I love all those old MacK's; I know i also had a 1971 Mack with an air ride cab , small cam 350/ 13spd (dont believe it was the orginial power train) but was a real good work horse for many years Had a big winch and a wet kit. Great looking trucks
Yup. Mack's haven't been Macks since Renault fully bought them and than even worse "Ovlov". That was back in like 89 or somewhere around there. Not to mention what grinds my gears even worse is when people associate the gold dog with an all Mack powertrain. Volvo started that crap when they took over because the real true older Macks in the 70s used the gold dog to symbolize a Maxidyne motor under the hood.
shawn calay we log in ga and r models are the best pullout trucks they are capable in the red clay and you can work on them without having to have a engineering degree
@@kirkcattlecompany6803I drove a 1969 and a 1971 in the late 1990s early 2000s...because of Illinois inspections and emission controls the R models fell fast...MAN those 2 never let me down....I passed up petes and freightshakers on I-294 with their hoods open but those green dashed Rs with no air ride kept ticking...I think if I remember correctly I only had 2 problems....1 a air leak, and 2. one day while I was reversing to dump the motor reversed on me...scared me big time....just shut it down and restarted it...was fine after that.
shawn calay dang I bet that motor reverse sacred you for road trucks wether working on the ranch or if it’s a log truck we usually run Pete’s but I’m seriously liking Mack’s m drive

shawn calay for sure on the computers if any thing goes wrong your done scariest thing to ever happen to me was going down a mountain with some a huge load of hay lost all air pressure in one of our old rd and lost all pressure already past run away ramps bad thing was I was headin right for the intersection I had no air horn no nothing god was with me that day cause I was fine and no one else was hurt
I'm a young driver but I think I'd faint from excitement if someone told me I could drive something like that, I know how to drive manual trucks but with every job I've had I've mostly been in automatics.
You heard the dialog. It was a chance encounter. And he was a good teacher. I had a lot of pullers tell me they loved hearing pullers talk about how to drive his puller. I did this again in Florida this past winter season and I have another run lined up. I want to pull as much as possible so you really have the experience.
That is awesome seeing a first timer from in the cab. Great teacher, great student, awesome video!!
A great old R model still having fun. Love the way it started to lift at the end . Hell of a fun sport

The original Mack bulldog Hood emblems says it all on a Mack truck. Nowadays Mack Trucks and Volvo's run the same Powertrain
with a lot of Chinese crap.....

GreenBoy at GA Farms gold is all Mack right ? When they were the best, period, the older ones anyway. 88’ and back.
@@deborahchesser7375 yep the gold bulldog is all MACK. We still had some of the old MACK trucks on the yard at the shop I work at.
@@greenboyatgafarms2250 I learned in 76’ DM 800, she was a tough bitch.
Reminds me of this old 69 mack cabover with a v8 mack, ol twin stick. Loved that truck.
That was awesome to watch. I love watching these videos but this has to be my favorite because of that perspective.
Well, it was real to me and I wanted to give you the same feeling I had. Thanks for tuning in.
Sweet!! Looks like you had a great time.
That is a hard pulling lil Mack motor! Nice job.
This was so cool man, first time letting that kid drive it was awesome.

The old bully dog meant business💪
Tough as nails! Nothing like an old Mack

Now Eddie should let you at the wheel of Bits and Pieces.
Lol. I love it. I wish CARB could see this. They'd piss their pants.
Now you're hooked lol
You gonna sell that Mack?
Do you know what place you finished in? Looked like a definite top 3 hook for sure!
Hell yea that’s pretty cool
It didn't pull that well when the winches were still on it!
I wanna go next!
Hell yeah
That was cool

LUCKY.
Sounds like a Detroit!!
That was a hoot to watch and I'll wager a hoot to drive. Another 5 feet and you'd have been guilty of theft.
What gear were you in?
3rd Gear Low Side
Those sure aren’t your normal drive tires.
Looks like turf tires.
Going to the house
Hot diggity dog!
What engine in that bad dog?
Schneiderexc it’s an E6 (in-line 6 cylinder) Mack. 675 cubic inches
👍 thanks for the great videos
Does anybody if thats a 237?
This is exactly why I’m in the comments . Lol
