Great work Dexter's world, I don't think feeding them more will solve the cannibalism issue, the best way could be 1. Sorting and seperating different sizes to groups early and 2. Provision if bigger space per fish or say low stocking density
To have a higher survival rate you will have to separate them by size on a regular basis. At least weekly. I am really enjoying rewatching this series. I am getting 100 4-6 inch Channel Catfish on June 11. I will put 40 in my pond and keep 10 for breeders. Thanks for the inspiration.
You need to continue to tell people you are farming. Plus, you or your workers ate the fish afterwards.... which is how all the catfish will end up eventually.

Those are African Sharptooth catfish; one of the Hardiest breeds that exist.
Here in South Africa they have been seen walking Kilometers away from the dams to get to others and can live in sewage or stagnate pools.

Ouch careful Dexter those catfish will get you. I love fried catfish and I also like them grilled on the George Foreman grill they get really nice cooked from both sides. I can't believe you didn't get more fish, maybe you have to make something where the smaller fish can swim through a partian with smaller holes were they'll be protected from the bigger fish. Maybe stack rocks or caves that they can hide behind or in 🐟

I'd like to add that the cannibalism is not actually because of inadequate feed, they just have a natural instinct for preying on smaller fish.. To ensure maximum profitability, you would have to perform a sorting by size every two weeks starting from a week of being fingerlings

Maybe buy a macros lens for more fun shots dexter.. u seem to have alot more fun caring for fishes than livestocks, what about salt water fishes like the clownfish is easy to bred in captivity and extremely popular because of Disney movie Finding Nemo. The key is maybe u can show people an easy cheap way to keep saltwater tanks..

I'm sure that we understand Dexter, I think most countries now have their people in lockdown, we too have to stay at home for a few weeks. It always amuses me when people see how their food is really raised and killed for them to eat, it's as if they expect that fillet of fish or chicken to have come directly from the supermarket. Sigh.
