    I've run an SC15 for four years now. Great machine. Good to see they've made some improvements, like the work platform. Few pointers, the chains can come flying off the bar, and it is best to operate with the guards closed. Also, the chain on the conveyor is designed to hold the weight of the conveyor during operation.

    The thing that amazes me about processors is how many cuts they make before getting dull and I suspect it’s because they’re always only cutting wood when we’re cutting in the woods we probably don’t realize how often our chain hits the ground a little bit here and there

    Burning wood for heat is still the best heat one can get. When it is winter and 30 below with 5 feet of snow and no power all you really have to keep you alive is wood heat you can stay warm cook on it and make hot coffee and melt snow to take a bath.

    Good morning from Western North Carolina I am located East of the hardest hit area. Been without power for 5 days I'm ok my home did not get damaged and I have a generator, food and water I am Blessed. If you can donate to relief organizations, please do so. It is hard describe how widespread and extent of damage to WNC and East Tenn. Asheville NC, is getting most of the press but there are dozens of small towns that are destroyed. Many areas are without cell phone service, power, water and roads and bridges washed out. Supplies are being air lifted in by volunteers in many cases. Without power and roads damaged there is a shortage of gas also. Pray for the people effected and relief works, 1st responders especially local responder that may have lost their home and have been going at for almost a week now, the lineman working to restore power, National Guard, Law enforcement and thousands of other that helping in this rescue and recovery effort. Please pray for us.

      I would recommend checking out Ohio Wood Burner, Joe has the Japa 465 Pro with the Perfect split system. As Chris said, lots of slash and trash due to the splitter head knives but you get to set the piece sizes, EastonMade also has the box wedges, same issue and not on a processor though. Japa has the patent on that. 👍🏻

    Those were some huge rounds in the beginning. Every time you guys show some nice ash, it breaks my heart. Ohio's is gone. There are still some standing, but they are all pith and not worth cutting. They might work in a boiler but when you put it in a splitter with a 4 way it just crumbles. I see you are starting to get a little of that. We have no solid ash left.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  Месяц назад

      Yul, a lot of the ash we all get is tree service stuff (dead trees) so yup, some of it it is starting to get punky.

    Man, I am not a fan of that 4way wedge on the Eastonmade ... It seems like it creates so much waste, while still requiring another split afterwards for at least 2 pieces. Call me crazy, but I'd much rather use the single wedge. Or maybe it's just my OCD talking 😆
