Hi Seth! Sunday NYC Marathon is my first marathon!! 62yo - just want to finish before dark. Now it’s getting close, there’s a combination of fear and excitement…. Good luck to you - have a great weekend.
Best wishes in the NYC Marathon. Just trust all the hard work, run smartly, and know you will have a great day! I turned 74 today and plan on running the Monumental Half Marathon Saturday...and I have run this course several times...so I am familiar with it! I'll be watching the NYC Marathon on TV Sunday...I have watched it every year since the initial broadcast. Thanks for your motivation...your videos help me turn the door knob...even at my age! Have a great marathon!
Just got accepted into NYC 2023 as a time qualifier. I had to come back to this video just to help me prepare in advance and to get excited! Whoo! Perhaps I will see you there, Seth?
Wishing all NYC runners good luck!!! It's my Disney wine and dine race weekend also and running Friday with a 5k, 10k Saturday and finishing off with half Sunday. 2 years since my last disney race!!!
QOD: Hi Seth, this Sunday I will run the "Grecìa Salentina" Marathon (Grecìa Salentina is a group of small towns near Lecce, in southern Italy). After the finish I have plenty of time to go home and virtually follow your race (thanks to the time zone). Good luck for your race!!!
@@SethJamesDeMoorHi Set; in another video you say to take drink in end of station; what is order in station? First sport drink and then water? I should run nyc marathon in November, sub 03:30:00; first time in us
NYC Marathon on Sunday! Let's Do This! I'm lucky I live in Brooklyn. I'm running parts of the course constantly. The last mile is super tough as well. That climb back into the park is not fun.
Started watching over 2 years ago training for my 1st marathon. 1st time commenting. I will have a tune up race Golden Gate Half marathon in San Francisco on Sunday for my A race of the year at CIM. Thank you for all your insight and knowledge you have shared these passed couple of years. You have inspired me more then you know! Have a good race in NY! Stay blessed! 🙏🏽🤙🏽
Thank u Seth. I’ve learned much from you. I ran my 1st marathon in 2021 in Charlevoix MI. I’ll run NYC next weekend to honor my brother in law who passed at age 38 from stage 4 melanoma. Through your videos (from shoe reviews to videos like the one above) you’ve been a big part of the journey. I honor you for your wisdom, positivity and consistency. Mad props my brother. Thank you again.
Hi Seth, have a great day, enjoy every second. My wife and I are in our 50s and running a tough hill course race on Sunday. Can’t wait. Won’t be winning anything, but will love every bit of it out there. Looking forward to see how you go. I think about 2.22.22. Sounds like a nice time. Hehehehehe. Have fun pal.
HI Seth. I've been following your videos throughout the pandemic - I learned a lot , thanks for sharing wisdom on training blocks. I'm a visually impaired runner from Achilles - I got third place in the paraathletic division in Boston last month and I'm racing NYC this Sunday as well. Wish you good luck and hope you get a PB. don't fight the hills ; Float the hill bridges. We got this.
QD!! NYC MARATHON!!! Great course review! I had a 2x5 mile tempo in peak week and ran it the last 10 miles of the course. 2 days after my long run so it was on tired legs. I thought the hardest part was the fifth ave hill. Because you’re not close to the finish line and it’s a steady incline. I got to feel it on tired legs. The Central Park rolling hills I know will be tough but I’ll also know I have 1 mile left so….
This was a wonderful course preview for the NYC marathon; thank you! I will be running it too and can't wait to complete my 3rd marathon THIS YEAR. Wishing you an awesome race!! Together WE are strong DGR family :)
QOD-running the Richmond(VA) marathon next weekend 11/13. Got a small preview a few years ago when I did the half there…hoping to break that 4 hour mark. Good luck you and everybody else running NYC this weekend. It’s so awesome to see these big races taking off again. Go get ‘em this weekend y’all!!!
QD - my next race is a trail marathon in the Gower peninsula in Wales in 9 days. Won't be previewing the course or the predictably unpredictable Welsh weather in person. Hoping to use your New York race videos as motivation!
Racing my first road marathon on Sunday. Manchester City marathon in New Hampshire, USA. 2:45 target Thanks for inspiring this trail runner to shake things up a bit
So excited for you Seth! I’m also super excited for Suzie from I Run Things! You guys are both on my follow list for The TCS New York Marathon! Can’t wait to cheer you guys on!
QD: On Nov 20 I will be running the Tuckahoe 25K trail race. It's a record distance for me and, as a slow runner, I'm a little afraid (terrified?!) of missing the cut off. I've run up to 13 miles at the right pace, but ran out of time to try out a full distance run, plus that was on roads. Pray for me!
Good luck! Anything under 2:25 will be a victory. It still amazes me that there will be runners who run this course sub-2:10. The world's road marathon specialists are something else. Not just in this race but also in marathons in much smaller cities like Pittsburgh, the closest big city to my home. Qd. My local Turkey Trot 5k.
QOD: My next race is the middle school cross country championships for coneticit and I am struggling with a cold but I will do my best and have the DGR family in the back of my mind Thanks Seth for every thing that you did to help me prepare for cross country season much love DGR much love
Wishing you luck Seth. Really enjoying the detail you are explaining here. Im in the UK but your giving us a first hand experience. Run light and fast.
I was the same way for Chicago but once you get there Sunday morning all the nerves turns into excitement! Seeing 1,000’s of people and everyone is doing the same thing.
QOD: hey Seth - I have been watching your channel and got motivation to get back to running. I am preparing for the big sur marathon trying to break 3:45. I last ran this in 2015 in sub 5 hour. Thanks for inspiring me in picking up my goals. Best of luck for New York city marathon. Hope to run that next year!
Good luck, Seth! You are going to crush it. I'll be racing the Abott Dash to the Finish on Saturday. It's the last 5k of the NYC Marathon. On Sunday, I'll be volunteering in the marathon and making some (horizontal) videos too.
My first and next race will be in Lisbon Portugal 11.21.2021. Really excited to get that first race experience and hopefully will not make too many mistakes along the way with running pace. The race is on Sunday and I will arrive on Saturday from Latvia, luckily I have been to Lisbon before so I have an idea about the course and it should fun and fast race for everyone. My goal 1.Finish the race 2.Sub 2 hours (1/2 marathon) 3.Dont get injured. All the best to you Seth and DGR family!! It's go time NOW!
Racing this weekend but in Indy not NYC. Running the Monumental Marathon! Good luck to everyone racing, we’ve been turning the door knob for months and it’s time to see what we can do on the big stage!
QOD: My next race will be the Hilton Head Marathon. It’s actually my debut Marathon Race and it’s also my local hometown annual race. I thought what better way to approach the Marathon distance than in my own “back yard” so to speak. Because my debut Marathon Race is happening where I already spend 99% of my training it will make gauging pace and effort very easy. I already know where and when to surge and also where and when to hold back. During my training block I managed to pull off 26.25 miles in 03:36:03. My A Goal is to finish, my B Goal to beat my previous time, and my C Goal is to finish top 33%. I’m excited DGR!!!
My next peak race is an 800m in late April. An exercise in patience for sure, but necessary so that I allow my body time to acclimate to speed training without injuries.
My next race will be the local 5k Santa Shuffle in support of the Salvation Army. It's virtual, the same as it was last year (PR'd on that one!). But I had run it twice before then so I ran on the same trail last year and plan to do it again this year. So I have previewed it 3 times already and know every hill and other feature along the way fairly well. Wishing you a safe trip today and an awesome race on Sunday!
Made it over from Ireland for my 2nd NYC marathon despite the crazy travel restriction still in place,no way I was missing this after what's gone on in the last 2 yrs....🏃🍎
My prediction for you chip time is 2:22:22 I’m running the Abbott race to the Finish Line 5K on Saturday. Then I’m running a Virtual Abbott Glogal Run club marathon on the weekend after. I’m hoping to qualify for the London Marathon at that race.
Been watching for many years and it has kept me going through many ups and downs! Wish you the best on Sunday!!!! I don't know if I saw it right, but you showed your bib number for this years race as 1008. I believe I saw in your video clips that same number as your bib number 2 years ago also! It's meant to be! We are with you!
QOD: My next race is the Little Rock marathon on 11/21! I’ve already previewed 18 miles of it in person in 2020 when I woke up with a fever race morning and a medic stopped me at mile 18 and suggested I stop as I didn’t look so well. That was a rough day to say to the least with a big one and only DNF! It has over 900 feet in elevation gain so I’ve studied the elevation chart in detail for the final 8 miles. Go butter the bread Sunday Seth!
For everyone interested in the Majors. Chicago marathon lottery and time qualified registration is open now! Berlin and London were open a month ago, not sure if they’re still open.
My next race is a 5K race PR attempt this Sunday. I previewed the course a couple weeks ago and got to know the hills, route direction, etc. RUN STRONG IN NYC SETH!!
Running a HM on Sunday, starting at about the same time as NYC, but in the central time zone. It's a familiar course and a tune up for the 50th Dallas Marathon in December. Training is going well and the weather looks good. Best of luck to you and all those running in New York!
Seth will do his best to include our videos! Haha say it like it is, you're asking for free videographers big guy!! Which is great! I can't wait to see the footage. Though technically, even if they send it to you, it doesn't mean they are transferring the copyright. So, coming from an IP attorney, you may want to consider sending them a waiver to agree to before posting it to RUclips. Also, Comments of the day don't have to answer the question of the day? It's your world. I am just happy to witness and be a part of it. One day, maybe just one day I will get comment of the day, but I get a feeling this won't be that day. Everybody hates lawyers lol. Excited see you crush it on the course on Sunday, and hope to make it to your group run. Thanks for doing what you do Seth!
You got this Seth ! Lots of turning for you this year. ! I always think of Galen Rupp starting the race at the trials sitting down cool and collected not wasting valuable energy bouncing up and down at the start. Congratulations to all venturing out at the New York marathon!
@sethjamesdemoor i predict Yull break the 2hr19min16 (3:18 pace) However if you’re follow your nutrition strategy- Yull run 2hr18mim 33 sec Enjoy and keep smiling
QOD: I'll be running the Cumming Marathon in Cumming, GA on Sunday. Local race for me as an Atlanta resident. Its a road race, but has some steep hills. Good luck to everyone else also racing/training this weekend!
Next race is the Houston Marathon. My running coach has done the course before so I got first hand knowledge on her experiences. I found a great site on RUclips called marathon 3D and they have 3D shots of all the major marathons. Go get em in NYC Seth, take a bite out of the Apple
My next race will be the first of a series of 4 cross country runs on Sunday in Almere, The Netherlands. It feels good to be back doing cross country as it makes us all stronger runners for the spring and summer. I can unfortunately not preview the course, but I will try to do a warm up on the course before the race on race day
: I’m about to race Turin Half Marathon on 14th November. I know quite well the course. Should be a super flat one with no 90 degrees turns. Hope to give it all!!! for your NYC Marathon!!!
QD: I’ll be racing the Tucson Marathon in early December (same day as CIM). I will be taking a glance of the course prior to race day. I live in Gilbert, AZ so I’m only roughly 100 miles away from Tucson. This will be my first marathon (not including virtual) since February of 2020.
Half Marathon in Vienna on Nov 14th...in Prater where old Kipchoge did his sub-2-hour-thing and Seth did his super-vlog-thing... three laps...i know it well...gotta be one of the flattest courses out there! All the best this weekend to Seth and all you NYC runners out there, sending positive vibes!
I wish I didn’t have prior commitments on Sunday so I yell “butter my bread!” As you run past my apartment! But I’ll be cheering you and all the runners on!
I have 2 races left this year, and I've run them both before, so I know the courses well. Can't wait to watch the race this Sunday - best of luck Seth, you're going to crush it!!
Looks like you got the race course by heart, all the best to you and all the runners out there. I just can't wait to see the vlog after race day, wish I had a time machine
QOD: Girlfriend and I are racing the national trail championship in december. 21 km with 1200m vertical gain. Just coming off a big training trip to the alps with a lot of uphill training, so very exciting! We are checking out the course a couple of times here in november, to figure out pacing on the very hilly terrain :) Good luck in NYC Seth, we are rooting for ya! DGR strong
"Fair warning: be ready for those hills...". I wonder if you are ready for the hills, Seth... I hear you don't really like mountain running... haha. As long as these hills are not Everests throughout the course, I think you got this
My next race is tomorrow morning! My regionals race for my senior high school cross country season it will definitely be an interesting one considering they’re forecasting lots of rain gotta love cross country
Looking forward to your big NYC race video Seth - Good luck. QoD: I have 4 races signed up already for 2022 so far (2 spring, 2 fall) i'm not announcing just yet, but at least 1 I already ran before. I'm a big fan of previewing the race, getting as much insight as possible. The the best insight is having run the race already - so much better equipped with that info 2nd time round - Like this year taking 23min off my Silverstone HM race.
QD: I hope that I will be able to preview my next super flat race course which will be in Boka Kotorska, Montenegro🇲🇪 on December 12th where I will try to go 1:17. Good luck to all runners racing NYC this weekend! DGR strong💪💪💪
Wimborne 10 . A local 10 mile race which is the final race in my club championship. Not considered previewing it but have looked at the elevation profile on strava. I still have a few weeks so may try and hit a few training runs on the course in the next few weeks if possible. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Seth, I’ll be racing a half marathon this Sunday as a bit of a tune up race in a beautiful place called Tatton Park in Cheshire in the Uk. Running with the deer’s hopefully 🦌🦌

QOD: I'll be running the Cumming Marathon in Cumming, GA on Sunday. Local race for me as an Atlanta resident. Its a road race, but has some steep hills. Good luck to everyone else also racing/training this weekend!
Good luck to all GDR and may God bless that day for everyone ❤️🙏🏻😉🇵🇷 from The caribean 🌴
I like your flag! I’m a Borinqueña living in the desert (Arizona). 🏜🌵
I can unfortunately not preview the course, but I will try to do a warm up on the course before the race on race day
Good luck NYC runners. I’ve yet to run a full marathon, but I’m wanting to run NYC some day. I’m doing my fist half marathon in December!
Good luck Seth! We are all behind you! DGR strong!
All the best Seth and every one... Love from Tanzania 🇹🇿, Africa 🤩🤗😍
Best of luck, Seth!! You got this!
What’s up Arizona 🌵🌵🌵! I’m planning on running the Mesa marathon in early February. Best of luck with your training.👍🏽
Thank you!!! The Mesa Marathon was actually the last marathon I did haha. It’s a great course. I’ll be racing the Mesa Half Marathon 👍
Best of luck to you as well 😊
Great preview Seth! Good luck in NY to you and the DGR family racing this weekend!
Let's go, Seth. Have a great race weekend!!
I have 2 races left this year, and I've run them both before, so I know the courses well.
Can't wait to watch the race this Sunday - best of luck Seth, you're going to crush it!!
Good luck NYC marathoners!
Racing on Sunday, but not NYC! Hoping to get a HM PR in Orange County, CA. Good luck all!
Looks like you got the race course by heart, all the best to you and all the runners out there. I just can't wait to see the vlog after race day, wish I had a time machine
I'm running the half marathon of Puebla, here in México, is gonna be my first h/m!!
QOD: Girlfriend and I are racing the national trail championship in december. 21 km with 1200m vertical gain. Just coming off a big training trip to the alps with a lot of uphill training, so very exciting! We are checking out the course a couple of times here in november, to figure out pacing on the very hilly terrain :)
Good luck in NYC Seth, we are rooting for ya! DGR strong
GOOD LUCK To all who runs I'll be watching it on the Television here in England
"Fair warning: be ready for those hills...". I wonder if you are ready for the hills, Seth... I hear you don't really like mountain running... haha. As long as these hills are not Everests throughout the course, I think you got this
Good luck Seth! get some!! Make Colorado proud bud!
Running Sunday but not NYC. Have a great race enjoy the adventure.
Hopefully see you on Sunday Seth. good luck and get that goal. Excited to run on Sunday .
