Um the Tesla Model Y was the top selling car model in China for 2023. It even beat out ALL gasoline car models in China. Didn't you read that? The Tesla Model Y made huge world headlines as it was also the top selling car in the WORLD beating out the Toyota Corolla which had been the top seller for decades!!! Elon Musk achieved the impossible and will have a permanent spot in World/Chinese automotive history books.
China EV is awesome, I live in America, and wish I can buy one, but probably not gonna able to for a long time, because govt is in the pocket of big US Auto. 😢
You live in America. I believe it is USA. I always thought and heard USA is a democratic country with all the freedom. Then why you don't have the freedom to choose the car you like to buy? Is this freedom?
In the 30-year period, China's automotive industry was very backward. The Chinese government allowed global car companies such as Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Toyota, Ford, General Motors, Chevrolet, and others to invest and sell in China. In 2019, the Chinese government even provided funds to allow Tesla to hold 100% of the shares and invest in production and sales in China. However, while China's new energy vehicles were leading the way, some governments in Europe and the United States prohibited Chinese car companies from investing in Europe and America, and used high tariffs to restrict the export and sales of Chinese cars. The so-called global trade liberalization by European and American politicians is just an excuse for them to export high profit goods to underdeveloped countries. China has both good and bad aspects, but if you understand that China only relies on Western politicians and media scammers such as BBC and CNN. I can only feel regret for you.
No company would want to build a factory and make their products in the United States, unless it is given a large sum of subsidy or incentive by the US Gov. Manufacturing in the US is simply not profitable.
I have had a passion for cars since I was a child and currently my daily driver in Sydney is a Chinese ICE car (MG HS) that I have owned now for almost 5years never had an issue done 165,000Kms on it (also have a Mercedes E53 AMG and a HSV GM Australian made collectable which I rarely drive). My next daily driver will most likely be a BYD EV which is available now but on the other hand more Chinese car makers enter the market I may reconsider. BYD has been selling cars in Australia for over 2 years now and sold a lot 0 fires yet every day at lease 1 ICE Toyota or Japanese or western branded car catches on fire but there is 0 news coverage of it. NIO will be a game changer in the Australian market with the battery swap system as a lot of people in Australia that live in Terrace houses (no off-street parking) units/apartments have no way to charge at home and public chargers being expensive to use. The battery swap system where the owners lease it with free swaps included per month will dispel the whole myth that the battery will need an expensive changing in a few years.
Australians are really lucky. There is no trade protectionism and high tariffs here, and people can enjoy the best electric cars at the fastest time and the lowest price. The people of the United States and Europe can only express sadness.
Excellent choice on NIO. The best of the best, safest , luxury and beautiful. Swappable , upgradable , and opportunity to participate in future battery technology because of battery swap. Only EV car i would buy. I wish they were here in USA but the US is not interested in giving their citizens the best. Enjoy your next EV car.
That’s a sweet car. Here we are stuck with old tech Tesla and few charging options..awesome EV reviews ..love the NIO ..thanks and congrats on your upcoming baby..cheers from LA
As a complete vehicle solution provider, Huawei is the only one that has proposed active and passive safety, so I recommend test driving the AITO M5/M7/M9, because AITO's after-sales service is also very thoughtful. Huawei and AITO have reshaped the safety and service of the automotive industry.
Wow! Thank you for "bringing" us for a test drive. The Americans and Europeans must be admiring for such cars, but they can only watch, unless they are prepared to pay the high tariffs.
Great content. It's hard to believe how far advanced Chinese EVs are and the European Commission is well afraid that it will bring their own brands to collapse. They first accused that the Chinese EVs to be too heavily subsidised then found our they were in fact less subsidised than their own EVs then they now try to blame an over supply by China to bring down European EVs!!
Congratulations on the baby! I'd choose a BYD because they are a larger company and will be around when you may need to use the warranty. Nio and Li Auto might not.
The green license plates come with both EVs and some hybrid vehicles. I think BYD is also exporting its hybrid version lately for countries with fewer charging stations.
I keep seeing others talking bad about 🇨🇳 ev cars. How cheap material is made and explosion in cars. Although it may be true but seeing their battery is built different..so no more crashing and catch on fire.
I really hope the title is true. If China’s EVs were crushing America, as the title claims, I would have already bought one, say, BYD 秦L DM-i, in US. But you can almost see no China EVs in US. Full of US' streets are ugly oil cars with noise as loud as a tractor. And this country is desperate in criticizing China about its air pollution.
She is absolutely right. China EV's are so far ahead that US is far behind in technology and infrastructure and the West is worried. Instead of competing, they want to slow down China and their EV's so they have slapped hefty tarrifs. I live in the USA and I'm very up to date on EV technology and cars. I will buy a NIO today if they are allowed in the US. Competition among Chinese companies are very fierce and that's how innovation are accelerating there. Also China helps with the infrastructure unlike in the US it is very poor and the consumers are shying away from it.
My favorite EV would be be the NIO ET5t Touring Station Wagon. I’ve been to the Beijing NIO House a few dozen times since October 2017. It’s the first NIO House in China. It’s the Flagship NIO House. I think you guys will select the LiAuto EV Mega, because it’s priced less than NIO which is a premium brand and the Huawei firmware Avtar 12. I was hoping to buy NIO in USA, but Biden imposed a 100% tariff on Chinese imports because USA can’t compete with any Chinese EV. So USA consumers won’t be buying EVs from China, nor will they be buying terrible and expensive EVs made in USA. EVs from Europe are very expensive, BMW, Mercedes, etc. and they are still far behind NIO 威廉 and BYD 比亚迪 BYD.
What are the life cycle carbon footprints of electric, hybrid and internal combustion engine cars? Copilot: The life cycle carbon footprints of electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine (ICE) cars vary significantly due to differences in production, use, and disposal phases. Here’s a breakdown: Electric Vehicles (EVs) Production: EVs have higher production emissions due to battery manufacturing, which involves extracting and refining raw materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. This results in approximately 14 tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) for production. Use Phase: EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions. However, emissions from electricity production can vary. Use Phase: Hybrids have lower tailpipe emissions compared to ICE vehicles, averaging 24 tCO2e. (Note: Fuel Production = 12 tCO2e, Maintenance = 2 tCO2e) End-of-Life: Slight reduction of about 1 tCO2e due to recycling. Total: Approximately 47 tCO2e over the vehicle’s lifetime. Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Vehicles Production: Emissions are around 10 tCO2e. Use Phase: ICE vehicles have the highest tailpipe emissions, averaging 32 tCO2e. (Note: Fuel Production = 13 tCO2e, Maintenance = 2 tCO2e) End-of-Life: Slight reduction of about 1 tCO2e due to recycling. Total: Approximately 55 tCO2e over the vehicle’s lifetime. Do you have a better response than Copilot? 🤔
I do love to get a Ford Mustang GT with the lovely sounding Cayote V8 engine. Maybe not an everyday commute vehicle to work but on the weekends fun. Before the V8 goes extinct:)
Chinese EV manufacturers won't only survive unjust US dan EU tariff. It will annihilate legacy American dan European (and even Japanese) brands.
