I'm 14 and I usually go to this go kart place called "k1 speed" and I race on the adult side, not the junior side 😂😂😂😂. but other racers that always go to the place tell me that I'm a good driver for a youngling, I've always wanted to be a F1 driver, but that thing is that my family doesn't really have deep pockets, but right now I am currently saving up money for a kart and then move up the ladder. I really hope I reach my goal

Keep going for your dreams, do not let money deter you. Many racers faced this issue but they pulled through. I actually one day want to drive monster trucks for Monster Jam. I'm 18 years old and this might be a childish dream but it ain't to me. Everyone who thinks otherwise can screw themselves. WIth time and dedication, it'll pay off, you will have to sacrifice a lot for happiness. "Never give up, die first, then give up."

Andrew Fallon we have this in America it's track school in California if you go you get to drive a porshe on a track also if you are good enough you will get offered to join a racing team or you can start dirt tracking as a tonnages if you are good enough you can race in drag racing then go to Le Mans and then move up to the NASCAR xfinity series then the camping world truck series then the monster energy series witch is the pro series or you can go to formula 3 instead of the NASCAR xfinity series then you move up to f1

How to become a racing driver:
1.) Have a small loan of a million dollars.
Getting a racing lisence would be one of the biggest achievements of my life! Too bad i live up north in Norway, where theres no chance of me getting to ever do it ;( But I am only 16 years old now so maybe I can travel and do it one day :D

anyone else been doing a hundred laps in Ayrton Senna's F3 car this morning? Such a coincidence that you guys released this video on the same day as the gran turismo fans have been mastering the indy circuit in Senna's car
This shows the huge difference between an auto journalist and a real race driver. And also why a car review can differ so much when the auto journalist is just that or a former or still active race driver.
I remember when both the Fifth Gear test drivers did not approve of Mclaren 12C as a drivers car and hailed 458 Italia as the best drivers car they had driven. Tiff could not have fun in it and Plato spun it as he was trying to set a fast lap. A race driver can test a cars limits and abilities at much higher levels than others can do.

You were through the same journey I, and probably everyone does. Think, hey, I drive pretty well and quick on the road, I can be good at this. On Ards course found that I couldn't brake, steer or change gear. Half way through the course was told I drove well in a straight line. LOL! I too felt so disappoint in myself.

There're so many comments over here and seemingly there's too much talent around the world.. so many car enthusiasts and everything... i personally im from kenya, 19 years old, a real car enthusiast and I've always wanted to be in any kind of race track .... how i wish these kind of academies and all kind off car gurus were spread all over the world so that some of us may also get exposed to it... we may have passion but without action is just useless.. all these people have the capability but now the funds, exposure and stuff may hinder very good drivers out here.... spread your wings gentlemen
Literally what I’ve wanted to do for a living my whole life. I’ve had the pleasure driving two major speedways. Both a nascar and Indy 500 car(hit 157 mph in that one on the raceway,the cars can hit 200 mph though). Been on both on Mario Andretti and Richard Pettit speedways.
I have the proven skill set I just live far from any tracks that are big enough, and funding is an issue.

It's a good fun simulator but it only represents book knowledge and will only apply 30% to real life track days/events. Try iRacing for a more realistic simulator.
Yea, play Gran Turismo, and get a completely wrong idea of the car physics and behaviour. GT is an arcade game, in no way a realistic representation of real racing. Just becuase there are a few people who took part in GT Academy turned up being good is not because of GT, but because of their talent. GT is the last game that should be seriously connected to real racing.
derbigpr500 actually GT and iRacing are racing simulators, and do represent realistic driving physics (not as real as the real thing but still close to accurate) especially iracing, and depending on your rig and setup. don't confuse racing sims with arcade games like need for speed or forza. You can learn alot about racing from simulators, there are even full simulator rigs with hydraulic pumps and things so you even feel the gforces when cornering and braking so its almost 100% accurate. Many professional racing drivers still use racing sims and karting to perfect their skills.

My age still 13 y.o but i always dream being one of nascar racers. But i once felt that i can never be one of them bcz im just an ordinary boy who always fail math test. But one day, i found a person name Ken Block on youtube and that made me feel amazing and made me feel that i can and will be a nascar racers. I just realize that in this world nothing is impossible except pass your math exam in school.

I wan't to fly a plane when I am older, I am 13. It's sad that so many things cost money that are fun. My parents aren't going to spill pockets for my hobby because they are saving for college. To be able to fly a plane you need to get a plane which is sad, I wish you could rent one.
Hook me up. 42 here, dreamer, invention owner & designer, I can keep up in a 4 banger against higher horses. It isn't the car, it is the driver too. I AM the Rocket Bunny. Nobody knows corners like I do & how to enter them & thus exit them. I know, I know I sound as if I am full of myself. I just have confidence mates. I am spot on. Ride the lines. Nobody has a racing style like my own. I am an aggressive driver, yet I am precise & I am a defensive driver. I know the exact moment in time to take over any obstacle & thus driver. I feel the road in my hips and thus up through my backbone into my arms. I know how to manipulate any road condition to benefit my skills. I am like the equivalent of a super computer. Nano technology built into a human body. Pretty bloody surreal, even to me at times mate. 😜

My dream is to become a racing driver in f1. I am 17 and have been go karting for the first time ever this year. My overprotective parents and the lack of money in the house has meant I couldn't start at a young age. It is too late for me to reach my dream.

All my life people have told me that I can't be a racecar driver.My mom is a single mom and we don't have any money.Im 14 and havent won a race yet nor have I gotten the attention of a sponsor.I've wanted to be a racer since I was 2 years old.I want to give up but I have a championship race coming up july 13th.I hope and pray I win or if I don't I get the attention of a sponsor that will help me.

I live in the west of norway and i've always wanted to get the racing license. Im still under the age of 18 but my chances of succeeding is probably really small but one day I will travel to the UK and get my racing license.
There are tons of tracks that you can get your license at but, I think personally the the UK is your best bet because they have more to offer.

XwindzyX i am from Oslo and I'm 16 and I want to be an f1 driver, but norway has few facilties and everything is expensive. It's also too late to start now, because most f1 drivers start at the age of 8. I will never achieve my goal because of the country I live in :(

You're probably 16 by now: take a race permit with your own cash and convince a team to let you race. Do well in your first race and you'll be set.

Guess I really want to race
I'm 13 and I go to a track called "elk" I have raced there since I was 8. My dad has watched me progress from being the person that you see going 15 mph and crashing into everything they see to being to be 1 of 4 people to do a lap time in under 45 seconds. The track is 1k long and the karts go 56 mph. I'm also one of two people that can race with adults it's been my dream to race so if any of you are able to make it true reply and I'll be sure to contact you

Its all nice and wonderful and it may seem that becoming a race driver is an easy thing to do, you just go to a race track and pass your license. However will that really help you to start a professional carrier and earn money from it for a living ? I think the prospects are low unless you are something extremely extraordinary and somebody will notice you. Moreover, I wonder how much such exams cost ? I bet it cost a pretty hefty sum of money, not to mention you would need more money to start racing if nobody supported you. So in the end, it seems that becoming a race driver is not so easy speaking from a financial point of view. If you want to do this as a profession (like me) and at the same time have any prospects of becoming a successful race driver you had to have rich parents who would support your racing activities from a childhood to build strong racing skills. I would love to become a racing driver. Driving is my passion and I would love to earn money for a living while doing it. But I am already 24 years old which I think is way too old to start a professional racing carrier. So even if I went and passed this test and got a license I could only hope at best to do this as a hobby and not earn but spend money on it which kinda sucks having in mind nowadays economic situation.

You’re never too old brother, I’m about to embark on my path. I’m 23 and I gave it a lot of thought, it may seem comical but I believe it’s a possibility. It took awhile but I wanted to gain an education first for a fall back. Plus it will help in supporting this dream. Don’t ever give up on your dreams ever, no matter what because you can manifest whatever you put your mind to!
Anyone here have any advice no matter what amount on how to start racing cars on oval tracks. I’m broke but live in NC have a lot of opportunities where I live, but I’m young and dumb and the only person that raced in my family couldn’t make it passed late model racing.

You guys need to go abroad whenever you can and drive go karts or enter XCar. Yes its not cheap but if you are determined and have self confidence then you can be a racing driver.
