Wayne was never a mumble rapper untill recently. He mumbles now because he wants to appeal to a new audience. But he still spits bars.
Wayne is the inspiration for a lot of mumble rappers but he is not a mumble rapper. Best wayne is clever but his pen game is far from em's as em is bar heavy multy syllabic rhyme wordplay story telling capacities are just unmatched. If someone knows another rapper who mixes all those aspects please let me know

Wayne and Drake did a vs at a concert, but they also battled with collab hooks only and Lil Wayne didn’t use his earlier work. I think there’s video somewhere... His earlier work included, I’m not sure anyone could really touch him outside of Em or Hov. Where I was in school, Hot Boyz were a lot bigger than Slim Shady. But so was 3 6 Mafia, Pastor Troy, Trick Daddy, and almost any other southern rap
