I traded my Goldtop for a Custom Shop Strat and had a Duesenberg trem on the Goldtop, it worked well but I forgot about it and thought that I had included it in the sale. More recently I've bought a 2016 SG Standard and immediately thought of the trem which I'd thought was in the case with the Goldtop and wished that I hadn't let it go. Today I was searching through all my bits of hardware and BINGO ! there was the trem in a box hidden away. The question 'does IT stay in tune?' is wrong. It's never the trem's fault. The problem is always in the nut. You need 100% resistance (lock) or ZERO resistance. I put the Les (Paul) Trem II on my Ibanez AR30, because it works like a Quik Change tailpiece, so that I can use the same strings. It stays in tune surprisingly well. It's a subtle vibrato unit. Perhaps a stronger spring in the trem would help pull it back out of the nut? Can you manually pull up on the arm and get it to return to tune?
Hi Alan. Yes...the wrapping around the tuning post can loosen up a tad and pulling back can tighten (depending on the whammy bar type). Going exactly back into tune is another thing.
