    Roux Porosity Control is something every relaxed girl should have in their arsenal. It just stays on for 30 seconds but makes a big difference.
    Besides a chelating poo, there's also ION hard water shampoo (sold at Sally's) that removes mineral buildup from hard water. Even if you don't use no lye relaxers it's still beneficial to remove mineral buildup every few months. Unless you live in an area w soft water the water we use daily has minerals in it that can build up on hair. Just using clarifying shampoo won't do the trick.

    Yup it is like the science just up and left when it came to relaxers. I saw a video last week by the Intentional Classroom Relaxer vs. Perms and it showed that after a perm they repair the bonds that are broken by the chemical process but with relaxers they are left broken and I was like shook. I mean how can we fix one and not the other? Is it because of who gets relaxers? I am not a conspiracy theorist but that really got me thinking. Now there is a short term solution, Olaplex at $28 for 3.3 oz! Hmm so maybe it is possible to create something a bit more permanent?

    • @trawlins396

      @@trawlins396 When you get a perm the chemicals break the bonds in your hair all three types, when the process is over these bonds are repaired. @Miriaaam I was using pure coconut oil. I tried it for about a month last year. The first two weeks were great. Then I noticed that my hair was splitting and a couple areas on the side looked like I had shingles. I always close my cuticles by rinsing my conditioner out with cold water. I couldn't figure it out. I begin researching the products I was using. Lo and behold, I came across an article on coconut oil that talked about it causing the hair to break (mine wasn't) and then it said it can also cause your hair to start splitting 😳 The only areas that were splitting and looked like shingles were the areas that I focused the oil in. I haven't had an issue since I stopped using it. Now I'm scared to use any product with it in there.

    • @sarahdanforth703
      @sarahdanforth703 3 года назад +1

      You first need to check if it's more breakage than shedded hair. If it's more shedded hair you might have a deficiency so it's best to visit a doctor, if it's more than usual. Protein treatments or protein deep conditioners could also help, but not unless you're sure you need it. If there's more breakage, try deep conditioning each week with heat or a steamer. The best thing would be to put your hair away if you're seeing breakage due to overmanipulation or heat styling. You can check out Seun Okimi new vid on breakage. It's really helpful

      But yes after I started taking iron seriously my hair has thrived. It's also important to know the TYPE of anemia you have. Iron deficient anemia is the most common but its not the only one. A lot of times doctors will just say "anemia" in general. But knowing the type makes a difference. There are 6 different types I believe. Vitamin deficient anemia is another common one.
