Its always enjoyable watching you and the apprentice giving tlc to the fleet. I was half expecting a "Fergie" moment at some point wirh all those repeated flushes, but glad to see it all went well. In this day and age the manufacturer seems to have forgotten the need sometimes to drain out 100% of any fluids. But thats their style of progress these days, they probably saved a shilling by excluding a drain plug on the block. Many thanks and keep safe. David in the UK.
It's great that he takes interest. He's an awesome helper. I couldn't see a drain bolt but that's not to say there isn't one. My way worked, it just took a while. Cheers
Of course, in the old days, the life of the coolant would outlast the rest of the car. Nice touch at the end, as you kept the theme of sluices going. Cheers!
Great work with the coolant flush Jonathan! That's what I hate about coolant flushes especially if you're using a flush cleaner. It takes forever to get all of that stuff out. I'll have several 5 gallon buckets to put all of the drained coolant in until it comes out clear. Have a good one Jonathan!
Nice work buddy i`m loving thr new invisable safety shoes lol dishwasher tablets are good for coolant tanks but ive just brought a new tanks £20 so carnt complain for that price
@@Badgertronix it's a shame the shipping from other countries would cost a fortune I'm glad here in the uk some prices carnt stupid as said I picked up a brand new genuine vauxhall tank for £20 which is really good mind you I could of used an old pop bottle as they are plastic anyway lol only changing mine is it had a headgasket done last year sometime before i had it and they never cleaned the tank so it's got oil stains still inside it even though the coolant is good but I'm picky and like to see it like new lol
I am impressed with 290 kms. I think this is proof that Hyundai/Kia have upped their game over the years. I remember you had a problem in your viscous unit, have there been any other major failures?
It was the centre diff that gave out at great expense to the warranty company. It has been otherwise pretty reliable. Parts prices are very steep which is somewhat off putting
@@Badgertronix OK, I will check out the old video. I remember now it was Eric O from South Main who had the viscous problem, he saved his customer a huge amount by x reffing. a bearing.
question for you. when emptying the radiator through the drain hole you removed only 4 liters. If you disconnect the lower hose going to the rad and run engine/water pump for a short while wouldnt that remove all old coolant? Cheers
Hi mate I have a question wondered if you could help. I have a Santa Fe same as yours. My coolant keeps dropping in the reservoir bottle it doesn’t appear to obvious where it’s going it only drops to the bottom of the expansion reservoir and I’ve done a sniff test to see if there was any gasses in the coolant and it seems fine. Just wondered if you had any ideas you could share lol
I have same Santa Fe (2013) and had same drop in coolant very gradual and could never find it. Bought a pressure tester for radiators and found leak instantly!! It screws into radiator cap housing and you pump air in to pressure system so it forces the fluid out of the leak so you can see it. Good luck.
This makes me feel bad. The best my cars ever get is a quick and dirty drain off and refill with bottled (still) water and the correct (or multi-purpose) antifreeze. Mind you yours did look like it needed a full flush.
Hi from the UK...
Been following your casts to help me look after my trusty 2015 SF...
Keep up the good work..

Love the Thomas T shirt. Good commentary along the was and I enjoyed the drone shots.
Thanks mate. The Thomas shirts are my favourite. The drone footage was too good not to share
Good job, I clean my overflow tank with spray of degreaser and then scrub it out with an old toothbrush then flush out. Comes up beautiful and clear

290,000 KMs is a fair life for antifreeze. Hopefully this car battles on for some time to come. Cheers
Where’s the Morris Minor restoration, I’m having withdrawal symptoms.

It took a very long time but always nice to have nice clean fluids. Thanks Terry, hope you and the family are well
Liking the drone eh . New Zealand looks just like British Columbia but without lumberjacks and Thomas of course :)
Thomas would fit right in. Just needs a mullet 🤣
Nice end footage where in nz was it filmed. Over in Manchester UK it's cold and wet!!!
Thanks. This was around Lake Pukaki and Lake Benmore in Otago. Went down to get our camp setup for summer 😎🌞
How many ks on your santa fe now? Any major repairs?

Nothing wrong with bare feet. Keeps you in touch with nature 🤣 I can't afford Hyundai prices so I'll give this one a clean. Cheers mate
@@Badgertronix I can imagine dealers price is stupid but at least you sorted it out
Dealers are expensive and there's not as many aftermarket suppliers like you get with Ford or Audi

Me again...
Would it not have been easier to hose flush the system???..
Do you have to use the flush fluid all those times or was it just water after the initial flush solution?
how many litres did it take? mine hasn't been done in 15 years!! unless it was done when the fitted a new timing belt about 9 years ago?
What year is your Hyundai Santa Fe ? What sort of major repairs have to done so far ? What is your most frequent repairs if any ? Thanks mate.
Top job mate good for another couple of years 👍👍👍 what drone did you get ? I like to get one for the summer
Cheers mate. I got the DJI Mavic Mini. Very impressive but they've now released the Mini 2 which looks even better 🙄
@@Badgertronix cool thanks mate 👍

No there’s some in the engine that will only be released when the thermostat hits a certain temp.

This car has a hard life. It deserves some attention now and again. At least I'm setup for easy coolant changes now I know what's in there
Hey! Would you be so kind sharing some of your knowledge about your audi 80 engine? If so, is there a way to contact you?
I can try. Email in the video description
That's all it takes.
