What an amazing stitching year you had, Heidi!!! I am so excited for you to have those finishes! Your WIPs are beautiful and I always come away so inspired by your projects! Thanks as always and happy stitching!
Amazing video Heidi!! Those flowers are just beautiful...love the frame too. I am also stitching Evry Opening Flower and hope to finish it by March. It is one of my favorite stitches.

As always your stitching is so beautiful! Looking forward to seeing many more projects either finished or you have met the goals you set for yourself. Happy Stitching!
Absolutely gorgeous stitching, Heidi..you are an inspiration. I did search a bit for the R&R Winters Brew fabric..I’ve used it on some small pillow quilt designs and really enjoyed it as well. I can’t remember what count of fabric you would like but I did find 36 count in the Traditional Stitches website. Hope that helps. I really enjoy your flosstube. Happy New Year…Suzette
Thanks for sharing your finishes. So much eye candy! Happy new year. I hope the year treats us all well! Looks like you will be enjoying many more finishes this year too. Looking forward to seeing them.
Came across your video and fell in love so am a new subscriber. Love all of your projects. Thanks so much for sharing and look forward to watching more videos.
Beautiful finishes for 2023. I forget the name of the pattern by Brenda Keys, but that yellow house is gorgeous. I had to pause the video and buy the chart. I finished Brenda Gervais, Every Opening Flower. I love Blackbird Designs. I am currently working on Feast of Friendship (I think is the name of it) by Blackbird Designs, Weeping Tree Sampler by The City Stitcher, Weight Ins series by Stitching with the Housewives, Pumpkin Lane by Pansy Patch Designs, Rose Quacker. One embroidery project and two wool projects. Can't wait to see your progress on your 24 and Blessings Sampler.
My blessing sampler is 247x247….not sure what I was thinking but apparently I will be as busy as you stitching it. 😂 Loved seeing all of your finishes Heidi….so gorgeous! Thank you… Lori
I guess I am not the only one who didn’t realize to pick a smaller sampler for the Jan project 😂I am sure we will finish it this month Lori! 🤞Happy stitching 🧵
Heidi-What beautiful work you’ve both done and are doing. Thx for this video. Took me awhile to get through it. But well worth it. I can’t even begin to fathom how you get all that done! I only get a couple finishes done a year. And your projects are not small! They’re all pretty large! I love that lovely flower finish you did. As far as framers, I got tired of Michael’s making mistakes on my framing. So I checked out several other framers in my area. One does it out of her home. I had her explain the process she uses for needlework. She knows what’s she’s doing. So if I’m not sending to Jill Rensel, I’ll try that gal. You might try searching for a framer in your area. Might even be less expensive than Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. Also have you thought of making a full gallery wall? It’d be expensive to frame it all, but if you do, that would be a beautiful gallery wall.
That’s my goal to have one day full gallery wall, but cost of framing them all keeps me from having it. I have not checked out other options since I always assumed frame stores might charge more. But it is a good idea to look my area to see if I can find someone who knows needlework and framing. I even thought about taking some summer framing classes from local college so I can maybe frame my own. I see couple of flosstubes doing that, and I love all their framings 😁
You’re stitching is beautiful. How do you finish so many so fast! Happy New Year and happy stitching. I am sure we will see many more beautiful projects from you this year.
Hi! I have worked in picture framing shops and frame out of my home. To help you explain to your framer, you want spacers between the glass and the needlework so that the glass doesn't touch the needlework. This is a good idea even if you don't have beads, buttons or embellishments because the glass will smash your stitches and over quite some time, will pick up a ghost of your image. With regard to how much space you want between the edge of your stitching and the edge of the frame, I call that the float or breathing room for the piece to show separation from the frame molding. Any of these requests are reasonable and should be accommodated. Hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Usually framers that are not experienced with needleworks look confused when I ask for spacers. It is great idea to let them know what I want and why I am asking for it 😊
Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching! Yes, you can order the mats Shepherd's Bush uses as well as their kits and books. They will also kit up anything you ask. Tina and Terri are great.
I heard about it but I wasn’t sure since I never checked it my self, but that is great that designers are helping stitchers out sourcing mats and accessories 😊
Beautiful finishes! I want you to know that because of you I bought Winter Quaker it’s stunning! Pretty much everything you stitch enables me 😂 by the way whenever I want R&R fabric I call Dyeing To Stitch. ♥️
Oh thank you! I’ll try them next time I need R&R fabrics 😊 and congratulations on your new pattern and potential start! Just heads up if you are planning to use Valdani floss, which is called for, save yourself headache and for the snowflakes use regular ecru Dmc or silk. Separating Valdani is a nightmare 😂
Beautiful finishes, Heidi!! I'm fortunate in that I have a framer who is excellent at framing needlework. Altho I've never used them, I often see absolutely beautiful framing done by Rensel Framing. Have you seen their work? I know they have a website and you contact them either that way or by phone to make arrangements to send your piece to them. I have no idea how expensive they are, but their work is fabulous. Looking forward to seeing even more of your lovelies this coming year. Steph x
To find a framer who knows how to frame needlework is amazing! I fallow Rensel Framing on instagram and they used to post on Pinterest too! Love love their work! Hopefully one day I’ll have them frame one of my works 😁
Watch a tutorial for of Stitching with the Housewives. They mount their stitched pieces on Sticky Board, then another Sticky Board with fabric that’s slightly larger and finally onto anything that fits at Hobby Lobby like a frame in the unfinished area, a sign that is covered by the stitching, etc. I do suggest getting some quilt batting to put under your stitching before you mount to Sticky Board or acid free mounting board.
great video! For the Maurer Stroh monthly flowers - did you use the alphabet provided? If not, could you share how you did the months. I LOVE your font you used. I've got these patterns and planning to kit it up for this year.
Hi I goggled it free alphabet and found one that though matched best and used that. But since then I purchased Brenda Keys’s Ultimate Samplers Motifs Source Book and honestly I love the alphabets she provides 😊
I don’t. Sometimes i used them mostly for the pieces that are on the wall year round but for seasonal or stitchings on dark fabrics I don’t. If I use a glass usually I ask museum non-glare glass. 😊
Wow! A lot of beautiful stitching. Really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
