Sitrekin (aka. Danish Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg) is the original voice behind Blue Foundation's song 'Eyes on Fire'. She was former lead singer and songwriter in the award-winning band. 'Eyes on Fire' is well known for it's feature on the soundtrack of the first Twilight movie.
Now, Sitrekin has created her very own remake of the iconic song to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2022.
LIMITED VINYL:
Sitrekin's 'Eyes on Fire Remake' was released on a limited, etched two track 12" vinyl in 2022, along with her debut single 'Open Chest', (that went number 1 on Danish National Radio P6 Beat).
This vinyl connects Sitrekins past and present; 'Eyes on Fire' was the last track she ever released with Blue Foundation and 'Open Chest' marks the beginning of Sitrekin.
The vinyl itself is adorned with handwritten lyrics and Sitrekin's logo etched into the B-side, and is partially made of recycled materials. It is a limited run of 250 and all copies are numbered.

Sitrekins 'Eyes on Fire Remake' is also released as a digital track, which went to A-Rotation on Danish National Radio P6 Beat.

The lyrics of 'Eyes on Fire' are rather brutal and should be understood metaphorically. The song is about anger, self-respect, power and beauty. About claiming your space and set up healthy boundaries. It is an ode to healthy aggression and about exploring and expressing one’s own power and knowing one’s worth. When writing the lyrics, Sitrekin found inspiration in ancient power figures such as Kali and Medusa, among others. The song is also about trusting one's own pace path and truth.
‘Eyes on Fire’ was the last song Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg released as part of Blue Foundation. After she, and other members of the band, stopped, the song has gone viral.
With this re-make, Sitrekin is reclaiming the song and its bold message.
This video was filmed in the foyer of the Historical Court Theatre from 1767 in central Copenhagen in the spring 2021, when the Court Theatre was emptied of all movables due to a renovation of the beautiful, listet and rare building.
Fun fact: Over the years, The Court Theatre has hosted many famous Danish artists and personalities, among others H.C. Andersen, who in the 1820s as a young teenager tried his hand as a ballet student, on that very stage.
Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg launched her solo project Sitrekin in 2021 with the song 'Open Chest': orcd.co/openchest, which went number 1 on Danish National Radio P6 Beat and was endorsed by Dolby Laboratories to mainfest their new revolutionary Dolby Atmos sound at their press launch in London in July 2021.
