- We bought a 230 year old Alpine Chalet, dismantled it, and today we will rebuild it in ONE DAY in the chateau's gardens to use as a folly and garden shed!
We live in a medieval castle with a huge, derelict estate in southern France. Follow our ambitious garden projects, from vineyards to formal gardens, tropical plants to self-sustainability. Our project is enormous and our enthusiasm contagious. We'd love you to join us.

I lived the smile on Mark’s face. Great hide out for Clement and Juliette.
Wow! I too think the chickens would love to have their own Swiss chalet. 1790...and even older trees. This 'shed' will last far longer than any big box store shed by a long shot. Well done, Marc! It adds even more charm to your lovely château.
Love it! And now I think Juliette would like another little chalet of her own❤😊
Marc looked like a kid who just won the grand prize. Well done.
Wow, such a wonderful historic addition to your home, I was captivated watching its reconstruction, thanks for sharing
This is incredible. I love the way Marc thinks.
He is doing a restoration, not a renovation.
Everything blends so well with your historical buildings.
Kudos to his authenticity.
Marc looks like the cat that got the cream , loving the finish , the chalet looks as though it has been there for years , well done to all that was involved. I think Amy you have lost Marc for good with all his new projects for the garden 😁 . Enjoying all you are doing xxx
My husband and I watched this together. We were spellbound! The construction was so amazing. Simple building techniques created a wooden structure that lasted almost 250 years. The climate in the Alps must be perfect for timber, to preserve it without rot or bugs. Astonishing story! Thanks
Mark is as pleased as a little boy! It is a wonderful little chalet!
That is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Look how clever our ancestors were!
Marc does find the most unusual items - the greenhouse and now chalet. Kudos to you!
That's an amazing garden shed, with lots of character, charm, and history!
Oh wow such a gorgeous “cute” piece of history, and now it’s yours fabulous find Marc ❤
Wow, love this from start to finish.👏💪😀😍
Thank you Marc for this history lesson, I loved this video and you guys are doing a great job!!
The craftsmanship is superb. A fabulous addition to your chateau grounds.
Mark, I would have loved that log house when I was a little girl. You better get ready your children will want it for a play house. Lol..lol.. Kathy USA 🇺🇸
What a fabulous purchase Mark and love the history. The children will have so much fun playing in. What a find!!!
Delightful story and great music! Thanks for sharing your fascinating life with us! 🥰
How wonderful to save something so historical instead of letting it be destroyed. You are to be commended.
I always enjoy seeing Mark smile. It warms my heart.❤❤❤
love the giant size key for the little tiny door of the Mazot - so cute. Like something from a fairy story.😊👍
What a truly magnificent structure and what amazing carpenters past and present 👍. Well done all at Chateau de Rosieres, definitely need one for the chickens 👍, one for the cows👍 and certainly one for the children to play in 👍👍.
That was enormously satisfying to watch, a beautiful building, a crew knowing exactly what to do. Well done, I really enjoy your projects.
I love that you are always going the extra Mile to add love and character to things instead of just buying something at the Garden Center.
Fantastic! Best vlog yet! I loved watching this little chalet come together!
That was delightful, thank you, Marc & Amy!

I've never seen Marc so happy.
😊 That is awesome! An antique that will probably last forever!
What a charming chalet. I love buildings that show their age. Mark’s face when he used the key. ❤
Only Marc could discover an antique work of art and repurpose it so brilliantly. Great video ❤
Marc is like your office /library , nice hang out zone❤
Mark really loves locks. So happy for you all. Another lifetime of memories for the chalet.
A lock is good if you want to keep your tools.
And if he needs to keep the children out if he has tools that could hurt them in there.
Marc, you are so entertaining and your dedication to bringing back history is phenomenal! The rebuild of such a structure had me glued to the site....wow! Well done!
Marc, it looks like it was always there in that spot. You are so intelligent and I love everything you do. Great video. xx
What a beautiful addition to your property! I love that not much is new. There is real beauty in things that were built to last more than a lifetime. So much for the idea of getting a new model frequently!!
This is one of my favorite RUclips shows! I always enjoy seeing what you create and its beautifully filmed. Well done!
That’s so fun to see how it was constructed!!!
They’re kind of like cross-sections of a log home, with the pegs to hold the boards straight, because they don’t have the weight and rigidity of an entire tree trunk.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your endlessly interesting lives! ♥️♥️♥️
Loved this little chalet so beautiful! 😊
Marc I was smiling with you. How gorgeous is that chalet! It went together so well and it looks amazing. It’s so old but so strong. You all did an amazing job and I love it! Well done guys.
Best episode ever! But then they all are, Congratulations Mark! 🎉🎉🎉
The key was so big and it worked. How absolutely wonderful.
I love that chalet.
It would make a great place for the kids to play.
Marc please go fetch the other chalets too.
MAGNIFICENT I love the way Marc comes up with these wonderful surprises.. Truly amazing 🤩
Marc & Amy, what an amazing video! I enjoyed it so much. What a beautiful structure, and so great that Marc wanted to put it on the chateau grounds to save it from being destroyed. Good team effort from the French carpenters, as well.
I love this! What a marvelous find Marc! 👏👏❤️
Oh my gosh.. Your family… Such admiration…
Wow, amazing, good job folks!
Mark is like a kid with a new toy enjoy Mark it looks amazing now you have one you can make your own

Looks as if was always there 🫶
Such a fun video--and beautiful finished product. Bravo, Marc!
Wow, this chalet is beautiful. Awesome job, guys. This will last longer than any store bought shed, and it looks so much better, like it was always there. The smile on Mark's fast tells it all.❤
Great job! You must be very satisfied!
Marc is right it is cool. It reminded me of when I was a child and had Lincoln logs to play with. I had forgotten about them. Thanks for the memory.
Thank You, Marc.🌻
Your Extraordinary Idea, coming to life,
was a joy to watch.
Love this little two story building ❤
Wow! The chalet is wonderful! It is a marvel, the way it was built with no nails or screws, just beautiful pieces that fit together like a glove. I love it.
Absolutely beautiful video. Well done team
Spectacular woodworking skill went into that little barn house for tools
So nice to have Pepper overseeing everything! Sounds like you need a second chalet for the chickens. Thinking outside the box again, who else would think to use this as a gardening shed.
So amazing. It looks just perfect. (South Africa)
Incredible is the right word! I can't believe it still has the key! What a charming addition to your beautiful property,
I think this is brilliant.
I love hearing about what you have all been creating 😊😊😊😊
How charming! Genius, nicely done.
Love the tiny chalet!
What a perfectly charming, adorable, little cottage this is! How ingenious to build it that way. Thank you for sharing it with us. Now we all want one. 😄 Blessings to you all.

That was fantastic what a treasure
Totally fascinating.
Wow!! This is stunning it's going to look amazing.
The building is "AMAZING" GREAT JOB Builder's!...LOVE from Chicago
That is certainly way cool!
Just beautiful..love how you find such treasures and have the vision to give them a new useful life. They blend seamlessly into the fabric of the chateau ..like they’ve always been there. .settling down for a few hundred more years.
Absolutely incredible...
Hi from Australia...
Yep... nearly as old as this country... so they say!
Thank you for showing us some working history...
Smiles all around says it all..
Impressive...
Btw, hope you find the spiral staircase in the chateau and the elusive ancient cellars!
Looking forward to the next videos...
Blessings to all ❤
Definitely need to get a folly for the chickens. This is amazing!!! That key is the crowning glory of the whole thing. I have a really big love for old skeleton keys. I love it!!

At the beginning I thought that it was a silly idea but by the end was so impressed by the outcome and especially all the thought, enthusiasm and energy that went into this 😊
❣️ very well done ❣️collecting & restoring beautiful historical buildings one day you'll have your own plain-air-museum ❤️
Extraordinary work of art and craftsmanship!
Enjoy!
✨🌞✨
Wow! That is amazing! Well done!
So enjoyable. This brought back fond memories of childhood and playing with lincoln logs.
What a wonderful addition!
What a beautiful little chalet ❤❤❤❤❤
Love it, need more mazots!
What a thing of simple beauty! 💕
Love this Mazot! I enjoy historic architecture so I found this episode very interesting. Thanks for sharing the history and some of the follies from your book! And that key and lock were very cool! Greetings from Oklahoma,USA!
What a wonderful, authentic addition to the grounds of the chateau. Marc always goes above and beyond to preserve and enhance their chateau and surrounding land
This is a beautiful building and so modular, about three hundred years ahead of its time. Congratulations on finding it and then erecting it in your wonderful garden.
That's so incredibly cool and beautiful! The door looks like a little hobbit door. Marc looked like an excited little kid after getting the best gift ever.
Did the cat approve? Lovely to learn more about the Empress Josephine. Love the shed and especially the age.
I love the idea of traveling to some other country while in the garden. Very clever!
