- Hello everyone, Forsaken221 here with another AMV. Really enjoyed this anime and if you haven't seen it yet I strongly suggest you give it a chance. Anyway thanks again for checking in and I hope you enjoy the video!

Even after those years, Gate still for me one of the best Isekai I've seen.
And this edit is good as the anime, god job!
Could've been awesome if anime didn't mess up the lore that was in the manga.

I Wish This Had A Season 3
S3 woulda been an absolute cluster in terms of licensing and rights. The manga/light novel had a bunch of stuff from other copyrighted universes. Case in point, the eggs and face huggers from the Alien franchise.

What's with people aaying that the writer is dead. He has already finished the story of the light novel and is now working on a season 2 that focuses on a new set of main characters including the JSDF navy. Dont worry guys. We'll have our season 3 and more.

The manga of this anime is drastically different when it was release to be animated.

Gate is just my personal guilty pleasure anime. I dont know, parts of it I hate, parts of are just dumb, but there is just something about this. Kinda like a Michael Bay movie.
So when will we get a season 3.?
I want to see more and the next season will most likely be focusing on the navy of the JSDF.
JSDF has pretty much complete air superiority and no big bodies of water near gate inside 500klicks far as i'm aware, but if they were to expand to coast another military base should be possible, but rather hard to resupply to operate proper fleet. Few destroyer or maybe one or two cruisers would be possible, but thats pretty much upper limit for logistics. Enemy cuts logistical routes and base is in really bad spot. Air transporting some supplies would be possible to maintain troops in base, but moving for instance large ship components would be extremely hard project taking long time, when just bringing refueling planes and extending their operation area would be much easier and cheaper. Remember that ships would need to be produced, kept in small truck size chunks, moved trough gate and to naval base, dock yard would need to be built and ships assembled taking least couple of years to have fleet operational. Top of that resupply and tanker ships would be needed to increase operation range from 8300km and maybe fleet could at best utilize Izumo-class multi-purpose destroyer/aircraft carrier, but i think it beyond what could be transported, again ground base for aircraft with tanker planes is cheaper and more practical solution to increase operation area.
Still i like idea of seeing JSDF on new world if they can and want secure large enough area for naval bases and logistical routes to be secured. Its all depending on how much area they want and for how long.
@@Hellsong89Actually there's a sequel novel called GATE:Weigh Anchor. It is set four years after the first gate showed up it focuses entirely on naval warfare as the new gate is based at sea.

That whole fight was basically apocalypse now but the Vietcong replaced as bandits from a medieval era.
