I would rather not go Back to the old house I would rather not go Back to the old house There's too many bad memories Too many memories there When you cycled by Here began all my dreams The saddest thing I've ever seen And you never knew How much I really liked you Because I never even told you Oh, and I meant to Are you still there or have you moved away? Or have you moved away? I would love to go Back to the old house But I never will I never will I never will
I know what you mean. I've been listening to The Smiths since the early 80's (basically, since they came out, and/or once their music made the way to the US) and I still listen to the songs and hear new things all the time. It's quite extraordinary.
That is very kind of you to say, Alexander. Thanks for taking the time to watch/listen. The real magic is the composition itself. It's very satisfying to even be able to play such a beautiful piece of music.
Finally a smiths acoustic cover that plays every jote and doesn't ape the song, now if only I could gather forces to do a cover with. Add some vocals perhaps one day by me, cheers brew.
Thanks very much. I met a swell feller from Belgium (Gert Van de Voorde) and have been teaming-up with him on a number of collaborations. He added a great vocal to this one (and many others), if you care to take a gander: ruclips.net/video/fN0PU-Sutf0/видео.html . If there's one thing I love about technology, it's that it enables us to collaborate on different sides of the world. Cheers!
Hello… I’ve been asked a few times about doing tutorials and the truth is, I do not necessarily feel qualified to do so in many ways. I play by ear mostly, and work out the parts through repetition. I don’t really know music theory, etc., so I’m not sure how I would explain a lot of what is going on in this song in particular. I have thought about possibly doing something where I simply play each part very slowly and explain the basics of what I ‘think’ is going on, but I am currently working on an EP of original music and that takes up most of my time.
@@winstonsmith3690 playing and simply enjoying it the most important thing, in my eyes. Speaking for myself, playing music is my personal mental mental health program. When I’m playing, it takes all my stresses away. I honestly don’t feel like I am a great musician, but I certainly do enjoy doing it, and that’s the most important thing. So keep playing, I say! 😁
Definetely one of the best covers of this song on youtube. Beautiful song

1:48 looks like acordes ( line guitar). Hold on to your Friends ( CD The Best of Morrissey 1997)
Ahhhh, I see what you mean.
😮
Welldone Weldon.! Is it your own transcription?
Thank you, Pascal. I've been playing this song for a while, so I play it from memory at this point.
