And in this case an intimate relationship because you had sex several times. It may not be romantic, domestic, or monogamous, but it’s a relationship. You are a victim of intimate partner violence. And we are using these terms to determine what services we can assist you with.” If someone is intimate with you (in anyway- emotional,physical, sexual, etc.) and insist that it isn’t a relationship, ask for specific clarification of what they mean by that and INSIST upon a label to set boundaries. If you are just friends- clarify what you BOTH think that means and establish perimeters for that relationship. Someone refusing to could be avoidant, insecure, emotionally unavailable, or too vulnerable- and in that case shouldn’t be pursuing an intimate partnership anyway. OR they could be manipulating or gaslighting you. Limerence and unhealthy situationships are not something we have to “just deal with.” They are things we enable by not confronting toxicity, not communicating, and not setting boundaries. We are more open as a society- consensual open and poly relationships are accessible. There’s no reason to not be honest with everyone and seek consent. “Non-labels” are a way to be intimate with someone without the responsibility of true consent. I.e.- I’m not obligated to tell you if I’m intimate with others because we are not “in a relationship.” We are seeing a decline in marriage, romantic domestic relationships, and even child birth because the dating landscape is SO toxic right now. If we are going to heal we need to call out this behavior. It’s done so much damage.

A lot of crying in apology (or in this case anti-apology) videos is less remorse and more that they’re only sad because they got caught, and that’s if the crying is even real in the first place, most of the time it’s not real.
Side note but, I've been through quite a few traumatic situations. Whenever I talk about it I'm super blunt and sarcastic but that makes me terrified no one will believe me. The only time I break down and sob about it is with my therapist about the details. But being validated about how she talked about her situation makes me feel a little better. My trauma never comes up in common talking but when a friend and I talk about personal things I always feel like my tone is wrong for what we're talking about.
When I was diagnosed with C-PTSD, some things my clinical team put into perspective for me was the whole coping with humor thing. It’s a way for someone to talk about a traumatic event (or events) without getting to serious to the perspective of others and being able to switch the topic quickly in order to protect ourselves. I 100% cope with humor and talk about it sarcastically much more than I genuinely vent or talk about it. As someone who has had QPRs that were loving & fulfilling & wonderful, and as someone who has unfortunately had to see Selah’s tiktoks, this was not a QPR. They might be leaving those details out bc clarifying could be seen as “explicit,” but this couple in particular has been in an on & off explicitly romantic, amatonormative relationship, which was broken off by one party bc he didn’t want to be tied down or smth- iirc the guy in that couple never posts the sappy stuff abt his partner like she does either, and this has been happening for years! QPRs are so misunderstood and so wonderful, and we have to be careful not to try to attribute clearly unreciprocated feelings & a failure to maintain healthy relationship boundaries as a QPR. QPRs are so much more than a relationship where someone doesn’t want to commit to you but wants all the benefits of your partnership & attention.

commenting before having watched the whole thing, and i'm pretty new to your channel so i don't know too much about your views in general, but up until about 2:30 i'm very disappointed by your way of forcing a label onto people that explicitely don't want it. amatonormativity is a thing and your behavior plays right into it. i don't know the people you're talking about, but the way it's described here makes it feel like it could be QPR, so you saying "just call yourself a couple already" is quite unpleasant. hopefully i've passed my thought in a way that doesn't seem too angry
As someone who has had QPRs that were loving & fulfilling & wonderful, and as someone who has unfortunately had to see Selah’s tiktoks, this was not a QPR. They might be leaving those details out bc clarifying could be seen as “explicit,” but this couple in particular has been in an on & off explicitly romantic, amatonormative relationship, which was broken off by one party bc he didn’t want to be tied down or smth- iirc the guy in that couple never posts the sappy stuff abt his partner like she does either, and this has been happening for years! QPRs are so misunderstood and so wonderful, and we have to be careful not to try to attribute clearly unreciprocated feelings & a failure to maintain healthy relationship boundaries as a QPR. QPRs are so much more than a relationship where someone doesn’t want to commit to you but wants all the benefits of your partnership & attention.
