Eddy there have been many incidents of tainted alcohol in Thailand its happened in the last 12 months in Bangkok. It's extremely unlikely that these people in Laos were given something with industrial methanol in it. It's much more likely that they had counterfeit spirits made by home distilling. If you make your own alcohol you always have to drain off the first part of the brew because it contains methanol. If some backyarder in Laos didn't know this or didn't care then these deaths are the result. Like I said it's happened in Thailand before many times and in Bali. Thats why they always used to tell people to never by those buckets of drinks in Thailand.
Laos is a shithole of a country with zero oversight on food and consumer safety. I've been in SE Asia many many times and I'm **extremely** careful about where I go, where I stay, and what I consume. In 3 or 4 decades of traveling the world, I've never suffered a single foodborne illness.
The trouble is that he's come down ill, it's understandable that he might not be up to exertion just now. This was why Thailand was better off being on the back burner rather than a pressure to recover for.
he does nothing to help himself, sits on his arse and waits for hospital transport. he only has to google *professor ben williams glioblastoma* who didn't sit on his arse and extended his life by 24 years
**MANY** people have suggested that. It falls on deaf ears. Ed is going to do it his way: Lots of bad food, alcohol, and zero exercise. At his age, that approach will only serve to streamline his demise. I wish it were different but that's exactly how Ed wants to go. God bless him
I’ve had stroke and airports on the way out were brilliant but the month here has been hard. When I was well I wanted to live here now it would be very hard taxis everywhere or put on people for lifts.Flying to uk later this week.
Thank you for such an honest post! So many on here are demanding that Ed board a plane now, that a business class ticket should be bought and luxury accommodation should be bought and private nurses should be paid for and a mobility scooter - that's a fantasy! It's not real life and not realistic! He's not Hugh Hefner with chauffeurs and women to look after him and millions in the bank! And he would end up back in a shocking situation if his health turned and put him back in hospital over there with no insurance to pay for it.
It was harder than I said I have a Thai wife so she was the nurse and she said it was very difficult to look after me.with hindsight would I do it again no and on my own definitely no.

You seriously need to take a helper out with you to Thailand. It's totally crazy not to. Pay for their flight and hotel, in return for being around in case of emergencies, to keep an eye out for you, to help with mundane stuff like sorting taxis. It's not just your physical self that is weak. But are you able to see tgat now?
14 May 2024 Updated 14 May 2024 A year after undergoing a world-first treatment for glioblastoma, Australian doctor Richard Scolyer remains cancer-free. Eddie you have dealt with this amazingly showing us your struggles and everyday life you are bound to have good days and bad days this is the first time you have shown everyone your downer day but you will bounce back,i think you are an inspiration to anyone going through a bad time, im sure you will make it to patts all the best mate
Stay positive my brother
Good luck Eddie. You have a lot of guts and I want to wish you all the very best.🍀
Eddy chin up, mate. Your an inspiration to us all!!
Take each day as it comes Ed and try to stay optimistic. Every day you wake up brings new chances. I've a feeling you're going to make it to Pattaya in Jan. my friend.😊
Happened in the Gili Islands Indonesia about 3 years ago that i know of .
Yes , it has happened several times in SEAsia over some years ...I don't believe it is ever malicious or intentional . But a very sad outcome .
Laos is a shithole of a country with zero oversight on food and consumer safety. I've been in SE Asia many many times and I'm **extremely** careful about where I go, where I stay, and what I consume. In 3 or 4 decades of traveling the world, I've never suffered a single foodborne illness.
If your not doing at least 2-3hrs of physio / strength exercises every day, then its not enough mate. Get yourself fighting fit!!
God bless him
Listen to all your messages Eddy..be positive it can work miracles..
It was harder than I said I have a Thai wife so she was the nurse and she said it was very difficult to look after me.with hindsight would I do it again no and on my own definitely no.
stay positive eddy your immune system will be severly compromised ... i broke my ankle in april which is like a broken fingernail compared to your condition and yet i am still compromised in my mobility from what i was ....try and focus on what you can do ... i wish you well and hope you can get to thailand in january
I've just arrived in Devon on hols from Asia.
And my son has that flu too. Can't shift it. I'm treating it with sudafed nose spray and powerful cough medicine.
Hope that works
When you're over the flu, you'll feel a lot better in mind and body.
All the best Eddie - I reckon you will be in the top 5% mate. Having flu knocks the stuffing out of the best of us mate 👍
Also Ed as a precaution and to avoid the government getting your estate get a will drawn up. Don’t forget to include YT as an intellectual property which can produce a permanent income stream even if you pass it on to friends, family or even YT fanbase members - as a legacy
@@simonmarks2860 Are you after money from his channel? Subtle what you did and weird. Give the man a break.
@@simonmarks2860 "estate " lol ,5,5,5
Live every day like it is your last - and that should apply to everyone!! God speed to you Eddie ❤
Stay positive eddy, Do your best
I hope 🤞 you are going to be in that 5% I say everyone is is hoping that same 🙏 our thoughts are with you Ed ❤
I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 6 months ago. Starting to come good now but the pain when the cancer starting boring holes in my spine and femurs was unbearable. I agree with you Eddy the mental game is the hardest as everything is a constant battle day to day to retain a life that is worth living. Chin up let's do this together
Keep going Ed,there's going to be ups and downs. Recovery never goes in a straight line. You'll make it to Thailand.
One day at a time Eddie, keep fighting. 🙏
Sorry to hear of all the doom and gloom Eddy. Just get out as much as you can and get exercise, eat well, drink as little as possible if at all. Build your strength and you never know you can be the 5%.
You actually look very healthy, Steady. Please keep the faith
he has improved measurably
god bless you Eddie, stay positive, stay strong.
Our hearts are all with you ed
Insane year for you, Eddy...sorry about that, it can happen to anyone anytime...keep strong
Absolutely solid advice.

Improvement is rarely linear, hang in and be patient.
I really hope your one of the lucky ones
All the best to you Eddie 1 day at a time m8.your feeling a bit down because of the flu hopefully you're pick up soon 👍 all the best m8

A year after undergoing a world-first treatment for glioblastoma, Australian doctor Richard Scolyer remains cancer-free.
The esteemed pathologist's experimental therapy is based on his own pioneering research on melanoma.
Prof Scolyer's subtype of glioblastoma is so aggressive most patients survive less than a year.
But on Tuesday the 57-year-old announced his latest MRI scan had again showed no recurrence of the tumour.
My heart goes out to you mate, take care,
Best wishes dear Eddie i Will continue to pray.....never give up
