Would you know how homes were headed in the mid-late 1870s? I am deep in research for a book about the 1870s. I read that "coal" was a household commodity, even reading that a prostitute traded her services for "3 buckets of coal." They made reference to a "coal bin" in the house, as where they store it before using. thanks. Ouuu.. I see "coal room" on your timecodes.

OK, the coal room puts me on to something. Did the coal go in a furnace or something? How did the heat get distributed through the house, or was it just through one pipe?
