Rachel, I don't know if you read comments - but after watching you for ages I finally got the gumption to transform into my final form and make a "hobbit dress" (pinafore dress in textured cotton dyed a lovely dark green). I've been sewing for ages but was always too chicken to make myself an every day dress that maybe crossed into "but is she going to renfaire or the grocery?" Then I thought, what would Rachel do? And I made the dress. ❤️🥰 So thank you for sharing your ideas and skills with all of us.
@Mrs_Homemaker I love this so much! Congrats on taking the plunge and making the dress, and I hope you enjoy wearing it to the renfaire AND the grocery store, and everywhere else your heart desires! Your comment inspired ME!

Rachel just hanging in a pond and also singing a fabulous song about going to the thrift store where I didn't even realize it wasn't a pro singer for like 2 lines... The cursed boots... I'm so in love with her.
This actually made me remember a dress that I owned in 1969, when I was 11 years old, that was a bright lime green with purple accents, pockets and front zipper with a purple and green flower zip. I hadn't thought about that dress in years. It was one my favorites.
Since you’re not satisfied with the dress. Hear me out… PLEASE make a Mrs Toad “Mama” outfit from Thumbelina. Your frog babies might even accept you more with that get up.
My wife doesn't question it, but she DOES make me call her in for the reveals! I kinda love the Rachel version of these boots more than the real deal. They're more froggy!
When my roommate also loves your content, all the inopportune moments look like, "oh, I haven't seen it yet!" "It's great! Sit down!" "Okie!" *laughter and admiration ensues*
For your future craft goblin knowledge: You can make fake bread from Upholstery foam. I made a real cute Croissant with some leftover upholstery foam. It was yellow not green, though.
So I'm staying up ENTIRELY too late to watch this video... started absolutely CACKLING at 12:00, promptly waking my husband up, and then right after, you started talking about "What do the people around you think" and I just couldn't stop giggling 😂 What he thinks is that I should go to bed lmao Also as a die-hard Animorphs fanatic, YASSS ANIMORPHS REFERENCES 😍
It's so clear how much fun you had making these, and it was a true delight to watch the chaos unfold. I think your frog children are impressed with your shoes, they're just in the "I'm too cool" stage. Give it time.
I love the idea! If you have more scraps of the textured fabric, you could make a lily pad belt to cinch in your waist, and make the collar of the same material. It will bring everything together. Oh, and frog eyes on a headband would be amazing!
This reminds me of Mrs Toad in the movie "Thumbelina" from 1994. I think it's the volume in your hair and the boots and the "froggyness" of the outfit. I love it! 😂😍
Rachel's needlefelted banjo frog has been my desktop background since the video came out (specifically his dramatic yearbook type photo) and it brings me joy EVERY time i see it. much like rachel herself, who gives me a +5 boost to serotonin +10 boost to creativity and +20 boost to chaotic energy. edit to add- i often like to leave your videos paused at the most chaotic moments if i have to leave the room- full screen to be sure my husband gets to be confused and entertained
04:52 'Chaotic mess that needs to be organised' sounds like a job for Stash Hub - the sewing organiser app my husband and I created together! Love your videos Rachel, always here for the slightly cursed makes
I loved everything in this video. “I know exactly why I’m like this” to “I think I pulled a muscle!” Great to see Binx and Frodo as well as your web-toed children. 💝 Thank you as always for being an amazing person ❣️✨
I swear I find all these "cursed" projects more cute and fun than I probably should. Also, I absolutely adore when we get cameos of Binx and her dramatic screams. 😂She reminds me of my own calico, just a little louder.
One of the reasons I enjoy watching you is that we approach projects the same way: loose plan, limited knowledge, no mock ups. I like not feeling alone the crafting chaos. Also, this feels like a Miss Piggy/Kermit vibe and I'm here for it.
My husband did in fact walk into the room just as you were describing such a scenario. The conversation went like this: Him: She has weird feet. Me: She's making froggy shoes! Him: I hate them. *leaves room* ... Never disappoints! 😂
I loved the Animorphs reference!!! 😊 Also seeing the Haunted Mansion dress casually in the background was a gem! I started watching for the vintage content but stayed for the laughs and watching Rachel grow into an continually more wonderful version of herself. ❤ This video did not disappoint.
Racheal I LOVE this content. You're just bein' you, doll. Creative, out of left field, bonding with the animuls and just being your glorious floor troll self that makes us feel comfortable with ourselves and our notions. Of course I love your big adventurous projects, emulating our favourite media, interior design projects and learning new skills, but honestly this is a close second to my favourite viedo ever: you transforming into Gandalf and laughing at yourself and how much you enjoy the process. I love seeing you when you're struggling and doubting yourself because it's so relatable and encouraging, and I love seeing you when you're having just the best time, boo to what anyone may think. You go sister!
aaaa racheeeel you are my favorite flavor of human 🐸 & speaking of altering the dress; it would be cool to see a video where you alter/level up some of your past creations or other pieces in your closet, similar to the closet purge video. Very satisfying to watch + super helpful for getting tips and inspiration for upthrifting as someone just learning how to sew. And would give you a chance to spend that extra time with something, maybe to make it more flattering, maybe add a detail you didn't have time for the first time around etc.

Love the ‘70s looks on Rachel! I was there (had the denim skirt in ‘76) and can attest to the accuracy of her choices! P.S. The mushroom sleeves came out so cute!
you should use that lilypad pocket and the original piece of green scrap fabric to make a cute froggie apron!! peak pond life vibes, and should be a fairly quick project/instant gratification. I love where your brain goes re: cursed projects, please keep doing them!
Great video! What I love most about your channel is that you persevere with humor on your projects when a lot of people might have given up and not even shown the struggle. Thank you for being real.
maybe writing down what you don’t like about the fit of this dress would help in future constructions? or maybe you should try shapewear/padding? when i find the clothes i make don’t look as flattering as i’d like i usually realize it’s because my idea of what a body should look like is warped but padding and shapewear can sometimes help, even if it’s just to make things look smoother? it also helps with like more period accurate silhouettes. also maybe you could do another video of coming back to old projects and making slight alterations to see if you can come out with an end result you love more, i really liked that video!
The squinty face while crouching in the cattails is sending me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 also the size of these froggy feet are giving Puddleglum from The Silver Chair vibes 😆
This is absolutely incredible! The only thing I could have suggested would have been to take some of the fabric from the boots to the collar/lily pad as the colour contrast felt a bit off and this could tie it together? And also to either hot glue the toes together a little more, OR, (as they’re froggy) to add some cute webbing. But, you nailed it, and as always fun enjoyable content. You are a dream Rachel, never stop turning those wonderful, and sometimes crazy, visions into reality, I enjoy watching them so much! Xx❤
I loved the whole adventure! (especially the froggy dances/catwalk 😍) If I were to copy this project (…and to stay with the 60s vibe): • a contrasting green over belt (yoke or broad maybe?) with lily pad buckle • a smallish lily pad sling bag to balance the pocket • also, I’d try a “mossy” trim to the boot tops 🤔 As always,❤+! Can’t wait for the next vid!
Rachel, you made me crack up doing the runway walk in your lily pad dress and amphibian feet in 60's fashion. And I love how you did your hair in 60's fashion to go with your outfit
This popped up on my notifications right as you called your skull cursed in your Victorian skull women video that I was watching lol this is one of my most favorite videos of yours! It's just pure joy and fun!
For whatever reason THIS video in particular brought up such a strong feeling of appreciation for Rachel and her inspirational existence on this platform. Been watching for a long time now, always thrilled to watch whatever Rachel sends our way. It’s always an odd feeling considering someone who you’ve never met irl or had a conversation with, your friend. Anyways 💖 -your kindred spirit from across the void
This made me think of the Princess in the Frog story but the princess is just randomly kissing frogs because they're cute and then one turns into a prince and she just ignores him to live in the swam and become the frog queen.
Hi Rachel! in case you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! your channel has inspired me to do things i love and you got me through some pretty rough times. I've been around since about 2018 and have whatched all your older videos also. I hope you are doing wonderfully!
The 60s eye makeup is chef’s kiss. Also, I was watching some sewing videos, and there’s this method where you create something called a block pattern. It is suppose to solve the problem of patterns not fitting correctly/not looking flattering. Could be something you’d like to look into?
I literally just started working on a frog outfit and went to RUclips for something to watch while I do it and this masterpiece was just waiting for me?!?!?!?! I'm the luckiest frog in the pond 💚
Love the lily pad dress! I do think making the pads out of that 60s fav-Naugahyde or ‘rich corinthean leather’ or shiny, plasticky fabric will suit the chi nicely better (and fit the mod theme). And stop picking at your sewing abilities-no body looked awesome in mod wear except little boys and Twiggy. Nice repro!
🎶"I was a too. Tall. Frog! / Caught in a too. Small. Bog!"🎵 These boots remind me of the frog-foot prosthetics John Paragon wore for the title role in "The Frog Prince" by Golan-Globus/Cannon (1986), hence the obscure movie reference. That movie was my childhood, so this project brought back some good memories. #80sBaby90sKid If you ever get a chance to see that sweet little movie, DO IT. 🐸 About the dress: The problem with the "blah" feeling might be the high neckline. My torso is kind of similar to yours, and I find a V-neck or even a lower round neckline more flattering. Overall, the outfit turned out pretty cute, and was obviously a fun little side project. Thanks for sharing!

Loving the Mom-Frog from Thumbelina hair in the final reveal. Honestly, you are the frog Mamacita in the best way!
Great video!
What I love most about your channel is that you persevere with humor on your projects when a lot of people might have given up and not even shown the struggle.
Thank you for being real.
So cute. 🙂 You can add lily flowers to the lily pads and a few scattered around the dress to give some interest. Love the final look!
Ah, yes, the chaos of Rachel cutting out pieces. It never gets old! Love the musical bits.
@16:29 okay I cackled. Amazing work, you look so thrilled!
This was unfrogettable! Kinda wanted to see Bill’s reaction to the final product 🐸
maybe writing down what you don’t like about the fit of this dress would help in future constructions? or maybe you should try shapewear/padding? when i find the clothes i make don’t look as flattering as i’d like i usually realize it’s because my idea of what a body should look like is warped but padding and shapewear can sometimes help, even if it’s just to make things look smoother? it also helps with like more period accurate silhouettes.
also maybe you could do another video of coming back to old projects and making slight alterations to see if you can come out with an end result you love more, i really liked that video!
The squinty face while crouching in the cattails is sending me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 also the size of these froggy feet are giving Puddleglum from The Silver Chair vibes 😆
Oh my god they do
This is absolutely incredible!
Xx❤
You just need some giant frog eyes and you'd look straight out of some 60s B-rate horror film lmao. I LOVE it 😂
I loved the whole adventure! (especially the froggy dances/catwalk 😍)
If I were to copy this project (…and to stay with the 60s vibe):
• a contrasting green over belt (yoke or broad maybe?) with lily pad buckle
• a smallish lily pad sling bag to balance the pocket
• also, I’d try a “mossy” trim to the boot tops 🤔
As always,❤+! Can’t wait for the next vid!
Rachel, you made me crack up doing the runway walk in your lily pad dress and amphibian feet in 60's fashion. And I love how you did your hair in 60's fashion to go with your outfit
They way I gasped when you brought up bill!!!! I’m such a fan of his work! Our guest bathroom is filled with his art work! Lucky girl!
Absolutely yes
Really? This is unmedicated thoughts yea?
The lillypad pocket on the mushroom dress with the red sleeves would absolutely pop and also be friggin adorable!!
Hi Rachel! in case you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! your channel has inspired me to do things i love and you got me through some pretty rough times.
I'm the luckiest frog in the pond 💚
it's not just that you like the 60s and 70s. the 60s and 70s like you back. they really suit you!
Nice repro!
16:36 my dog woke up and thought that there's somewhere another dog. love your content, rachel! 😘
Once we got to the boots, I couldn't stop giggling
that fabric store song was pure gold omg
You look so awesome in your frog boots and dress with hair style! So fun! I enjoyed watching. I hope one day your frog children will accept you.😊
🎶"I was a too. Tall. Frog! / Caught in a too. Small. Bog!"🎵
These boots remind me of the frog-foot prosthetics John Paragon wore for the title role in "The Frog Prince" by Golan-Globus/Cannon (1986), hence the obscure movie reference. That movie was my childhood, so this project brought back some good memories. #80sBaby90sKid
If you ever get a chance to see that sweet little movie, DO IT. 🐸
About the dress: The problem with the "blah" feeling might be the high neckline. My torso is kind of similar to yours, and I find a V-neck or even a lower round neckline more flattering.
Overall, the outfit turned out pretty cute, and was obviously a fun little side project. Thanks for sharing!
I haven't even watched this yet but I know I need to thank you for the immaculate content u provide us
@@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt no need to be harsh I just meant to convey that this seems like a really fun/funny video and I was excited to see it before I even hit play
