I'm from Brazil. Two years ago I've lost my mom and sometimes I coming back here to listen this perfect cover from one of my favorites songs that reminds me of my mommy. How can a song touch our feelings this way ?

Lost my brother 3 years ago. Then my mom, a week after. My 3 turtles, who were my mom's and had them since I was a kid (I'm 28 now) have all passed away.
My wife left me a few months ago and by default, lost the daughter that I fathered 6 years. My cat whom I had since he was kitten, back in 8th grade has passed away.
Then came across this beautifully done cover. Both yours and the original are on loop.

Btw, I listened to a few of your tracks and enjoyed them. Funny, we both seemingly had a similar journey with regards to our home recording process. I also had the same Tascam 4-track, which is what I started on. For many years, I only recorded to see how guitar parts worked together and to make glorified demos, so-to-speak. My next recorder was the Boss BR-8, which was a great tool at the time. I then got a Boss BR-1600. And funny enough, I now use a Zoom R16 as my main recorder because I don't like recording on a computer. I do, however, mix on a computer and I user Reaper as my DAW. Cheers!

It’s always been one of my favorites as well. And yes, the rain does add to the overall sound. I always try to put those little sound effects in all of the covers. I recall scouring RUclips for just the right rain sound. Haha. Thanks for tuning-in.

As for the song, I think it is actually perfect, it has a fantastic and very prominent bass on it, it is a perfect track for a tribute to Andy's talent. It's also one of my favorite songs ever and strange as it may sound, even with their most depressing songs, The Smiths always made me feel better, actually even more with those 'sad' tracks, if it makes any sense so perfect choice and you all really nailed it, rain effects and all, every detail is there.
I know what you mean. Music/songs are like a good friend. I find that fascinating. And like a good friend, it’s like someone is listening … lending and ear, if you will. So the mutual respect of listening to one another is part of the equation. I promise that I’m not trying to get cosmic or philosophical in any regard. In short, yeah, I have always loved a certain melancholy or sadness in music. It actually has a way of making me feel better.

Thank you very much. I have never done tutorials as of yet. I have considered it, but I am busy working on some original music and other covers, that there really isn’t much time to do tutorials. I am also unsure about how good I would be at doing tutorials.
Andy was a true great on the bass, his melodies were the backbone of the songs. I think he got a bit overlooked due to M&M’s genius.
I know what you mean. He was a one-off, for sure. One could argue that the songs would not have been nearly as interesting and/or unique without his participation. Cheers!
What did you use to program the drums?
I use a/the midi editor in my DAW (Reaper) to program the parts and used EZDrummer2 for the sounds. I don’t recall which ‘kit’ I used on that song. They have a number of ‘kits’ or EZX expansions, as you may be aware.

@@welldonep yeah ! I really love the song but I missed Morrissey´s voice in that one ! sorry man ! . . . I tried so hard to sing all over the years and never quite get it ! it is not as easy as it may seem ! you need a good sounding voice and try to educate it ! not an easy task . . . singing is not for cowards ! lol
@@carlosrecuerdaruiz2948 No need to apologize. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I am not offended by opinions in the slightest. I agree, I find singing very difficult in general. I tend to find it harder to do in the studio and/or on recordings than live for whatever reason, assuming I have decent monitors when singing live. But I've gone back and forth between wanting to 'try' to be a decent lead singer and I just don't believe I have what it takes despite loving to sing. It is super difficult, as you mentioned, and personally, I think Gert did a great job on this, particularly considering everything mentioned above.
