    Vektor is one of my favorite bands of all time. They used to live in the same city here in Phoenix that I'm at before they moved to Philly. I got to see a lot of their early live shows (you can see a couple terribly shot live vids on my channel from their last show here in PHX). This particular song is in my Top five metal tracks of all time.

      I saw them 3 times live. Wonderful humble people, saw them on the last show of their first tour with Exmortus, hands down my favorite show ive seen. Before Disanto broke his computer guitar lol.

      I was listening to pink floyd earlier in the morning before i hit on this song from Vektor for the first time. I thought it was just in my head because i had just listened the live version of Pink floyd's "On the turning away" but i am glad that it was not just in my head :D

    This is one of my all-time favorite bands. Three albums from them so far, and every one is an absolute masterpiece. My personal favorite is the second album. This is from the third, and was hailed as album of the year by many heavy metal websites and magazines the year it was released.

    Vektor is a great Band the whole album Terminal Redux is a masterpiece. LCD (Liquid crystal disease) and Charging the Void are masterpieces imo. Tetrastructural minds is also an amazing track from their second album

    The break in this song feels a bit like it overstays its welcome imo if you listen to the song on its own. Considering this is the last track on the album though it makes alot more sense and is needed.

      Yeah, this is right at the end of 70 minutes of the best riffing you'll ever hear. It's unbelievably fucking powerful in the context of the album, especially when you take into account the lyrics and realise that part of the song is the protagonist accepting their death in the name of progress and freedom for everyone else.

    Yeah it took me a while to finally get around to requesting this (my favorite song from my favorite band) because of their 'niche' appeal that you point out. A lot of people that try this band thinking it's going to be a typical thrash band end up despising it because of the vocals. I avoid pushing this band on people for that reason haha. Good call on the Overkill vocal comparison. I hadn't really thought of them before. I basically say the vocals are Black Metal Chuck Schuldiner.
    What's cool is that a few days after sending you this request, Vektor released a new track. They're finally coming out with some new stuff in 2021 after their 2016 album Terminal Redux.

    I love Vektor, but this song is probably a little bit too much of a deep end pick for a first listen.
    May try "Pillars Of Sand". That one is way more digestable but equally as awesome.

    • @StarsDie88
      @StarsDie88 3 года назад +3

      I figured he'd be able to handle it because of some of the progressive metal he's already heard. From stuff like Dream Theater and Between the Buried and Me. Also it's a bit of damage control in case he didn't like the screamed vocals; which is a common complaint with Vektor. So he would at least get some singing in there as a breather...
