More Phoebe! I love coming across people's first reactions to her music. Everything she's got is gold. You could start at the beginning with "Stranger in the Alps", her debut album, or go straight to "Punisher" from 2020. She also has an album with Conor Oberst from Bright Eyes called "Better Oblivion Community Center" and an EP as an all-female supergroup called boygenius with two of her best friends and several appearances on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series. @@LexListens Phoebe is one of those artists, where all kinds of people tend to love all kinds of her songs. The majority are much moodier and slower, more akin to I Know The End. Motion Sickness is definitely an outlier. But what they all have in common are amazingly detailed and meticulous lyrics about very specific moments from her own life, that still somehow manage to be relatable and always hit close to home, incredible harmonies and very interesting production choices. Plus her voice is just soooo pretty. I'd recommend you check out: Funeral, Smoke Signals, Scott Street, ICU, Moon Song, Chinese Satellite, Savior Complex ... and Kyoto, if you want something similarly 'vibe-y' as Motion Sickness. But again, these are just my picks, different people would rec others. And definitely stick to videos with lyrics. Phoebes music loses a lot, when you don't catch the words and the story that is being told.
@@LexListens and the comparison to Billie Eilish is pretty apt, imo, especially a few songs on Happier Than Ever seem strongly influenced by Phoebe or artists like her (namely Your Power and Male Fantasy)
I am glad somebody is reacting to a great music. These two songs has a some connection between according to my understanding. The first one is about when you met darknes in yourself cause by some significant other. The second one when you meet your future self.
