"Just play your part, 3-Stacks; these girls are smart..."
My personal favorite is his verse in "Hollywood Divorce". That alphabet scheme into subversive drug scheme at "D" just to grab people's attention was definitely original. Especially since he cuts off the scheme abruptly and even says "Now that I've got your undivided attention, I'm gonna say this and run: Under Condition 1:..." and proceeds to recite the clauses in a pre-nup agreement he wants Hollywood to sign. The creativity is just off the charts with that man.

But hey real hiphop been dead think that's why andre don't even care to do music anymore , on his biggest pop song which was over 10 years ago he said "y'all don't want to here me, ya just want to dance" now all they doing is mumbling and singing

    • @TitoMcFadden
      @TitoMcFadden 3 года назад +2

Agreed. A couple of his solo albums have been dope (Sir Lucious Leftfoot will always have a special place in my memories). Big Boi can produce catchy radio singles and also rap his ass off with an unorthodox AF cadence that accentuates mostly off-beats. He's got bars too. If he wasn't in a group with Andre 3000, there would be no question about Big Boi's talents and status as an elite level MC. However, he will ALWAYS be compared to 3-Stacks. Just like when they were rivals battling each other as kids. Which sucks for him because he can rap circles around 90% of living rappers. Maybe more.

I think Jada put it best when talking about the GOAT conversation. He said it isn't ever about crowning an actual Greatest, it's simply about being at that table in that discussion. So like you said, it's simply about getting to a point in your career where no one can point to another rapper and say that this person is clearly and inarguably more talented than you are. It's perfectly reasonable to say that you don't think Eminem is the GOAT because you like 3stacks or Rakim or whatever more. What isn't reasonable is saying that Em isn't worthy of being in that discussion.

@@kushtrimzogaj2827 to be clear, I'm not referencing Stevie or anyone specifically. It's for any naysayers like Snoop. It's perfectly fine for Snoop to say that Eminem is not his GOAT. No problem with that at all. What isn't reasonable is to look at anyone that says that Em is the GOAT as if they are out of their mind. Em has earned that.
I treat basketball the same way. You can say MJ is the GOAT. You can say Lebron is the GOAT. We don't have to agree. They both have earned a seat at that table though. It's not like someone saying is out here saying Paul Wall and Gilbert Arenas are the Greatest of all time. You could look at someone crazy for that.

There are definitely levels to this. Rap is drug down by rappers that flood the lowest common denomination of the craft. Like country music hits have to mention a truck, beer and a dog or freedom, these formulaic rappers hit all of the essentials in their songs, club, gun and money. Andre is sentient, autonomous, intellectual... he's a thinker and pondering soul. Never accepted because he defies classification and pigeon holds.

Only got Black Thought above 3stacks on my list. Andre may not rap as much as we’d like anymore, but whenever he does a feature... whoo boy. This one is really a testament to that.

To give more context he's talking to his son seven that he had with Eryka Badu. This is one of my favorite verses from 3000 if not my favorite. Men with kids and it didn't work out with their wife or kids mom will be hit by the honest in this song because we've felt it. The line where he says it's a quarry dug deep into a father's chest when he breaks up his family hits home because as a man you internalize it as a failure and you take the blame.

I honestly feel bad for TI on this one, because he had 2 verses of straight fire that get drowned out by Andre. Like if Andre hadn’t featured we’d be talking about how great TI was on the track lol. Andre so good he does that to people

Been waiting for some 3 stacks. He's top of my list but thats just my preference. Just on outkast and features i don't think anyone else touches him. Hope you do more of these bro. Heres a few requests. Im sure you know them well .
    Anderson paak come home
    Chris brown deuces remix
    Jeezy i do
    Drake the real her
Lloyd i want you remix .
He shits on everyone on these tracks including Jay and wayne. I think nas is the only one on par

Great breakdown... 3000 is my all time favorite... one lil thing I picked up on or thought about. When he says "why we try so hard to be stars just to dodge comets"... comets sounds like comments with all the keyboard warriors... also what are they doing "throwing stones" comets/rocks

Yeah Andre3000 is excellent. You can tell by his raps, and also by his interviews, that he's an intelligent guy, and that intelligence pulls you in.
You said it well Stevie, Andre talks on deep topics...in a young way. That's what it feels like to me too when I hear his raps. He reflects on life and uses everyday scenarios to put his points across, which makes it very relatable. The pictures he paints for you are very detailed which is due to his way with words (again, an intelligent guy who can put words together beautifully).
