
