His & Hers, at 5:14, you found a 'SEE' truck. It is a Unimog based-'Small Emplacement Excavator' (SEE). Designed to build a 'small emplacement' for a crew-served automatic weapons fire position. Those are slow as hell, but very useful.
Congratulations on new trucks. If only I had that kinda money. One day. Possible name. Roadrunner. That’s what the horn reminded me of. Lol. Looking forward to future videos.
“Now we need two more.” But honey then we can have separate master, living room, kitchen and spa bathrooms all with a connecting deck. Looking forward to following the build!
Based off the bumper number, it looks like your new truck once belonged to the Forward Support Company (FSC) of the 164th Engineer Battalion out of North Dakota National Guard before making it's way to Texas. I definitely look forward to watching this series as it progresses! Hopefully you guys document everything you do to the truck, it gives a lot of ideas for people trying to figure out ways to make their own projects work.
Sorry for such delayed comment but I was deployed for a long time and catching up. Lots of fun activities over last year. Congratulations on the newer 1087. Noted the comment at 3:20 that the newer truck has more power than Banta, is that because the newer truck has a different engine and transmission or just the fact that newer 1087 has only 3100 miles? Where was the company or owner that had all the military vehicles for sale at 5:30, would be fun to see what they have. Saw they had an old SEE tractor. Other curiosity i had was the comment at 5:50 that all the dash lights work, doesn't bantha's lights work? Is dash lights not working a common problem with lmtv 1087s? Is it something difficult to fix. You guys have made so many repairs and mods, it seems like it would be an easy repair. Fortunately Marines don't seem to have that problem with our 5ton truck that I ever observed. Good luck on new build. Look forward to the videos!
Hi Mike, the new truck has a CAT C7 and Bantha has a CAT 3116 so more horsepower. The owner of all the vehicles is the Brazoria County Military Museum near Houston TX. Yes Bantha's dash lights don't work and never got around to fixing them as we don't dive at night much. We did install an aftermarket aircraft grade instrument illumination for when we do travel at night. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
We both enjoy Star Wars (and Zack does have a Storm Trooper costume) but neither of us are total starwars geeks. We just thought Bantha fit perfectly, being a big, slow, beast of war.
Quick question, do they just sell the expandable van? I don't need the truck. I have been looking all over for different types of expandable vans that are separated from the truck. If you could pls. Thx
Hi, wish we could help you. As far as we know AAR manufactures boxes, but not sure that they sell to civilians. The military has not yet begun decommissioning the boxes. Thanks for reaching out. Maybe somebody else has information on this and will post it for all of us. Anyone???
@@BANTHA-M1087FMTV thx guys I have found some that sell the boxes alone. Some are in really bad shape. Still looking. But they are out there. Thx alot. Good travels!
@@BANTHA-M1087FMTVgreat videos! Any thoughts on what the boxes might go for? We’re considering a 1086 or 1087 for the length, but wouldn’t use the box itself. Seems like we’d need to recoup a good amount with the box for a 1087 to make sense for us personally. Thanks for any suggestions!
@@lylekrannichfeld9634 It's tough to say an amount with so many potential variables (condition of box, location vs buyer,...). However, they have been extremely difficult to get a hold of, so demand and rarity drive prices up. We are slowly seeing more M1087's on the market. The last truck with box sold for $125k, not yet converted. If you cruise some Facebook groups, you may find more helpful info. (Steel Soldiers, LMTV owner groups...). We'd bet you'd have NO trouble finding a buyer and most likely apt to recouped a substantial amount. Good luck and keep us posted! 🥂

Good name, IF the horn stays. It's lame though, needs to go!

Yes! Thanks!
G rated bath!!
Build another 1? I am gonna watch & learn it all the way to prepare & apply to my own rv.
Love it! Awesome trucks, great story, and nice bonus to see Carlsbad Caverns. We took the boys there when we lived in Vegas.
Thanks Dave. Oh my goodness, those Caverns were so interesting, would go back anytime to spend more time exploring.
Can’t wait to see the progress and buildout videos!

Cool information, thanks! We will do our best to document the progress every step of the way. We have some exciting new ideas!
Nailed it! We found this info, which matches what you said. Manual listed S.Dakota national guard F602
Awesome, can't wait to watch the build-out!!
Congratulations on the new purchase. Excited to see what you do with two of them!
Thanks so much!
Great catch up video.
Thanks!

Thank you! Yes, it had 3,100 on miles when we bought it. It is now around 6K

I was waiting for this video. What a score! Do they still have the other one for sale??
Yes, still 1 available, in great shape.
damn!! thats so cool
Thanks so much! Appreciate the watch and a subscribe.
Congratulations on your new M1087, would you tell me how much you did pay for it if its not a secret?
We paid $75K for the truck, just as it sits, no mods.
Who's the Star Wars fan to name the first M1087 Bantha?

Hi, which place are you inquiring about?
The place in Texas where you got the vehicle I live in Houston
