    Hi everyone! In the two years since we started this channel, we've helped more than 70+ students get into every single Ivy League School, Stanford, MIT and more! If you're interested in working with us, please visit our website: www.elevated.school/getstarted. And if you'd like your essay edited by a member of our team, visit www.elevated.school/editmyessay . Also, please note that we do take on exceptional low-income students every year, so if you identify as part of that group and would like a scholarship, let us know! I hope you found this video helpful and are having a wonderful day 😇

    I was wondering how you were so good at teaching baby freezes...now I know 🤪. Thanks for demystifying some of the secrecy behind secret societies. Question: how do you think the tapping/interview process will work this year Kev, with everyone being remote, and many people on a leave of absence or gap sem/year?

    • @elevatedschool
      @elevatedschool 3 года назад +5

      I honestly have no idea, but I think they'll do some version of tapping people over zoom/doing zoom interviews that sort of thing

    Hmm interesting. I didn’t go to Yale, but I knew one person who was tapped into Scroll and Key. I was wondering what that was about.

  • @bbsara0146

    Doesn't it defeat the whole purpose of it being secret if everyone knows about it. 90% of the allure of them is that there is secrecy. You have to make it secret enough where people will wonder, but not so secret that literally nobody knows about it at all.

    • @elevatedschool
      @elevatedschool 2 года назад +10

      that's true! they used to be way more secret and there's still a few things that are taboo to discuss (like sharing your society members' life stories or discussing what the inside of your "tomb" looks like) but for the most part, who's part of what society is quite transparent

      it's pretty hard to tell actually -- the quality of the society really varies from year to year. The older ones typically have a stronger alumni base, but newer ones can also be more fun and enjoyable with less restrictions (like the older ones have events with alumni + other requirements)

      Not true...My cousin was tapped by Book and Snake secret society at Yale in her junior year...Our family are immigrants and definitely not millionaires or legacy.
      The stereotype of Yale secret societies was true until the 90's...but has gone major change in last 20 years...They are more diverse and less legacy now...And also a lot less secret too... It's more of a senior year social club nowadays than some new world order ritualistic cult...As far as networking is concerned,my cousin did get a small hedge fund internship through her society networking after graduation but she didn't like the hedge fund lifestyle and work culture.
