Humpback Whales feeding! Drone shots of Bubble-net feeding, Surface Skimming, and underwater audio.

Hello! Capt Josh here; This video talks about and shows Humpback Whale Surface Skimming techniques for Krill, and Bubblenet Feeding for Herring, with underwater audio and shots of the prey items included!
These animals are absolutely incredible; the way that Humpbacks can find their food and navigate in the vast ocean is mindblowing. I'm a fishing captain and scuba diver too after all, it's not as easy to find schools of fish as you might think! Some of these videos of the group bubblenet feeding were incredibly hard to take; it's a huge ocean, the whales are down for several minutes and can travel more than a mile, and there's only a few seconds of bubbles indicating the net before they all pop up! Other shots like the ones we took of the krill, herring, and underwater audio, we actually used a Gopro secured to an extendable rod, either right off the boat or the dock!
Don't forget, all the whale shots were taken while we were actually on a tour! There were passengers who got to see these activities happening right in front of them! Being able to show people some of the most amazing animals on earth doing what they do in their natural habitat, is one of the very best parts of this job.
