Any victory against Novak must be considered as a massive achievement. Congrats Alex!

@user-px9dr3ni6y was it de minaur that slagged djokovic off and then get demolished at the Australian open 2023?
Player's in Alex pool talent always play much better against the best since they are playing like it's everything, against those two getting practices in during small tournament's match play. Still exciting for him since we rarely see Novak loose. Until he does it in a meaningful tournament, it doesn't really seem like progression as much as it would be when playing them in a match you know they have no intention on loosing.

Brilliant delivery by De Minaur. Keep the great play style and mix it up game plan. Get stronger and sharper - surely it will take you distance. Utmost best wishes to you Alex in this team event, the AO 2024 and the rest of the season. You can ! Cheers

if this was something that made even 1% sense as an actual strategy then it would be done all the time in every tournament by many players or every tournament by Djokovic even. Last year the head of the AO tournament Craig Tiley himself confirmed that he saw the hospital scan for the hamstring injury but the butt-hurt over all the losses that Djokovic inflicted is such that some still look to create their own "alternate reality".... "he had a three-centimeter tear in his hammy. Absolutely (I saw the scans)"
Great performance from De Minaur!!

I remember Deminaur got criticised as 'disrespectful' when he voiced his opinion about Nole not playing AO21 due to the COVID controversy. And after that, Nole demolished him on the court and he said after the match 'because I wanted to demolish him'. I hate sarcasm and arrogance as much as I love to see the ppl using them get some payback. Nole's lemon expression during the handshake is quite telling of his feeling about this match. And STUNG is the right title for this video.
What about Norrie who hadn't won a single match against anyone in the Top 40 since March 2023 but beat De Minaur the other day? Does put some perspective on things. Djokovic never said "because I wanted to demolish him'". Courier asked him how did you play like that and Djokovic answered "because I wanted to". De Minaur broke into laughter when the news came through about Djokovic being deported in 2022 so hardly surprising that Djokovic didn't care for that. If you hate arrogance what about laughing at the misfortune of someone told to come over to Australia and then flip-flopped by Politicians for votes? Impressive. Very impressive indeed.
I've felt that De Minaur needed some more pop on his shots. Maybe a tweak in racket or string tension would help. Last year he seem more aggressive than the past. Now he has more pop, maybe from being stronger. Great grit and tennis IQ. A real pro year in and year out.
He might have lowered his tension last year, in one tournament it was reported as only 20 kg.
Seriously how long does he need Novak Nadal Federer Serena Williams Venus Victoria Azarenka steffi graf where all younger than him and they won multiple grandslams atp titles masters Serena was only 17 winning hee first grandslam is open 1999
It's not really the pop as he is only rated 40th in the top 50 for power. It's the greater variation in his game. He probably won't ever win a major but we Aussies love him for his efforts.
I can't go by some abstruse power rating. I know when I see a ball hit that gets the opponent on his heals and scrambling. De Minaur has been that dogged retriever for some years, but to push the tempo and dictate comes from hitting a more decisive ball.@@temp850

Djoko has lots of these convenient injuries for a guy that treats his body "like a temple=
No vaccine didn’t prevent him from getting injured (again) 😂😂😂😂

@@imalwaysrighty los que se vacunaron no dejan de tener covid🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
well it's not like he can never be injured

Classic loss of Nole before a grand Slam
Definitely he is gonna win the AO
Novak will always be my favourite!
