hey peric just a tip for trout fishing, cast upcurrent and and reel with the curent. The trout position themselves into the current to catch anything flowing with the current like bugs.
I would argue that logic should be used for most if not all fish in a current.
yeah it should be definitely right on that one my man, i fish alot of rivers and fly fish alot so im used t doing that on alot of bodies of water.
not with spinners, you cast them downstream against the current in order to let the blade spin and it catches their attention as it passes them
i use spinners too my dude, and not once ever had i heard that was the proper and most effective way of fishing them.
Lucien N true I was gonna say the same thing I have trout fished for about 10 years and always work up stream
Had to re upload the video! Hope you guys enjoy! And we are finally about to do some fishing!
AP
apbassing keep it up brother
apbassing saw the first one. Didnt load. Good job with the recent vids
will you ever go fishing in gorgia
cud you fish with me
I am 8 years old
cast your spinners up stream and pull them down!!! trout sit forward in the current waiting for food to go downstream then turn around and take it!! pulling a spinner upstream might get you lucky evey once in a while or places you cant reach from behind but i cant imagine how many trout you guys missed!
Hahahaha thank you!!!! It was driving me crazy!
That map really kicked your ass lol!
I was looking for this. Thank you.
peric looks like phineas from phineas and ferb
Jon B. is Ferb, but who's perry the platypus??
Luke Braun rob
Flair is Dr. Doofinsmirts
Flair is more like the older teenage sister.
Peric is Phineas and Dr. doofinsmirts they both have big noses
I like how you turned up the music while you were talking on the river.
John Henderson fr
Yea it was probably an editing mistake but otherwise these videos have been edited well
BlakeBv what do you mean? I liked it. If he could do a video where the music would fade in when he talks I think it would be funny.
John Henderson surprised they can even get videos edited and uploaded much less for them to be error free..
It was annoying, could barely hear them, and turning the volume up only made it worse.
Peric & Spencer are killin' it, while the rest of the Googan crew is no where's exciting to be found. Way to go guys
Who else thought ap was gonna get swept away in that river !!😂😂
Gavin Drye does it say that in the title lmao
P. Gibbons 😂
The amount of work you do on these videos with the drone shots and what not is incredible.
You need to go to Cordova and fish sheep bay because if you go all the way down there is a stream at the end and there are a lot of salmon there you have to go in high tide though because at low tide your motor touches the ground
loving the travel videos. cant wait till youre on the fish
Alex, You and the crew truly show what the american dream is. I can only imagine waking up one day and getting in my jeep and driving 1000 miles to Alaska and cracking a cold one with a grizzly bear.
In my opinion, Spencer and AP are the perfect combo. Keep it up.
Peric tried to fold that map 189 ways
I still don't think he figured it out
I love how yall just let the HATE CRAP just roll off! That's the right attitude!
Great Videos & I really Appreciate y'all Hard Work & your True Friendship!
honestly just hire this guy full time ap, besides the never stop tour i dont remember the last time i watched the entirety of your videos till now
Hey Peric, you guys should do try to stop by Talkeetna Alaska and go on a guided trip with a guy named Fred Nugent. I went there last summer and it was the best experience I have ever had. Fred found a large School of Salomon trapped in a giant section of water and it was cast after cast action. The spot was surrounded by mountains (great drone opportunities). He also took us gold panning and walked away with a small gold nugget. When we got to the spot, there were spawning 4 ft+ spawning Salomon and fat ass brown and rainbow trout eating the eggs, it would be a lot better fishing than those creeks you have been fishing that you guys Have been stopping at. Also, the city is packed with great restaurants, an awesome hotel, and other guides (one will take you out for flounder and other ocean fish) and locals for finding spots if you need them. Thanks, and Never Stop
Lol he struggled with folding that map away 😂 peric cracks me up.
Peric I think this trip is pretty cool even if you haven't caught fish yet. It's a adventure. I just hope you guys actually do catch some fish after all this. All this is memories that you will never forget.
Peric trying to fold that map is the greatest metaphor for his fishing.
tip for cell coverage next time, the big west coast and Alaskan cell carriers are cdma service. Yes, you can get gsm coverage but they are very spotty. For americans that means you'll get suckie service if you're with ATT, Tmobile, etc. You need to pick up a cdma plan next time which means Verizon, sprint, virgin. In bigger the developed areas or in the city, they'll both work fine
In the middle of nowhere and way down the long highways between towns, you'll get nothing with either, but where signals are weak, Verizon will likely work where ATT might have nothing for another 50-100 miles. A cdma phone can also get on a GSM 3G network where the opposite is not true. Also, out on the water or way out on charters, a cdma phone (verizon/sprint) works in many places because they've put towers out on remote islands to cover fishermen. ATT goes dead once you're 3-5 miles out of port.
All bullshit aside I really like this editing a lot. It's like the never stop tour all over
great adventure guys....thanks for taking us along....
DUDE YOU GUYS ARE STRAIGHT BOSSES FOR DOING A JOURNEY LIKE THIS. YOU ARE LITERALLY SHITTING ON EVERYONE WHO HAS A FISHING CHANNEL WITH TRIPS LIKE THIS! KEEP UP THE UNIQUE AND AWESOME JOURNEYS PERIC, I GOT MAD RESPECT FOR YOU. YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE ALASKA, IT WILL SPOIL YOU...
What a epic trip I'm sure you won't forget this one for a long time
Peric one thing about trout is that they love natural drift. I have done my share of trout fishing, and I would suggest casting up the stream and rolling it down the current. It seems to work the best for me.
Better than the never stop tour, Keep it up
This is awesome i love everything about this. Hopefully am able to do this when i'm older !
I love seeing a father and son go out and fish together ;)
screw the haters. thesee vlogs aree awesome bro.. i have followed your videos for my entire deployment here in Iraq and Kuwait. its so awesome. you all have so much fun and are so fortunate, you never waste a minute and always so humble. keep it bro. Hope to fish with you all when i get back to the USA next week
Hey AP, these Alaska adventures vlogs have been awesome!! I'd love to host you and Spenser up here in Cape Cod anytime.....go after some giant bluefin tuna, striped bass, etc.....and have a couple private ponds for largemouth. Props to Ethan for the sick edits as well.
Peric- i can't wait each day for a video to drop. You have the most crazy footage in the world, and i mean that in a good way.
I really enjoy this little series you should make your episodes longer
I was in Canada about a month ago in Gananoque, Ontario caught a lot of great northern pike on buck tail jigs and small mouths on spinners
Crazy how chill subs are with meeting the Tubers to fish, I would flip if I was in the same county as Peric or Flair or Terks or Barza
Use a 3" pink wacky rigged senko and cast it up stream and let it flow down and give it a couple jerks and it works really well.
Try fishing either willow creek for kings the color of them are getting a little red but u could still catch them, try using big vibraxes, if u want socketed go to the falls of the Russian river it's like a 1hr hike. Lots of fish there, if u want trout try putting a bead on, indicates salmon eggs dropping
Editing is amazing! Hope this is now what it will always be like from now one.
I just got back from Alaska!! I did a week long land tour then went on a week long cruise! Y'all should definitely check out Talkeetna, Alaska. I ate at a restraunt there and had the BEST King Crab Legs I've ever had!!
Saying "And I know we are gonna be able to figure it out" while you are struggling to fold a map back together
spencer is one of the funniest characters on youtube!
i really wasn't a peric fan until recently.. great videos. keep getting it
me and some bodies worked in whitehorse for the summer and basically fished all of these exact spots!! pretty surreal! sweet vid! take me with you next time!
My new favorite fishing duo!!!! Keep them coming Peric. Good editing is it the same dude that did the NEVER STOP tour?
So funny watching you struggle folding that map 😂
when you are fishing the smaller rivers and creeks try a smaller spinner. I found the the 1/16 size works best for the smaller rivers.
U CANT CALL THEM ALASKA VLOGS WHEN U ARE IN CANADA!!!
the nimble true, but they can if they're heading their
Peric said the drive was one of the hardest things he's ever done, looks like folding that map up was harder for him!!😂😂😂
I've driven to Alaska from indiana and it's definitely an experience of a lifetime.
Also have a first cousin, who's first cousin is an Attorney in Alaska. My cousin went up there and fished with him and caught a ton of fish. Think he has an air boat for going up the rivers in skinny waters.
Glad we saw y'all filming! Welcome to Ak! (I can't believe we saw y'all filming this 😂)
Peric if you edited these videos good for you man I love the slow motion 4K stuff and the beats are just perfect for the video and this is just so inspiring like I want to drive up north and go fishing in the middle of nowhere like you because you have to go out of your comfort zone and do amazing things sometimes and this Alaska trip looks like it would be just a dream
I hope you get on some nice fish AP!
ap and Spencer,
the lake you fished for lake trout might have produced better if you fished the thermocline. I don't know if it has been warm enough there for the lake to strasify but if you turn the gain up on your sonar you will be able to see the thermocline.
You guys should try using worms with 3 split shot weights slowing dragging it off the bottom. I promise you, you would catch way more than using spinners.
Get something more than spinners to put in your tackle box. I haven't been skunked in over 3 months, and that's only because I'm willing to adapt, because I've spent hours researching, and because of the tips I've gotten from Leo Sheng of Extreme Philly Fishing.
you guys should do more videos in the future really enjoy them
These drone shots are breathtaking
the film and edit guy did a great job. very well done.
Loving the trip videos, looking forward to your Alaska adventures.
Y'all should go fish the sipsey river , the runoff of Lewis smith lake in Alabama. Literally you can't stop catching trout on some pink/yellow power bait
enjoying the adventure Peric, good luck in Alaska. tip, cast up stream for trout, harder to do with spinners, but it makes a difference in the presentation.
ive fished that waterfall, caught a ton of grayling and almost landed a big dolly but broke off right before i could land it.
try casting up current and let the spinner sweep down once the spinner turns and catches the current is when you get the most hits
Drinking age differs from province to province, where your at (Yukon) its 19 same as British Columbia. Did Liard hot springs give you guys a headache from the sulphur smell? Also heads up the hot springs is a hot bed for Black Bears on your way back. Next time stop in Dawson Creek and visit the Mile Zero park its right beside Corlanes. There is TONS of great honey holes along the way in Northern BC, BTW Muncho Lake this time of the year stanks for Lakers gotta get DEEP 150-250 ft.
Love how many times Peric tried to fold the map
11:00 uh can I get lllleeeemon aid? Pink lemon aid ok? Yeah that's fine. 😂😂😂
Man I would love to make a trip to Alaska.
Cast your spinner up stream slightly for salmon steelhead and Trout and almost drift it down river then retrieve in the swing
you have to go with the flow of the river when fishing with a current, especially when your using spiners.
I know its not your type of fishing but you should try a hook, splitshot, and nightcrawler in those smaller Canadian Creeks
I used to live in Soldotna, Alaska
love the vids with spence. forget what other people say I love it!
Drone shots were killer. Keep it up.
AP, you should take a trip to Louisiana and fish at Toledo bend. There u can catch some trophy fish
love the travel videos cant wait for the real fishing
Cast upstream with the spinners, trout typically eat what the current brings to them.
Spencer could be peric dad😂
If ya'll make it down to Homer AK I'll hook you up on my boat for halibut, salmon, and Rockfish!
Watching Peric fold that map was killing me hahaha
nice job fellas! I didn't realize you started off in Minnesota. That's a long ass drive! I can't wait to see you guys lay into some big trout. it would be cool if you wereable to fish for halibut and kingcrab. super trifecta!
Omg, watching Peric try and fold a map. Lol
Daily uploads are awesome keep up the great work! The edits are sick!
cast upstream so the bait flows with the current. That's where trout position themselves.
Good luck! And keep the lines tight!
Peric with the pink lemonade. 😂
This blows Jon's trash fish adventures, out of the water!
Peric during feb to June there's some really good trout fishing here in Southern California at lake Gregory. It has a small fee but if only you catch and cook but it's so amazing and the best stuff to use is chartreuse powerbait. Very fun should come up next year it's a blast and you're bound to catch a fish I promise you!
Edit: those were the times I had went and I had caught many fish and had caught my limit many times. The bite for trout there never stop.
Dude AP we should fish sometime while you are up here man, I live in AK and have a place for like every species around here, got a place for you to stay too! oh and I make Alaska fishing vids
AK Vlogs dude ap this guy is legit
Yeah man AP You should
Man you had a hell of a time trying to fold that map up😂
Even though most of what you're doing is traveling, the videos still turn out really good
awesome vid hope your Alaska time goes good and we see some big ole fish
Hit the Kenai Cache in Copper Landing Ak. It's on the peninsula and they will put you on the sockeye. They are running HUGE right now. Millions.
This is the most epic series...ever
can't wait for the next video. great personalities and great vid.
Be careful up in Alaska boys. just recently 2 people die because of bears. One of the girls was killed by a black bear and the other by a grizzly
You should do a fishing trip in Algonquin park or the Ottawa river
FOLD THE DAM MAP ALREADY! LOL! love it!
Good ol 1rod fist bump at 8:15 😂😂😂
River trout fishing 101
-cast upstream on a 45 degree angle
-reel down stream with current
-casting down stream against the current isn't near as effective as casting up stream
