AWS was not contributing a lot to the development of elk. I don't expect that AWS will invest now a lot of development resource to this project in the long feature. Elk is already developing more then 10 years on their product and will soon release version 8

Any documentation that presents the pathways alongside any caveats and limitations please?

Seems like no one, expect AWS, adopted their project. I am so happy about that, big win on the battle between FOSS and big corporations that only care about the profit, like AWS
