Your parents know more about England than me and i live here but its always the way when you go on HOLIDAY/VACATION abroad you learn more about that country than your own..
lovely video, nortmally I don't appreciate quick American day trip videos of England..but you have a fun combination of humor and desire for deeper meaning and exploration that I found charming
A quick tip for anyone wanting to visit Oxford, to the south of the city is a great park and ride car park called Fastned Redbridge Park & Ride, it cost me about £6 for the day and I had my brother with me and we both got on the park and ride bus for free and a roughly a few stops later were right in the middle of the city, its a small fortune to park actually in the city. Also you just wait for the same bus back.
You could have got into Christ Church for free simply by attending Choral Evensong in the College Chapel (which doubles up as Oxford's Anglican Cathedral) at 18:00 hours (Oxford Local Time) or 18:05 hours (British Standard Time) if you are happy to listen to a world-class choir performing for fifty minutes. New College and Magdalen College are also Choral Foundations and, because their Chapels are managed by the Church of England, those of any faith (or none) are welcome to attend any of the services.
How fun! We parked outside in a paid hourly lot right next to Blackwell's Art and Poster Shop which we felt was really central to everything. We didn't do a ton of research though, so there may be cheaper options if you hunt around a bit. Enjoy!
Strongly recommend you take advantage of the Park & Rides just outside Oxford, which provide frequent buses into the centre. I find the most convenient ones to be at Water Eaton and Pear Tree, but there are a couple of others. For £5 you get parking and the return bus fare for two people. Extra adults just pay the bus fare.
Did you guys go on a guided tour inside the Christ Church? Whichever case, how long did you have to film yourselves inside? And in the Bodleian Library, are you allowed to film and are you given enough time to roam inside?
Hope you bought petrol from a supermarket - cheaper and we buy there to get the supermarket points and the discounts. Petrol on the motorways is very expensive - captured market.
Well, unlike French, nobody governs the English language. The word 'quaint' will die out when people stop using it, so you can help in that regard, if you wish.
Stunning place!!!! my mouth was wide open the whole video. Great guys
I laughed so hard at your “not so funny now” comment 😂
Loved meeting your parents in this episode. And so many amazing places!
Mom's my favourite. Smart, likes history, and nice smile.

What a ride! This one had us all laughing 😂😂😂 so good can’t wait for next week!
Woohoo! Thanks for the encouragement! The parents are a hoot!
I am intrigued that so many YT vlogging US visitors to the UK, constantly refer to the Harry Potter films.
And the “in this episode” and “next time” are great additions - now I can’t wait until the next one!
Hahaha, they’re a goofy bunch! Thanks for the feedback! We’re still messing around with stuff.
Thanks and hope you get to be a student there
Beautiful editing and composition. Definitely a league above the rest.
Thank you John! That really means a lot to us!
I am surprised you did not visit Blenheim palace beautiful
Great video! We love Meemaw and Peepaw - they should have their own RUclips channel!
Agreed!

It's closed permanently.
Mum with the photos. Adoorable.

These sites have historical value and beauty even if not associated with Harry Potter.
They seriously do Lindy! Scratched the service of this place! excited to return one day.
Looks like you went up A34 from the cotwolds....longer trip than , why not A40?
Nice video! I will be visiting in November. Will be driving from London. Just wondering where did you guys park your car in Oxford?

your parents are so nice
I visited it in April and liked it a lot.
Enjoy your videos, v good!!
Thanks Paul! Means a lot!
I’ve visited Oxford 4 times in the past 7 years and the best food is in the basement of st Mary’s church ( the church you can climb up inside )
This has become one of my favorite travel vlogs
Really means a lot Chris! We both really appreciate you showing up every week!

I always thought Americans went to Oxford because of Inspector Morse. You live and learn!
And Harry potter
The Randolph - very nice. Very good food. Don’t stay there if all you can afford is the cheapest shared room - it looks out over a brick wall.
What month of the year was your trip? ?Incredible there is no so much people!
So many people! We were there at the beginning of August.
@@HSLRny advices at what hour to go , or if you can walk in new college?
Your Dad will have to go to Italy to taste a traditional Chicken Caesar Saled, it was invented there in the 1870's
He'll probably tell them they're doing it wrong.
It’s definitely not a Caesar salad. I’d have sent it back
Wrong! It was invented in Mexico in the 1920’s by an Italian chef
That's not a caesar salad, I think they gave you a wrong order. In the UK that looks a lot like a Middle Eastern chickpea salad
Technically it is the Hertford Bridge, just colloquially called the Bridge of Sighs.
hope it wont be too busy ,its a saturday...........oh dear god
Oxford is one of the few places not bombed by the Germans in WW2. Hence it retains its old buildings and why London is full of skyscrapers.
liverpool was bombed no scrapers there so you make a wrong comment

Cheers. Nice tour and video, but perhaps cool it a bit on the 'duh' humour.
What is this fixation with a children’s story character called harry. It trivialises the wonder that is Oxford
Super
Your parents are so cute
That’s not Caesar salad!
Forget Hogerts. Please!!!!
Oxfords a city not a town, it has a cathedral..
That isn't true ...a City doesn't have to have a cathedral
City, oxford is a City
Christchurch...just Christchurch, no such thing as Christchurch college
The word "Quaint" needs to be removed from the English language.
Is that a Shakespeare word?
Nope, it doesn't.
Well, unlike French, nobody governs the English language. The word 'quaint' will die out when people stop using it, so you can help in that regard, if you wish.
@@HSLR it's like scratching fingernails down a blackboard! Can't explain what it is but there's something about "quaint" that us English don't like.
@@HSLR It's not a positive word in British English. But it is quite unrelated to "queynte", used by Chaucer to mean something very different.
