Hi Siddybuckets! :-) So cool to hear from a former resident/owner. Everyone loves this home in the comments and it was indeed a great home with a great back yard and vibe. So many homes in Adelaide are going down for units to cram in more people. Glad you were able to enjoy 20 years in this one! Thanks for the comments, tell your Mum she did a great job giving it extra character! :-)
Thank you so much for making a visual record of older homes around Adelaide. So sad that so many unusual and lovely homes are demolished. Its really great to see these houses. 😊
All immaculate inside, even solar on the roof. Air conditioning, pool… what a waste! I’d live there as I’m sure would a lot of others! Thanks again Paul, for showing us around x
My Mom and I saved a lot of bottle tops. She always wanted to make something out of them. We never could think of what to do with them. Now that she has passed away, I always wanted to make something in honor of my Mom. Seeing this video gives me some wonderful ideas. I could make a bench top and matching tabletop. I know she would have loved this. Thank you so much Paul for sharing this video.
“ Oh! You beauty!” Thank you for turning off the AC in the adorable bottle top house. They probably had many friends and loved to entertain. I imagine they were paid beaucoup bucks to leave their little nest, because I can’t think of another reason to leave it.
@JohnShinn.5724 well I don't know about being worthy of admiration, but I look at it like a small business Paul is running and a little feedback from the customers never hurts 🙂
Yes this year has been mostly farm and rural uploads. There are a few reasons why but I have many suburban ones still to put history too and also wait until appropriate time. But I have ones like this ready to go. :-)
That looks like a home that was well loved and thoroughly enjoyed. I hope there were plenty of children growing up and having great times with all their friends invited over.
Another empty house about to be demolished for newer ones to be built in their place but glad you have a chance to explore it before it is torn down and is a really great place to look around at and I was surprised to see the big swimming pool in the backyard but the inside of the house wasn't that bad and was really nice especially in the kitchen, living room and all of the other rooms everything in very nice shape i really enjoy watching your videos every Saturday and during the week just to see the great old houses that you look at and explore here Thank You very much and Thank You.🎄🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🎄
Hey Pauly! You have no idea how much work I had to go through to capture you as a screenshot on my phone. Lol. You are built exactly like my son. He’s a brick house too. Do you do bodybuilding? Now I’m not going to worry so much about you traipsing through random empty houses out in the Australian Outback. I am glad that you’re not in waist high weeds in your shorts though. I do wonder why the developers were in such a hurry to buy out homeowners to just let the properties sit empty and open like this. And I’m glad you turned off the AC. Such a waste of energy! Take care!
Hi Cali :-) I train enough to maintain physique I built years ago but was never a "Body builder" in the true sense :-) The developers buy these places and they just sit waiting while plans are being approved and like this one power is still connected lo :-)
Well I'm going to do like some other people. At 1:53 pm in Georgia it is 53F , it's usually warmer in the southern part of the United States. Which can be nice,I think . That was a pretty nice house and it was neat to see what they did with the bottle tops. I'm also glad the door was open. Because it would have been rough to go through the doggie door as big as you are. It might have been rough for me,as little as I am.🤪😊
What a nice home. I would definitely be happy living in this beautiful house. I love the kitchen and the patio.. I am sure the family that had lived there had many happy times.. Too bad it has to be destroyed.
This one's another too nice to demolish if that's what's gonna happen. Do the ceiling rosettes and cornices belong in this one? I think not. I'm guessing the garage became a home office with overhead storage. That's one "cool" explore Paul, thanks! 🤠👍 🇺🇸
🌟oh my gosh another character home in the burbs such a shame it’s going to be demolished damn! Love the pool wouldn’t mine a dip! It’s been pretty hot 🥵 in Sydney having a heat wave for the last couple of weeks and they say there is more coming. Thank you for the tour very nice place. 🌟❤️😊x
Urbex Indigo thanks my friend for sharing this video with me about Immaculate and quirky 50`s home with a huge pool and recent upgrades it was a really nice home it is to bad they are going to redevelop it it is a really nice home . i am from the U.S.A And i will always show you support to your channel i gave you a thumbs up and gave you a shared you on my community tab my friend and God Bless
love the whole home love how the deck is built around the swimming pool the kitchen was a nice design it seem very odd that there was a toilet on its own and as you walked into the bathroom you had a shower bath vanity unit and then another toilet loved how they did their art design by bottle tops but it was a great home
Oh this is still such a great home in perfect condition. I bet plenty of people would love to buy it and live in it, or rent it out. But developers bought it and the one beside to squeeze units on. What a waste of a perfectly good home. You can tell it has great bones and has been well taken care of and loved.
Wow this home was amazing. Someone certainly had a style of their own and personalised it to suit their indervidualality. Chimney Feature out the front maybe plasitc bottle tops. But it looks amazing. Someone took alot of time and effort. For that and the stunning bench. ( Maybe they're flower children/hippies). That pool is massive. That would have been a well loved well used pool for the family and friends.... And it looks like it would have been a great place for parties. Cute Garden Shed thing. They tried to make it look nice too. So it would blend in with the house looking so nice. You can tell that this house was well loved in the day. Such a shame that they knocked it down. And leaving the power on and the air conditioning running to me is just crazy. Ceiling Patterns id say its mid to late 1960's. Art Deco Revival Home... mid 1950's. Wouldnt be 1960's they had stopped the ceiling patterns by then. Lovely wood floors. Well looked after Nice fireplaces. Glazed Brick.. left to look natural noone upgraded by painting over it. Nice sized rooms. All built ins (origional ones behind so you got extra storage or great hide and seek game hiding spots. Bet the kids loved hiding in those). Really clean and well looked after Someone really cared for this place. Cared enough to update it fairly recently. Huge back sun room with more awesome bottle top artwork Great garage conversion. . Owner probably older moved into resdiental elder homes or nursing home (like my grandparents did before they passed away... Sadly their lovely home was later knocked down. Most of the homes on their street were... Big ugly modern appartments are there now i miss them and that house so much).
therealcoltstonewolfe you know your stuff, you are correct about the 50`s art deco ceiling patterns not continuing in to the 60`s. :-) The chimney is a great example of what became a distinct 60`s feature and the windows are also a bit of a pre cursor to the 60`s Cape Cod style homes :-) Glad you enjoyed cheers for watching :-)
Cool find this old home, I knew this floor plan as you were walking through it. I know of 2 families in the Adelaide (Marion) area living in these model of homes, all a slight variation on the same plan. The other 2 are early 60s. I'd say designed in the 50's carried on in the 60's... Nice. Thanks for sharing Cheers MM :)
Not cubby hut Paul, "cubby house". You can tell you weren't a girl growing up.🤣😂 🎉🎄🎅Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.🤶🥳🌲😊🌻 P.s. going home for Christmas, watch the drongos on the road😊.🎊
That is a great looking house. I sure wish some people with vision would take them. Some states here in US have tax sales. Where if you bid the most you own. Sometimes they have stipulations that owner could pay taxes, but most times doesn't happen.
That house is in way better shape that what I'm living in here. Beautiful floors & aircon don't exist here either. The only thing nicer is my yard. Oh well. My house deserves demo more than that cool house. It's funny 'cos it's true.
Lovely place. Shame that it is worth more (for the land) by being demolished. Have said it before, but they won't be happy until everyone is in a little box.
That every fine house it sad pull it down you can tell there dog with doggy door back door 💕 it has pool don't know leave nice house that one just don't get it
I just don't get it!!! Why would that gorgeous home be demoed?? We almost got a shot of you in the mirror!! Cheers and Merry Christmas! Wednesday 8:11p.m. 28 degrees..cold!! Mansfield, Ohio, USA
Never knew other than it was developers as it was purchased. They let them sit there waiting for demo while development plans are being approved. It was just the right thing to do turning the air con off :-)
Really, you believe it's acceptable to just wander into someone's house uninvited, regardless of it's occupancy status you can't just wander onto someones property.
How is this even possible?! why does SA have so many abandoned homes? Do you guys not have land tax and council rates & taxes? I'm 40 years old and never once seen an abandoned property in victoria lol. Surely this had to be a sold property that's going to be demo'ed and built on right? That being said, why wouldn't they turn the mains power off when they left lol? Can you imagine the thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars the power bill would be? 😂
Developers buy them and they sit waiting to be demolished while plans are are being approved. Going on all around Australia atm. Cheers for watching :-)
Another great Vlog, so glad ya back filming in suburbia, I was a bit over all the farm properties, amazing how many perfect city homes get demolished for redevelopment!cheers from Downunder ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
I used to live in this house for 20 years. My mum gave it all the personality with the art and bottletops. Was an amazing place to grow up in!
Great house 😀
That backyard is a VIBE
This only the second time I've seen someone related to a house reply.

Thank you so much for making a visual record of older homes around Adelaide. So sad that so many unusual and lovely homes are demolished. Its really great to see these houses. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Elise and my pleasure. 😊 Glad you appreciate them and like watching 🙂👍
Hi paul, great to hear that someone replied that they lived there. Good work. Cheers Deb
I love the way some of these Australian homes have those plaster patterns in the ceilings. Nothing like that in ordinary homes in the U.K.
All immaculate inside, even solar on the roof. Air conditioning, pool… what a waste! I’d live there as I’m sure would a lot of others!
Thanks again Paul, for showing us around x

Back in town, hallelujah! Thanks, Paul!
My heart hurts knowing this beautiful, unique home has been destroyed. Thanks for showing it to us.
that door knob was so pretty and the floor is wonderful

That looks like a home that was well loved and thoroughly enjoyed. I hope there were plenty of children growing up and having great times with all their friends invited over.

I'm from NC USA and my house is over 200 yr. Old and I remodel it in the early 2009' and I have plaster medallion in my living room y office .
this place is in to good a condition to be demolished its beautiful
That’s a nice place. I bet they had to pay the owners a pretty penny to get ownership of this land.
Thankyou for sharing.

Squatters perhaps?
🤔
What a great air conditioned idea!
I'm on my way! 🤠👍
I’ll squat there, what’s the address please? 😄
You know whose house that is or you would not have bothered to turn the air off
