Wow, I can already tell this channel has a ton of potential. Your extremely interesting man and it’s so awesome that you can be really smart and also cool and humorous too (no offense to smart people but it’s usually what you’d expect lol ). Keep up the great content man and I look forward to your watching your channel develop!!
I’m a physics major but it’s always entertaining to see how other majors in science see certain subjects and classes. Also, love the stuff on this channels. Most of it goes over my head but I like the way you present things! You show people that scientists can be laidback and chill too. Keep it up!
As someone with a bachelor's degree in a natural science, I definitely dig this list! How would you categorize statistics? I would probably put it in the S Tier since it's ubiquitous....
Great video. Imo linear algebra and computer science deserve to be S Tier. (I'm coming from a chemical engineering perspective though; I think we use linear algebra and computer modeling more than most of the hard sciences) Edit: favorite class is organic chemistry I, closely followed by linear algebra Edit: You can tell this channel is going to get super popular. Calling it now; keep doing what you're doing.
Sean Kauder thank you very much man. I appreciate you sharing your kind thoughts-especially w all the trolls I’ve already experienced on the internet lol very solid defense for linear algebra and I agree that CS can definitely be higher
I'm someone going into college next year in those classes right now and I'm kind of confused between whether to go into com sci or chem engineering. What made you interested in chem e and what type of work can you get in the field?
Bro I love organic, I completely agree with your list I would just have to add 2 classes. I was lucky enough that we have an advanced organic class at my university that I would put in A tier just because it didn't have a lab. And our Pchem is sectioned out into 2 parts and so pchem1 is S tier for sure, thermodynamics, kinetics, all of that good stuff. Awesome video man!
Thanks for sharing! I would definitely agree with your additions. I didn't add in any advanced/special topics classes since at the time my audience was mostly non-scientists, but now that more science majors, etc. have been subscribing, maybe I'll do an updated list some time soon!
Can you speak really highly about bio chemistry but then disrespect A and P which is a class that explains a lot of the macro effects of those biochemical reactions 😂 so yes it’s real science the disrespect is wild
I decided to not include upper-level courses to make it a bit more general for every one, but I loved organometallic chemistry. I’d probably put it in A or B tier. Hbu?
mainly a joke, though I suppose like most jokes, there’s truth to it. most of the information from the classes on this list you can now access for free somewhere-including the ones I ranked highly. If you’re preparing for the workforce though, computer science is S tier imo. Again, this is an intentionally subjective list; it’s not even internally calibrated lol so don’t take it too seriously. Thanks for watching!
@@drjtyson Oh, I completely understand. There's always joking banter between the scientific disciplines. I'm a chemical engineer so I just thing Biology is not even a science. Ignoring the fact that I do biological progess engineering for a portion of my time, haha. Also, I'm terribly offended that you put the physical/material chemistries so low! Structure and material sciences are my life!
Evan Morrison cool, though I won’t endorse biology not being a science haha and sorry about your materials science. I don’t mind physical chemistry, but I really did not enjoy the materials part of inorganic chemistry lol
Pre-nursing not scientist. What's wrong with a and p? To me it seems like you need a fundamental understanding of it to understand biology or anything medical. Not that it teaches anything realy complicated but I wouldnt say it's not real science.
Thanks for watching. The A & P is mostly a joke lol but like all jokes, it’s based in truth. I typically say anatomy is not a science, because science is not required to understand it. Everything is there-all you have to do is look at it. There are not really any hypotheses/experiments that need to be performed. Think about the difference between the questions: “how many ribs does an adult human have?” and “what protein is implicated in x disease?” For the former, the anatomy question, you simply count the number of ribs, for the latter, you need to design experiments. I would argue that the latter requires the process of science-the former, not so much. Physiology is definitely a science. Most A&P classes I’m aware of though are less about the science and more about familiarizing pre-health students with the human body. Very important, but different in my opinion. That’s the underlying bias, but I really only put it in F tier here for the lolz.
Aidan Parsons yeah, but chemistry is the central science! lol jokes aside though, there’s a clear argument for physics, especially considering it explains a lot that occurs in chemistry. whats your favorite part of physics?
Fresh Professor love where your channel is going by the way. I love classical mechanics and relativity. All sciences are amazing, I just can’t get enough of physics. It’s the greatest because no other field of science can be explained without physics.
How on gods green earth can you rank cell bio higher than anatomy and physiology? Physiology, with some gross over simplification, is cell biology. Let me mention MATH isn't a science.... I'm also going to point out that you only ranked classes that YOU took in YOUR science career. You are pretty arrogant for someone who doesn't even have his PhD yet. And, by the way I am a Doctor with a masters degree in inorganic chemistry. Undergrad was Biology, and Chemistry.
blitzkrieg6699 hey doc, thanks for watching. I’m afraid you may have taken the video a little too seriously though lol. This is intentionally subjective and I specifically stated that I would be describing classes that I have taken. You shouldn’t let it offend you. Congrats on your accomplishments.
Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to add your tier list in the comments below!

Kevin C thanks man! that means a lot 💪🏾

Hey man. Thanks for watching! I would certainly agree that statistic is S tier. You've gotta know at least the basics for every other science!
Great video. Imo linear algebra and computer science deserve to be S Tier. (I'm coming from a chemical engineering perspective though; I think we use linear algebra and computer modeling more than most of the hard sciences)

Taking gen chem rn for Bio major. I told myself the same thing you said ab it getting better after chem haha
Haha yes, Gen Chem is, in my opinion, not nearly as good as later chemistries

Keep grindN.... I’m watching
KS0 Kooley appreciate you bro. I definitely will ✊🏾
got shocked when you said everything LIT about Biochem
Love the vid! I’m taking organic 1 next semester
Shirley Crew thanks! Best of luck w Organic-it’s not as hard as people say!
Go into it expecting it to be the hardest class you ever take and you’ll end up loving it
Alex Wexler... I can’t wait for it!
Can you speak really highly about bio chemistry but then disrespect A and P which is a class that explains a lot of the macro effects of those biochemical reactions 😂 so yes it’s real science the disrespect is wild
Yo I hope you get far
Del Corral appreciate it 🙏🏾
I agree with just about all of these, but what about organometallic chemistry?
I decided to not include upper-level courses to make it a bit more general for every one, but I loved organometallic chemistry. I’d probably put it in A or B tier. Hbu?
I think I’d go with A tier if you can understand it, but b tier for me because a lot of it went over my head
So, computer science is a worse tier because you don't need to pay so much money for it...

Trippin, CS too OP.
Good vid
Thanks for watching 👍🏾
Bro I thought you will be ranking the roles the actors played and compare their knowledge level. So yeah walter white is far behind urin man
A&P is dope
mike hoffman agreed, but something had to in F tier haha
I'm form the UK so this is essentialy meaningless to me but its still funny though so keep up the good work :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Physics is the greatest science
Aidan Parsons yeah, but chemistry is the central science! lol jokes aside though, there’s a clear argument for physics, especially considering it explains a lot that occurs in chemistry. whats your favorite part of physics?

Bruh this is obviously a joke
😬
I’m tryna do this for math courses topology is hella lit
You should definitely do it 👌🏾
