    Just to say... I think Jude is an incredible player and chances are he will be a great but to already decide he will become the GREATEST English midfielder ever based on what he's done so far is insanity. He has excelled at his age unlike players of the past because there used to be a reluctancy to play younger players in the first team back in the day so players had to wait longer. Jude done very well for Dortmund in a team with Haaland and even Sancho (when he was showing signs of being a world beater) and now he's apparently pushed on for Real Madrid in a Spanish league which is about as weak as its been in a very long time. Real Madrid are a big brand but they and Barcelona are not the teams they have been. Jude has had a fantastic start to the season but so have many players who eventually fell off. I'm not saying won't become Englands greatest but to be SO sure that he will seems a lot like bias based on whats currently happening combined with wishful thinking.
    Zacs call that Bellingham WILL win the world cup is crazy too. England have always fallen short at senior level and while we have been incredible in the youth competitions recently, none of the winning teams have had Jude in them so why would we consider him the vital player to a team that comes through that have already won an international trophy as a team? Its a lot of "could" "probably" and "might"
    TLDR: I think Jude could become Englands greatest player, but I don't think its as insane to suggest that he wont as the FD guys are making it seem.

    • @Izzy-it1ys
      @Izzy-it1ys 11 месяцев назад +18

      Those sorts of “debates” aren’t even debates they’re just more or less speculation and honestly feel utterly pointless and can be done with literally any talented young individual, I only think they mentioned Jude just so they can praise him for what he’s done at Madrid so far because he’s English. But already calling for him to be better than Scholes,Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham and Bobby Charlton is nuts to me

    • @therealcozyboy13

      I totally agree. If it were a question that weren’t true or false, most of us would say he could become the best, but since you have to choose one, all things being equal, defaulting to Bellingham becoming better than some absolute legends before him is a strange shout, and a bit disrespectful.
      Zac making that World Cup prediction is just hilariously in character. In an answer where they’re already made a pretty outrageous shout, he has to go on and make an even more insane one.

Also touching on Jude, 5 years ago I think we would have all said that Mbappe, the greatest talent of the last 10 years, would eclipse Henry to be the greatest French forward of all time. 48:34 can someone remind Zac that in the 10 seasons between 2009 and 2019, the only person to win the European Golden Boot, whose name wasn't Messi or Ronaldo, was Luis Suarez. And he did it twice. Once for Liverpool, after having missed the first 5 or so games due to suspension. The other time for Barcelona. So not only did he beat prime Messi and Ronaldo playing for a less fancied Liverpool, he went to La Liga and beat them there too. By the way, in those two seasons, he had something 14 assists for Liverpool and over 20 for Barcelona. If Luis Suarez name isn't part of a discussion about the greatest strikers ever to have played in Europe, then you are having a debate with the wrong people. He won't ever be the greatest, but his name deserves being mentioned. Unfortunately, he did also have a nasty side to him, which probably cost him the chance to win more individual awards like the Ballon D'or.

    Very surprised to see most of the lads backing Man Utd to finish above Chelsea. There don't look to be many signs of hope that United will turn things around, while Chelsea always had decent underlying numbers and starting to look like they'll click and start putting chances away. The problems at United go far deeper than Chelsea and they look like they're in a toxic spiral - Chelsea can only get better as a young team start to build confidence and belief after a difficult start.

    Technically Ederson has cost City more games than Kalvin Phillips, does that mean hes a worse signing?
    Havertz gives arsenal nothing beyond a body that plays ahead of more talented promising players and cost money that could have been better spent on a contract extension for Saliba and an actual backup striker or right back.
    Onana, despite his clangers, very clearly gives united an option that has previously been inaccessible to them and actually had thought put into it.

    About Bellingham becoming the greatest English midfielder- every "yes" argument was a complete joke. David Beckham has won 6 PL trophies, 2 FA cups, CL and La Liga. He was hyped when he was young, but now he got just one quick mention. But Bellingham, who has won only 1 major trophy, is was talked "he will win multiple La Liga's, CL's, WC and Euros". I'll remind you that Michael Owen arrived at the scene as a 19-year-old and set the world on fire. He won Ballon d'Or, but even he didn't get a mention (sure he was a striker, but still). Both Beckham and Owen went to Real. Not saying that Bellingham can't become the greatest English midfielder, but these people talked like this is set in stone which it's not.
    de Gea IMO was never the best shot-stopper in the world. He had great moments, but I never thought that he was the best. For every great game, he had a horrible game. Sure, during his peak there were more great games and fewer horrible games, but I never looked at de Gea and thought to myself "Oh [insert strong PL, CL, WC, or Euros team] will have a hard time with scoring against him". When Neuer was at his peak I thought that "no one would score since Neuer is in goal".
