Love that you don't talk to much , half the time i turn off the video before finishing because the person takes 30minutes to say exactly what you did in 2. awesome
yes...very to the point...not too loud either...I don't need to feel like I'm at a concert when learning to cut hair lol. thank you guys for keeping it "short" and sweet lol
Lol same, but I'd rather cut my hair by myself, because my hair grows really really fast and I see no point in spending money on a hairdresser and just get it cut again after a month.
just do it, if you don't satisfy with the result you can go to hair salon :) I've been doing this for myself for almost three years, sometimes the result it's not exactly what I wanted but you know it's hair and it grow so don't worry about it too much ☺️🍀
I’m still processing the fact that I actually cut my hair.. so I was having a mental breakdown and did this on a whim...I’ve never had a good relationship with my hair so I thought screw it. I followed this tutorial and omg my hair actually turned out so much better than I expected! Sure it’s not perfect but you can’t really tell. I feel so much better and don’t regret this at all. Thank you so much for the video! ~
Same man, I just cried straight for 2 hrs ( doing this daily for almost past a year) and now I want to cut my hairs and here I am. Hope I feel better and more confident after doing this. People often compliment my hair but I am not exactly the attractive type. I feel exhausted of all the things this world has to offer and now I don't think anything matters at all. So I am just gonna chop them off.
i saw another comment that she too cried, and cut her hair (it turned out awesome that was what she said) and me too, i cried so i thought screw it as well, it just a hair and then instead of turning out good, it turns really bad lol its uneven and stuff but i hide it with my other hair .-. i just have to wait til it grows long now (i hate long hair) but my point is we all were having a bad day and decided to cut our own hair lol i hope everything will turns good for all of you!
Same!! Except it was my bangs that I cut. And well, best decision ever! I felt happier since I'd wanted bangs and they actually suited me. They did a nice job covering my forehead.
My hair was nearly down to my waist and I just got sick and tired of it...so I cut it, just a wee bit longer than yours in this video, and it is absolutely amazing, thank you so much for sharing this...(also for looking so amazing to inspire me to just go for it 😀)
Thanks! I like to do it with dry since my hair is very kinky at the roots and I have a cowlick, so I find that if I wet it when it dries it ends up all different length. My old hair dresser cut my hair dry too, but if it suits your hair type wetting your hair would be easier! - Tara :)
I've been trying to cut my own hair for 1-2 years now and it always looked a little wonky. I just cut mine using your technique and absolutely LOVE it! Even though I don't have access to a straightener right now it worked out perfectly fine! ✨ I'll continiu cutting my hair this way every other month or so. Thank you so much for putting this up! It's seriously brilliant!!!!! ✨
That was fun to watch. I’ve been cutting my own hair through the pandemic and it works really well, so I’ve carried on. Much to my surprise people complement my style without knowing I’ve been chopping away at my head. You had some great tips here, which I will try as I’d like some changes. BIG thanks to you. Take care. X
I let my mom cut my hair.. Worst thing I could’ve done! Now I look exactly like I did in kindergarten..! I’m unsure if I want to try and fix the mess she’s done myself or if I should go to a hair stylist, like she keeps screaming that I should...
I didn’t use this to do the original cut on my hair, I split it into 2 ponytails and then cut, mostly because my hair is really thin and I’m impatient, but I did use the upwards cut and I’m going to touch it up tomorrow after I wash it using this tutorial. So far I’m super pleased and I think it looks great!! I can’t believe you gave me the guts to do it myself since I can’t afford an appointment right now and I was sick of the split ends and upkeep! I’ll update you when I’m done! Thank you!!! ❤
I think I've watched about 20 videos this morning, and yours has been the most helpful by far! Thank you very much for sharing a short and sweet video with us! Those 30 minute ones made me doubt myself and yours made it look so incredibly easy!
Thanks! I've been cutting my own hair for 4 or 5 years, but never above shoulder length. Not until today. Watched your video and cut myself a bob. Loving it!
probably the best video for learning how to do a basic bob- every other video uses several products and techniques and I LITERALLY JUST WANNA KNOW HOW TO CUT A BOB!
Just lobbed off 8 inches of hair using this tutorial.. I’ve got a chin-length bob now, and I love it!! Feeling bouncy and light- just in time for summer gardening. :3
2 years late to this but thats amazing !!! my hair is down to my waist now but im also so tempted to go down to my shoulders and have that bouncy light hair for the summer !!!
You are soo cute! I am a mom of two boys, it’s hard to get in the salon for myself! So I often get frustrated and bust out my haircutting scissors and give myself a trim (bob as well 😉). My best tip is to leave it a bit longer than you’d like in case you royally mess up and need a professional to fix it 😅. I currently cut both my boys’ hair, but cutting my own hair is more challenging. I do find the blunt bob cut pretty straightforward and adding some upward texture does help make it more forgiving. You look lovely w short hair ♥️
Excellent video, thank you! As short as you cut yours is exactly the length I'm wanting to cut mine. Plus I needed courage to do it myself, and watching you take that much length off your hair was just what I needed.
Great video. I usually avoid any styling videos like the plague, but this was short, sweet, authentic and actually a realistic option for most people. Well done, your bob looks so cute and you explained it really well.
Suddenly had the urge to have a hair cut. I thought about cutting my own but have never tried. Then I found this video, luckily this is exactly the one I need. I followed the instructions and cut off more than half the length of my hair... and I LOVE it! What’s even better is I feel great about myself! Thanks!
This was definitely the most helpful video I have watched on cutting your own hair into a short style. I just cut my hair which desparately needed over an inch off the ends and it looks ok. Thanks.
Watching all these short hair videos to decide if I should grow my hair out or not, I like short hair when I can be bothered spending ages styling it but it is really hard on days when I can't be bothered especially since my hair is super frizzy and curly.
This so helped me over lockdown, and I've continued to cut my own hair because I LIKE how it turns out, and it simply makes me happy! I love the fact you can cut it when you want, and there's no need to traipse off to the hairdresser etc. Get loads of compliments too. THANKS!
Thank you! You made it look so easy that I've actually given it a shot yesterday! Looks different on me, but still works and I'm super happy with how it turned out!
Great results! I followed your video and my haircut looks professional and my looks are fresh and updated, at 62yo I am so glad you showed how to do it. And it was foolproof super easy :)
i LOVE that it's a normal/straighter looking bob you are going for and i just did this yesterday and it turned out awesome!! 😍 i'm sooo happy with the result~ 💕
hahahahahahahah you need larger scissors. Well anyways aside from that amusing feat- this cut came out so well and looks really cute on you, about to cut my own hair now :3 (doing it myself for a year since I'm cheap, and I find it fun)
Thank you for this video as a guide to cut my hair! I actually have really curly, thick hair, and it still came out super cute. Much appreciated guide!
I used your method and it worked great. I watched your video several times, and then cut it about 1inch shorter, and it looks much better than when it was getting too long.
I did this last night whilst video calling my friends and it looks so good! my family thought I was mad but I don’t place a lot of value in my hair and I don’t need it to be the straightest of cuts xx saved £40 as well!
This is my first time cutting my own hair ever. And my hair look kinda good i guess. Im satisfied with my own cut. Thanks for the tutorial! Appreciate it. It helps a lot!
I’ve been using a different method for cutting my hair, but I just tried this one and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Thank you.❤ I start school in a month so I was pretty nervous but it worked out thankfully.
It looks super cute xD I already cut my own hair, but I have pretty long hair and have never tried cutting it this short yet. Love the style, hope I soon try it.
Omg, WOW, AMAZING!!! I’m about to cut mine now. You and your video are brilliant, sweet, short and to the point, appreciate you. I’ll update how it turns out. Thank goodness this for this video brava 👏🏻🎉❤
After watching I will probably attempt this - I've been cutting my own bangs for years, but I've never taken the leap and did the whole head. Any tips on getting the back even with the front? Yours looks great! You make it look easy...
I used two mirrors to look at the back (one behind the head and another to see that mirror). Recently I also got Ellen to take a photo so I could see if it was even. - Tara :)
Great job. Love your technique. Soon I will probably cutting my own hair; which is short. Hopefully, when that time comes my hair will look great like yours. I am thinking of letting it grow, maybe I will try a new style completely.
That animation was so cute! How did you make it? I usually cut my own hair too (a standard cut in Sydney is $120...) but I cut it all in one go. I'm not going quite as short as you though- And at the moment, am growing mine out for the wedding 👰🏻
+mademoiselle I used after effects to make the animation. This is the first time I've cut it this short but I'm kinda loving it. Good luck with the hair growing! - Tara :)
That’s fantastic! It turns out so cute...only cut my own hair a couple of times so far, but I’m liking this one bc the use of a straight iron will be great for my weird wavy hair. Great, thanks!
That's good! My hair grew like 6 inches or so in 6 months and now it's at my chest but I really want a cute Japanese style bob that's ruffled up and cute you know what I mean!?
Not been game to cut my hair short before, but after seeing what a great job you did.............I'll think about having a go!! Your cut looks fantastic.
+Amanda Hills you can do it! Just make sure you cut it a bit longer than you want just in case you need to trim any off to get it even and you'll be fine :) - Tara
My dad is quite controlling so when I go back to his house (he was violent towards my mum so they broke up) whenever he goes out I’m going to cut my hair and write a note on the door saying “hair will grow back but self esteem won’t” with some of my hair attached to it...yes I completely planned this out eheh
Thanks for the short and sweet tutorial. I will definitely give it a try after learning that my usual hair-dresser's hair-cut rate just went up almost 40% from 11 months ago!
Imagine "did a full 180°" audio playing on loop as you read my comment "I want to cut my hair short" "I'm too shy to tell my mom" "I'll just do it in secret" "But how will she react?" "But what is the worst thing she could do to me, it's not like it's illegal" "What if i do it wrong?" "I live only once" "But what if i regret it?" "I'm just gonna watch videos to do it right" "But I'm scared. I'll just leave it." *back to the first sentence, read over and over again until you understand my dilema* Okay i told my mom and she completely hates the idea. I lied to her that i wanted the shoulder lenght and she was shocked. She said ok but was still horrified and what would she do if i told her i want it to be like Grace VanderWaal's hair in City song. Someone kill me pls
This is a late response, but, if you cut it unevenly, you can get it fixed. Hair grows back and I'm sure you would look *amazing* with Graces VanderWaal's haircut in city song! Those are my haircut goals too haha. It makes me sad when parents are so controlling over their children's hair and bodies. It's your hair and you can do what you want with it! That being said, I don't know your specific situation so do what you need to do to stay safe at home and remember you won't live under her roof forever
Thanks for sharing this info, I had some of the steps in place already, but thanks for the tip about the straightener and tying up the already cut hair! 💖 I work in healthcare, so I don't want to be getting any funny looks from co-workers if my cut ends up odd.. 😆 You're video gave me confidence to continue, thank you again!! 😘
Congrats on a short informative video that gets straight to the point. I was hoping to find tips on cutting your own hair in videos that weren't too long, and this is definitely beyond my expectations. Tried it, and I am really happy with the result! :) I had never cut my own hair and of course I made a few mistakes but practice makes perfect, right? Besides money, saves a lot of time and it's also a lot of fun!
+Emily Moon that's so awesome so hear Emily, I bet your hair looks amazing!! Doing it home is just so convenient and affordable. We actually just uploaded an updated version a few days ago if you want to check it out :) xx
I'm following this and i'm butchering my hair.. I don't care what anyone says.. I've been wanting short hair for a long time but i've been too lazy to go to the salon.. :/ Ok, i officially finished cutting.. I butchered it.. Why cant i go to a salon like a normal person?
I hate going to a stylist because I'm growing my hair out from pixie length and every time I try to get someone to even it out they cut it too short. I literally just followed the instructions from this video after watching it and my hair looks salon quality. I love it! Now I have cute little chin length bob. Forever cutting my own hair from now on.
I watched this over and over while cutting my hair. I am alone and no one knows what I did. I look gorgeous right now. Thank you 🙏
seola now someone knows haha
Hey so did you straighten your hair before cutting them? Is it necessary to straight them?
@@niveditachaudhary7891 its best to straighten it so that all the hair is at the same length so I would say that it is necessary
@@millyvane7099 okay thank you❤️
Nice
Love that you don't talk to much , half the time i turn off the video before finishing because the person takes 30minutes to say exactly what you did in 2. awesome

yes...very to the point...not too loud either...I don't need to feel like I'm at a concert when learning to cut hair lol. thank you guys for keeping it "short" and sweet lol
same here! I stopped the video when the person talks too much, I hate it.
Agreed.. She's gonna make a good wife someday.
I KNOW, GET TO THE BLOODY POINT ALREADY.
Here because of the quarantine.
Me too lol I hate my hair and can't go to the hairdresser
Omgg, exact same reason. xD
I think we have been isolated too much.
Hahaha me too!
Omfg, me too, I’ll try to cut my hair without my mom seeing me, so I’m super scared to do that, but at least I have an excuse😂😂
I did it! Yeetss the scissors
wow, I'm shocked it actually turned out good and with those tiny scissors.
Lpg 8 😂 those were for nails weren't they?
Katherine Canon yeah :D
Literally shocked to when i saw her scissor😂
@@alyssamala478 lmao I cut with same ones until someone told me that school scissors also exist 💀
I’m kinda dying on the inside at how small they are

Cutting hair straight is the best but i say of you have curly hair go to the salon or find someone who can
Lol same, but I'd rather cut my hair by myself, because my hair grows really really fast and I see no point in spending money on a hairdresser and just get it cut again after a month.

I'm not going quite as short as you though-
And at the moment, am growing mine out for the wedding 👰🏻
+mademoiselle I used after effects to make the animation. This is the first time I've cut it this short but I'm kinda loving it. Good luck with the hair growing! - Tara :)
Thank you! I followed this and I think this is one of the best cuts I’ve ever had-- what???😊
IM CUTTING ME HAIR AHHHH SO GLAD I FOUND THIA!!!
Excellent result. You have a good attitude too.
Going to try this because I am "sheltering in place". Thanks1
E
Just did this and it worked really well, thank you! I love that the video wasn't unnecessarily long as well
Thanks for watching Eva!
I love your method and it's more simpler than mine. But instead of straightening your hair, you could just wet it slightly.
That’s fantastic! It turns out so cute...only cut my own hair a couple of times so far, but I’m liking this one bc the use of a straight iron will be great for my weird wavy hair. Great, thanks!
My hair is growing from a long pixie right now and I want my hair this length so bad lol
Same
+Olivia Joyner Well good luck on your hair journey :)
Did it grow out?
Hey Lolita Yeah it's definitely not the length of hers in the video lol I still need about 2 or 3 inches but it has grown out quite a bit :)
This looks so good! I want to try it but I'm 15 and have long thick hair 🙈
Just did mine and delighted with result! Thank you for the concise video - amazing!
Oh no thats expensive! Hope it went well doing it yourself :) - Tara
Should I do it, yes or no?
Looking fabulous Tara! I love that you cut your own hair.
Also, ahhh the cute little animations :D Nicely done!
+The Dragonfruit thanks Linda, glad you enjoyed it :) - Tara
Imagine "did a full 180°" audio playing on loop as you read my comment
"I want to cut my hair short"
"I'm too shy to tell my mom"
"I'll just do it in secret"
"But how will she react?"
"But what is the worst thing she could do to me, it's not like it's illegal"
"What if i do it wrong?"
"I live only once"
"But what if i regret it?"
"I'm just gonna watch videos to do it right"
"But I'm scared. I'll just leave it."
*back to the first sentence, read over and over again until you understand my dilema*
Okay i told my mom and she completely hates the idea.
I LOVE this cut!! I'm definitely going to try it.
this was pretty helpful! Thank you for sharing! :)
Glad you found it helpful :) - Tara
Thanks for sharing this info, I had some of the steps in place already, but thanks for the tip about the straightener and tying up the already cut hair! 💖 I work in healthcare, so I don't want to be getting any funny looks from co-workers if my cut ends up odd.. 😆 You're video gave me confidence to continue, thank you again!! 😘
I am really sorry my dear hair but.....
*NO ONE CAN STOP ME DOING THIS*
Just wanted to thank you. Did it for the first time and it turned out great! 🙏🏼
That's so awesome to hear! Thanks for letting us know 💕
Nothing beats a bob to give you a lift.
We actually just uploaded an updated version a few days ago if you want to check it out :) xx
my fellow quarantined people, what's up
@@ilseettymariawijfjes615 lol same!
God bless you for this video. I just cut my hair using your instructions and it looks great. I appreciate your brevity and humor. Thank you!
+L B hahaha thank you so much!
I'm following this and i'm butchering my hair.. I don't care what anyone says.. I've been wanting short hair for a long time but i've been too lazy to go to the salon.. :/
Ok, i officially finished cutting..
