There've been memes about the different mirrors like that for a while lol. TVT: chess match, PVP: rock paper scissors, ZVZ: two crackheads in a knife fight lol

These 2 games are the perfect example of why these tournaments are so great - as you say, at the top top level the games are almost so clean it can be boring (of course I still love ANY starcraft gameplay), but I was at the edge of my seat both matches this time. Did not at ALL expect that ending! BIGGGGGGG

soso's build made my childhood dreams come true. Was unsurprisingly terrible at SC as a kid because I refused to build anything but mech... feels vindicating to see a 1-base mech win so easily at this level of play. Mirror match made me chuckle though, just barely edged out that win. Good stuff, keep it up!
That soso build was awesome. I haven't seen a Zerg die to Terran that quick in awhile. Great casting as always Arty.

Love the stream Arty but question, do you rarely stream zvz because it’s generally uninteresting or is there just a lack of good games you can find? Zvz is my favorite match when it’s good but they’re so hard to find. Like gems. Thanks, blind guy here so I appreciate the commentary as always

He is the only reason Oz got 2nd place in proleague. Literally he was taking on the entire SKT empire which had aces of all three races by himself.

for how great of a game starcraft is, mirror matches are definitely the low point for me.
Zerg starts every TvZ as the underdog, which is why Zerg beats Protoss beats Terran beats Zerg.
Yes as a z player I can confirm zvp is kinda boring for z (even against better players) and zvt is very exciting because it's super hard
Interesting games.
1. Goliaths is interesting unit. It's nowhere strong in dps as bunch marines and it's not tanky. But damn, it has those very narrow spots in game where they can pull strange sh1t that marines might not have able to pull off otherwise.
2. Well, damn, that zerg match was amazing! I don't understand people who don't like watching zerg mirror, RTS rush and micro at it's finest.

I made 2 factory before CC and a wave of speedlings buried my ass. Hmm
ZVZ is usually just "tolerable" for me like I don't mind it, but a few in a row and I fall asleep but WOW what a ZVZ. I don't think we've ever seen a high-profile game where a Z loses their spawning pool without doing ANY eco damage to the opponent and still wins.
zerg is the most difficult race in the game. The fact that it's the only one to lose workers in order to build structures makes it really weak in the early game.
Yes and no. They can also build multiple drones at the same time. And their buildings are cheaper, to "discount" the drone investment.

As fun as that build from the first game was, I feel like it's more of a blunder from the Zerg than a good build from the Terran. You scout no nat and mass Goliath, and still massing drones and no sunkens? If he had just defended that push with a few sunkens the game is over and he would have won

i have a feeling , after the drop of this video on youtube ... terran 1 base 2 facts vultures into goliaths will be common for a while in the mid ranks
Isn't it pretty easily stopped by having like... just one more sunken so that the vultures can't get in?
@@quaco24 if you watch the first game , you can see that one sunken , well placed drones and a decent number of lings along with a hive walloff... all combined ... was not enough
@@coolblade23 That's why I said one more sunken. I.e. two sunkens in total.
@@quaco24 yeah gotta have more than 1 sunken or get fast hydras out when you see vulture spam like that. But he didn't see it coming..
@@quaco24 The problem is that you spend too many resources on a one trick pony defense like that and then you just get blown out by like tanks sieging. Hindsight is 20/20, you can't defend a build you have no clue what it is doing because you don't know where they are going with it.
