    That assist was a super smart play. The way he engaged the opposing D-man after passing the puck back to the point opened up the ice for his teammate to make a play. His hockey sense is insane, he's gonna tear it up in Montreal!

    That pass on the board at 2:11 was so sweet also thank god that he didn't get seriously injured on that dirty play at 7:40 and got back on his feet and made a defensive play. He didn't get the breaks today but he looks like the best player on the ice against a bunch of former NHLers.

    He is not afraid to show off his skill in his first game. That's a big positive. Overall he was expected to be good, so no surprises there.
    Putting it into perspective that one game was perfect for comparison.
    Demidov - a talented young palyer in his first game in the big league. Obviously gifted, but he needs to learn a lot and that was expected too.
    Gritsyuk - enetering his prime young talent with some serious exerience. A dominat player on the ice. The maturity and experince gave him a visible edge over Demidov.
    Kuznetsov - a seasoned vet who has seen it all. Still the best hands on the ice(the goal he'd score in game no.2 is just amazing, ripped it home from a zero angle).

    Good that he plays with Kuz tho, its gonna help him focus on positionning and being an option for his puck carrying teammate.

    • @harryhood1919

      He was only at RW, I know he has said he wants to be at center but for now until he matures more physically, I would assume he stays on the wing while in the KHL but then next year when he's with the Habs they can have a plan for him to play center.

    Not the prettiest assist of his career but he bumped into the opponent to give his teammate all that space. That’s probably interference according to the rulebook but NHLers get away with it all the time.

    he has really above average skating and puck skill, but he needs to improve his playmaking, from the couple of shift by shift matches i have seen from him. But maybe his coach told him to focus on 1vs1...its a possibility.

    • @harryhood1919
      @harryhood1919  Месяц назад

      His playmaking is one of his best assets, he can dish the puck well and his vision/IQ are high end for sure. The skating, he has the edges but looks like he lacks strength so once he matures more physically and adds more mass/strength over time that hopefully will help improve the skating.

    • @pierre-yvesdubreuil9315
      @pierre-yvesdubreuil9315 Месяц назад

      @@harryhood1919 i may need galsses, so take that with a pinch of salt:
      i think he compensate his lack of playmaking ability, with his other abilities. That does not mean he is not a good player right now, but to be dominant in the NHL, he will have to develop his puck control time in O zone and middle zone more.
      Just my opinion!
