Steele Road to Whitrope by Bike , then onto Saughtree Station.

** I seem to have added the clips of Whitrope in twice so apologies **
A return trip to Riccarton but this time on my mountain bike , I attempt to cycle along the old Waverley route from Steele Rd to Whitrope sidings . Then from Riccarton to Saughtree station via the old Border Counties Route, this would prove difficult due to how overgrown in parts in this section.
A very Misty murky day but I can’t choose my days when I’m off work .

Footbridge at Whitrope came from the original Eskbank Station (near Edinburgh). Station name board currently on the platform at the one time Riccarton Junction station was put there by a group called "The Friends of Riccarton Junction " about 15-20 years ago. Sadly the group was disbanded several years ago.

Thanks for the bridge info , yes I heard about the group pity that it disbanded and now with all the stuff around Whitrope slowly rotting away . Thanks for watching atb Dave .

Looks pretty boggy through Palmers Hill Cutting nowadays, you did well getting through that! Good bit of filming 👍
